Who: Elle Bishop & Kutner
What: Ruby drops Elle off at the clinic for help
When: Early Thursday Morning (5am)
Where: Clinic in the castle
Rating: PG13
The thing that worried Ruby the most at the moment, was that Elle was worse off than she had assumed she'd be. It was the fact that within two days she'd been possessed, let go and tortured, and now possessed again that was taking a toll on the body. Elle had been through the worst of it and survived, and now getting her the help she needed was the foremost thought in her mind. The injuries didn't bother her though, with the exception of the slight limp that was making her take a lot longer. Finding her way back to the castle, without really having too many onlookers catch sight of her wasn't too difficult this early in the morning.
Either that or it was just too commonplace for someone to be wandering through the city this banged up.
Sam and her had spoken the night before, and Ruby was now realizing just how far gone the Sam she cared about was. Being honest with herself took some thinking, but trying to get back Sam through this loss was about the dumbest thing she'd done. If she wasn't already in such deep shit with him before, now when he came back it'd be even worse.
She should've stopped him. Laughing a bit Elle's voice echoed in her mind as she realized that the way Elle looked, Ruby might not have been able to stop him. Trying to stop him might make him lash out, might make him do something far worse than just beat up the blonde that Ruby was walking into the clinic.
Pulling the castle doors open Ruby felt Elle, slip out of it again inside of her. "Don't you dare die on me," Ruby lectured to the body she was wearing.
Pushing into the clinic she knew how it looked, because it looked bad, "Hello? Anyone? I have to explain what's going on here and if I leave before I can explain, Elle might die."

Pushing into the clinic she knew how it looked, because it looked bad, "Hello? Anyone? I have to explain what's going on here and if I leave before I can explain, Elle might die."

"Jesus Christ," he whispered, before looking for the other person who was speaking, moving towards Elle to help her get to the back somehow, someway. He couldn't find the person, so he figured it might be better to ask her, if no one else. "What happened?"
no subject
"Look Elle got herself into some trouble, I'm going to take care of it, but right now you need to start treating her. When I leave, she's going to pass out and everything I'm doing to keep her coherent and with me? Goes with me."
no subject
Because this was going to become an even weirder conversation of that was the case. He didn't stop treating her in the process, however picking up the stethoscope from the table next to the gurney and starting to check her heart and breathing.
no subject
"No. Look, I'm possessing her. It was the only way to get her back here quickly. I'm sort of like her life support system at the moment. I just can't stay..."
Ruby looked the guy in the eye, "You're going to have to take a step back."
no subject
He was worried, considering he still didn't know what happened to her, but if Elle was still conscious when the person "possessing" her was gone, he should be able to get what happened from her. If not, he'd treat whatever he could find.
"Wait -- does she have any internal injuries?"
no subject
After giving him a look as if to say, 'that it?' Ruby shook Elle's head and shut her eyes, loosening herself from the inside of Elle. There was no gentle way to do it, and part of her wished she could just shut down inside of her and let the treatment happen before she needed to leave.
Sam was still back in the city, and she knew that their little talk the night before was more or less for nothing.
In a rush of movement, Ruby pushed herself out of Elle. The black plume of smoke rising up from Elle's mouth and leaving the clinic through a vent as quickly as she could in order to return to her own body elsewhere.'
Elle's body slumped over backwards, back onto the bed that Ruby had made her sit down on. She was still there, somewhere but that took whatever strength Elle had gathered, right out of her.

