(no subject)

Who: Carlisle Cullen ([livejournal.com profile] suckerdoc) and Jasper Hale ([livejournal.com profile] oh_hale_jasper)
What: Resistance training \o/
When: Uhhh, sometime in the evening, after his run in with Daine at the clinic.
Where: The forest
Rating: Uh. PG?

Carlisle rubbed his neck roughly as he slung the bag over his shoulder. He knew that there was no need to be irritated by people knowing of the families existence as vampires - the Volturi weren't here to punish anyone for knowing and on top of it, none of the residents would even remember once returning to their own worlds, if they happened to reside on Earth. He'd spent so long living as a secret, however, that it was proving difficult to have anyone guessing. Not one but two women had already known what he was without him having known them at all and he was wondering just how many others would know as well.

He had contemplated on all this as he headed off to find Jasper. He had promised to start training with him once the New Year had come. He had the blood packets tucked safely out of sight and he knew that between the plastic bags they were held in and the pack they were stored in, that it was likely not very strong in scent, either.

Eventually coming to the house, he pulled the door open, setting the bag down onto a chair in the living room and clearing his throat some. "Jasper?" He called out, not really looking around, knowing he'd hear him if he was there. "Are you around?"

Jasper had made no attempt to go into the castle or into town ... or anywhere near either one. He'd been staying in the house, holed up though he didn't exactly mind. It was comforting to have their home. It was one of the things here reminding him that he wasn't a monster and that he could rise above it, just like the rest of his family.

He sat up in the room that had been his, reading one of his older school books from the time he spent studying at Cornell. It kept him busy and out of trouble ... and Jasper had always been particularly fond of reading and research anyway.

Jasper looked up at the sound of Carlisle's voice and set the book aside. "I'm here." He called to his 'father' and stood up, walking down the stairs into the living room.

Jasper's jaw tightened when he saw Carlisle holding the blood. He stayed frozen where he stopped halfway down the stairs. His eyes, black with thirst as they had been since his arrival here, stayed fixed on the plastic packet.

"This morning." Jasper replied, though really, the way his eyes looked it certainly didn't look it.

Though Jasper hadn't been in the family as long as the others, he still looked up to Carlisle as a father figure - particularly in terms of guidance where control was concerned. He admired Carlisle, for his complete control over his thirst and had always desired that control ... Though he seriously doubted he'd ever be where Carlisle was.

He paused, hesitantly looking at the plastic bags. "I don't know if I'm ready. But my thirst isn't getting any better ... No time like the present, right?" He asked, forcing a shaky smile onto his face.
