Who: Ruby and Sam
What: Waking up for the roommate swap/off loss
When: Early Saturday morning
Where: Sam & Ruby's new room
Rating: PG-13 Language?
Her shoulder ached, and even having Lucifer offer to find someone to fix it wasn't going to make anything better. She had knocked Dean out, Cas had shot her -- who knew what was going on with them now. Whatever line of trust she had built out, she was pretty sure was gone now. Every time she shifted in her sleep she winced in pain, and turned again to press weight off of her shoulder.
At some point though she had been able to drift off to sleep, Lucifer was looming somewhere in the room, which hadn't made the rest she was trying to get any easier. Then at some point that morning she felt an arm lace around her waist. It felt familiar, and it felt right. It barely stirred her awake for a moment as she settled back into the warmth.
Then panic boiled up under her skin as she startled herself awake. Bolting upright in the bed she pushed away from him, her eyes wild and darting with distrust. Her shoulder hit the wall, which made her cry out in pain for a moment before she shifted to keep her distance.
"Get the hell away from me!"

"Easy. It's just me."
He met her eyes for a moment, hands up in a sign of surrender, before his eyes wandered over to the bandage on her shoulder, and he managed to get even more worried, if that was at all possible.
"What the hell happened?"

Keeping still though, keeping silent she instead watched him, watched his eyes follow hers around the room, and to her shoulder. Her hand brushed to the bandage for a moment, "I got shot last night. We had a plan, but I couldn't let them go through with it."

Sam certainly did not consent to his girlfriend getting shot, and if Dean decided to do something after he told Sam he would deal, well -- Sam was gonna be pretty pissed. In fact, Sam was gonna be more than pissed.
"I mean, Jesus, I was only out for a few hours and people start shooting at each other?" Oh yeah. Sam planned on marching across the hall and ripping his brother's head off, but he needed to know what happened first.

Running her hand through her hair she shook her head for a moment, it hadn't been a week, but it had been long enough for her to know that he wasn't Sam at all, "It's been almost a week, and this isn't funny."
She'd asked Lucifer not to use Sam's memories, not to try and explain things to her, but now she wasn't sure what was going on at all. The look on his face though, was honest concern and a bit of fear.
"Sam?"

The fact that she'd said it'd been a week, been the most distressing part. He'd been out before. When he was possessed, Meg had knocked him out for hours at a time, but she always managed to wake him up when the important things were happening. He'd never lost this much time before, and now he was starting to get more than a little concerned.
"Ruby, what happened?" He wasn't sure if he wanted to know, but he needed to.

"I don't know what's going on... but this isn't my room, and up until you tried to snuggle? You weren't Sam."
Chewing on her bottom lip for a moment, she looked at him, "You were... Lucifer." She said the name and waited for reaction, because this was going to be the telling moment.

And then it sank in. The fact that the castle hated him, or was trying to warn him against something, or whatever the hell their deal was, and then the disbelief on his face faded to a look of blind panic because he couldn't remember. The last thing he did remember was falling asleep next to her that night then waking up now, and he'd lost a week.
"Oh, God." He swallowed for a moment, trying not to freak himself out too much. "Please tell me I didn't hurt someone."

Her stomach hurt, and her shoulder still ached, "They were going to shoot Lucifer with the Colt, but I just - I couldn't let them do it. I hit him, and then Castiel shot me."
Moving closer to him she reached her hand out toward him, tentatively, mostly because it was difficult to really collect everything she was going through, "So it was a loss..."
no subject
"It had to have been. I mean, I never said yes to him here. And I'm pretty sure I didn't go home."
Though he really didn't like that the castle had the ability to say yes for him.

For the moment though it was okay to just let this be what she had, "It was so real, I thought... I thought I lost you, to something that was my fault."

He knew that she was referring to the greater scheme of things, but he wasn't going to blame that on her. Part of it was his choice too, and he wasn't going to punish her for his bad decisions. They both had screwed up. This didn't fall on either of them.

Pulling in tighter, she almost was okay with it being just a dream, but her heart wouldn't let go of reality so easily, "How do I know this isn't a trick? I mean, this isn't even our room, and our dogs are gone... it's, it's like a shell of what it should be."

He paused for a moment, before tilting his head down to kiss her gently. He knew she'd probably push him away, but it was worth a shot. It was the only thing that he knew would work more than words.

Of course convincing anyone else might not be so easy, but this at least was something. Pulling back she rested her forehead to his, smirking, "Well, okay so I know you're you. The rest of it? This still isn't our room. I also did actually hit Dean with a lead pipe, and I really did get shot by Castiel."
Sitting up straighter she looked around, "It's just not right."

He started to turn to slide out of bed and have a look around. "I mean, it's not like the castle hasn't changed on us before."
no subject
Shifting she moved onto her side resting her head to the pillow, watching him wander the bedroom, "So you were on a loss and now the castle took the dogs and changed the room? We should check on Dean and them, see if they were on a loss too."
no subject
But he was worried about his brother. If Dean and them really did go home, he wasn't sure how Dean would react to him, and he really didn't like that feeling. He started to cross over to the journals as he said it, going to flip through to see if there was anything from his brother.

Her shoulder still hurt and she was pretty sure not all of the bruises about her ribcage were actually healed. At the very least she figured her face wasn't too scary since Sam hadn't panicked over that straight away.
Lying there in bed, her fingers ghosted over her features, feeling the light raised lines where there had been deep cuts before. Now they were just faint marks, "I think your dad likes me too. Not like-like, but he came to help me the other day."

Her hand ran down his back a bit, mostly for comfort. "He came to see me though, after," Ruby paused for a moment. She wasn't even sure how to explain any of it really, "After Cas came back from the future, so did you and then Dean and Chuck. Having Lucifer around wasn't exactly Dean's idea of a party. Cas came to me saying they wanted to use me as bait. I didn't really understand, since I had pretty much told Lucifer the same thing I told you this morning. I didn't want him near me, and he seemed to honor it."
Chewing on her bottom lip she rested her cheek to Sam's back, before she continued, "I told them their plan was moronic. They wanted to put me in a Devil's Trap and keep me there until he showed up. I told them if they wanted him to actually come to me, then I had to at least show him I trusted him, and to do that I'd have to need him around."
Exhaling slowly she shrugged, "I told Dean to hit me, he kinda got a bit carried away, but after I made my journal entry to make it a public thing, your dad came to help bandage me up. It's probably why I healed so nicely."
no subject
To be honest, he was surprised. He didn't think his dad would be the type to do that kind of thing for her, whether Sam cared for her or not, and the fact that John was willing to make that gesture made him ... happier. A lot happier, actually.

Later that morning!
What the hell kind of joke is this?!
[Faye is in the communal kitchen in her underwear, trying in vain not to burn the place down while cooking, still completely unaware that there was another room to this new 'suite' of hers]
no subject
You heard that right? [because last time she checked? They didn't have a roommate, she slips out of bed and moves to the door, opening it and popping her head out]
Hello?

[moves through the door and into the living room area, which isn't too different from how their room is normally, but there's a kitchen - and some cursing coming from the kitchen and a girl that is doing the cursing]
Hi? [waves a little]
no subject
Uh...who are you?
no subject
I'm Ruby, I was in the room over there? [gestures over her shoulder] My boyfriend Sam and I woke up there.
no subject
...Oh.
[a little freaked out]

Everything okay?