Two weeks or not -- wasn't going to stop him from doing his job.
"Elle? It's Kutner. Can you hear me?"
no subject
Then there was darkness, and a feeling of confinement and being pushed against a wall. Forced to hold fast to a surface that was raking against her back, as something moved around her.
Thinking about it made her want to hurl, but then there was a rush of everything in her slipping away and whatever had pressed her to that wall, let her fall.
The impact of falling within ones self was brutal, and even now she could only faintly hear the sound of her own name. Her body shifted though, which hurt now that she was starting to regain connection to her own body.
no subject
"If you can still hear me, you're dehydrated and probably in a lot of pain. I want to put you on IV fluids with antibiotics and a low dose painkiller." He slipped his hand in the one closet to her. "If that's okay, squeeze my hand."
no subject
Elle could barely sift through the pain to do much of anything except feel the warmth of a hand to hers. Everything was slowly waking up, all the nerve endings, all the muscles that ached and felt like they'd been lacerated.
Falling asleep would be so much easier than trying to wake up, but Elle still made some attempt to brush a finger against the hand holding onto hers. Something that she could pull thought to and actually make work.
no subject
He was worried -- really worried, to be perfectly honest, but for right now he was confident that she was going to be okay. He squeezed her hand gently one last time, before moving away to set up the IVs and get to work on dressing her wounds.

There wasn't any doubt in her mind that it was a loss, but even with that to consider? There were a lot of people that went on dangerous losses, but she hadn't heard that any of them did that to someone. That girl turned into a vampire, but there were other people to stop her. This was sick.
As time passed she flickered in and out of consciousness, trying to rest when she actually could tell she was going to rest, and to stay awake when she knew she couldn't sleep just yet. Her life was slowly being able to be summed up into small sections of things she wanted to forget. Her childhood, her father, Peter, Adam, Sylar... and now this. There wasn't anything she could think of that she wanted to keep for herself, and no one that at the moment she thought was worth the risk anymore.
What was the point of meeting someone here, if the castle could just flip a switch and make them kill you. She could have that at home, she actually did have that at home. Which is why she was dead there.
Now all she could do was just wait and see if she was going to have a two week vacation courtesy of someone she thought was a friend, or if she was going to have to explain her injuries every day until she healed.
no subject
"How're you feeling?" he asked as he went to check her vitals and the wounds. He was going to have to change the dressing on the burn soon, but he was willing to take his time.
no subject
Instinct wanted her to rip it out, but she was too worn out to even want to attempt that sort of behavior. Instead she just wanted to curl up and ignore everything for just a bit longer. That wouldn't help, in fact she was sure it would hurt more than anything.
Opening her eyes she didn't need to focus to realize where she was. How she got there was still sort of a blur though. Turning her head she saw Kutner and exhaled, "So not dead then." Her voice was strained, and her head ached.
no subject
He made his way around the edge of the bed, gently taking the burned arm in his hand. "I'm just going to check this and change the dressing. I stitched up all the other wounds, and they should heal nicely." He paused for a minute, as he started to work on her arm.
"Is there anyone I can get in touch with for you? A friend I can filter something to?"
no subject
Pulling in a breath she chewed on her bottom lip while he tended to her arm, and shook her head to his question, "No."
Even if there had been people that should be told, at the moment she didn't want to trust anyone other than herself. Those that cared about her would just be like everyone else, and eventually she'd be alone. It was easier to just be used to it like this.
no subject
"I could check in on you for a while, if you'd like. Just until you get back on your feet?"
no subject
It wasn't as if Claire was going to be willing to...
There was something there, in the back of her mind about Claire and she couldn't remember what it was. Focusing back on Kutner she shrugged, wincing a bit as she did, "You don't have to. I'm not going anywhere just yet."
no subject
"Can I ask what happened? Whatever it was that brought you here -- they weren't so big on the details."
no subject
Taking a slow breath and letting it out Elle tried not to get too upset, but she had trusted someone and once again she'd been let down. It would be over, and Sam would try to apologize, to say it wasn't him, that it was the castle. Which to her was ridiculous, that girl wasn't on a loss and she just led her right into the lion's den.
"I trusted someone, and I shouldn't have. That's all."
no subject
He wasn't sure if he should keep pressing or just let her rest, but he felt like he should know more about what happened. So that he could warn someone, or something. But right now, he didn't think that was what she needed, so he just stayed where he was and was ready to listen, talk, whatever she needed.
no subject
Shutting her eyes she tried to block out all the thoughts that raced through her mind. Exhaling she turned her face away from Kutner, staring at the wall instead. If she could get her mind to stop, she might actually get some rest.
no subject
"I'll let you rest. In a few hours, I'll come back and check on you again."
