Who: Erica Hartmann ([livejournal.com profile] lilblackdevil) , Lawrence Kutner ([livejournal.com profile] prodefibrillist) , and YOU.
What: Breakfast buffet!
When: Sometime after this. Ignore the timestamp
Where: The ballroom
Rating: It's only food...PG.

The ghosts at work had been impressive. Every few minutes, a new tray or container filled with another dish would be placed next to those already on the long table. She'd sneaked one of the cream-filled bagels to munch on (for some unknown reason, the dishes were placed in alphabetical order), and it was, as expected, of high quality. By now, the table was almost fully covered by the various breakfast foods Kutner and her had come up with. There was little doubt that everything else was just as tasty.

She turned her attention to the entrance now, wondering who would show up.

Kutner had picked up a plate and was slowly making his way down the row of tables, picking through the different food, and occasionally picking something to munch on as he loaded his plate.

"This bacon tastes awesome," he said with a grin, half-chewing as he spoke. "How's that bagel?"

Anything from the kitchen could usually fill Shinobu up fine. If it didn't have what she wanted, then she could ask the ghosts for a made-to-order entree. On her way to the kitchen, though, she noticed some commotion coming from the ballroom's direction. What could be going on there this early?

Curiosity led her to a breakfast buffet set up. A variety of food lined the table -- just about anything someone would want for the first meal of the day. She recognizes Kutner filling a plate talking to a blonde girl and walks in. "Hey. What's the occasion?"

Kutner looked back with her at a smile and shrugged slightly. "Yay, we're not dead anymore?" It seemed to be as good a reason as any. An odd one, but in a place like this there was very little that wasn't considered odd.

"Dead?" She mulled over that for a few moments as she reached for some waffles. "You mean from that Joker incident?" She didn't know much about it, honestly, but the guy bore a reputation for causing trouble. Or perhaps there was another incident entirely? She could stand to keep up better with castlewide happenings.

"Yeah," he said with a nod. "I figured having a doctor there might help if people got hurt and ... I was the one who got hurt."

She snorted. "That's putting it lightly. Well." She gestured a toast, and a wandering ghost slipped a glass of orange juice in her hand. Handy. "For being alive again."

He picked up his own cup of coffee and clinked it against her glass. "For being alive again."

"Will do," he nodded, before shuffling through his own food again.

Doyle had actually emerged out into the public, and he caught a whiff of breakfast. He was there.

He was walking along the table, getting a look at what there was to offer, as he munched on a muffin.

Doyle looked up and offered a nod. "Mornin'. You do this?"

"So I see." He checks things out a bit more and piles some eggs on a plate. "What's the occasion?"

"Well, y'should," he said, slightly muffled by food. "People don't come back to life everyday."

He smirked. "No...though I guess you could call the place a lifesaver. Back home, me and my friend are dead." He frowned and shrugged. "So I hear, at least."

He smiled down at his plate, because he was getting a second chance before he even blew the first one. "That they are."
