Who: Esme Cullen
mothercullen and Jasper Whitlock
oh_hale_jasper
What: She's trying to find him just so that she can keep him away from a healing group.
When: Now
Where: Wherever he is >.>
Rating: PG-13
Because she was no help being around wounded people and she knew that, she had taken a different approach. Carrying the book with her in case she needed to open it to warn people or call one of the family for help, she made her way around the castle grounds in search of her rogue child. Using her speed she hurried as quickly s she could. He was not easy to find.

"Jasper..."
Esme, stopped in her tracks, watching him.

"What?" He asked sharply.

"Hold on," she told him. "I'll tell you in a minute, what I had to tell you." She opened the book casually and quickly scribbled a note down for Carlisle. Then she closed it up and just hoped he'd get it fast.
"Now then." She took a step closer to him, hoping he wouldn't ask about the book and reached out to tightly grasp his wrist. "Look, If you think that it's alright to hurt my other children, then you are sorely mistaken. I saw Emmett's skin and since you insist on not being a part of this family, or whatever it is, do not think that I will allow you to hurt any of my other children."
Beautiful!
"Ma'am," He said with a little bit of a chuckle. "I don't recall askin' you permission to do hurt your 'children'. And you know I can't help it if they're gonna come after me. If I get attacked, I'm fightin' back."
He shrugged. "Not my fault your boy doesn't know how to handle himself."

"You want to know why we keep following you around?" She asked, not releasing her tight grip on his wrist.

He looked down at her hand on his wrist and lifted their arms before jerking his hand away, catching her wrist instead. "I'd advise you not to touch me again. I'm likely to take that as a thread and we wouldn't want to leave your children without their mother now would we?"

So she forced her mother nature down, forced herself to remember this was not the same boy she loved and adored. "I am more then capable of defending myself, I may be a mother, but you have no idea what a mother is capable of doing when her child is threatened." With that, she grabbed the hand that was holding her wrist tightly, fingers linking into his to yank her hand free and she held his wrist once again, more tightly then before, to show he could not intimidate her.
"And sometimes protecting your child, means protecting them from themselves." That was true.

He pulled his wrist back, wrenching it out of her grip. "I'm sure you're very strong, ma'am." He assured her. "But I've killed more of our kind than you probably care to count." He didn't take into account that she probably already knew this. He still didn't believe he was who they said he was.
Jasper took a step closer to her, right in her face almost, or well, that close, though he took advantage of his full height. "I'm not your child. So please get over these delusions of yours. I'd kill you and wouldn't think twice before starting on your 'children'. You're all in my way and I won't have that."
"What's the one who thinks I'm in love with her? Alice? I could always start there." He smirked.

Esme couldn't stop the snarl that caught at her and she didn't care that he towered over her, she grabbed his arms, tightly within her own, shoving him back. She did not use her full strength, but she held him there and looked up at him. Her eyes were dark and clearly dangerous.
She gripped his arms tighter. "You are right, you'll have to leave them without a mother before I'll allow you to touch a single one of them." She would rather die then see Alice or Emmett or Rosalie or Edward hurt. They were her life, as much as he was. But at the moment he was the dangerous one and they weren't. Her entire world revolved around that family and she wasn't about to let, even Jasper bring harm upon them, and she knew she couldn't kill Jasper, she did not have it in her, but she could try to capture him and if she had to fight him to do that, then she'd do her best.
She'd rather he took it out on her then on the rest of them.

"You could have avoided this. If all of you just left me, I wouldn't have to kill your little family." He snarled. At once he reached forward and grabbed Esme so now he was the one restraining her. "I wonder what they'll say when you're dead ..." He mused aloud.

In his rush, he had managed to get there in time for Jasper's little muse. He had been angry enough seeing his son restraining Esme like so, but the thought of him hurting any of their family was something not even he could stand for. While his normal reaction would have been to interrupt, to try and calmly talk it out, he didn't feel that same patience within him. He instead felt a growl erupt from the back of his throat, and he quickly lunged forward, grabbing hold of Jasper's collar and attempting to pull him away from Esme.
"Don't. Touch her. Jasper."

His eyes widened as he stumbled backwards, pulled by Carlisle's hands. He yanked away, having had his fill of being restrained by other vampires for the day. He growned at Carlisle, looking at him with narrowed eyes. He'd kill him to if he had to.
"Eager for your turn?" He goaded. "Wanted to go before she did?" He bared his teeth in a challenge, staring the other down.

Immediately he struggled against her, managing to rip his arms away from her. He turned sharply and made a grab for her neck, trying to get a girl hold on it. "I've just about had enough out of you." He said with a low growl from deep in his chest.
Without bothering to wait for a response, he used all his strength to shove her away from him, unsure and uncaring of how far or hard she'd get away, as long as she provided a distraction. As much as he hated to admit it, he was outmatched here.

He swallowed roughly, his eyes shut tight, knowing that when he went to look for him, Jasper would likely not be there. "Are you alright?" he murmured, wanting to be sure the choice had at least been worth it.

She was grateful that her husband was there with her, because she he understood better then the others the feeling of being a parent in this situation. God, it hurt to remember what had just gone on, but it played over and over in her head like a broken record. She shook in Carlisle's arms, the hand that was not holding her neck, knotted itself in Carlisle's shirt and she sobbed against him. There may be no tears to stain his shirt, but she was distraught all the same.
