{THREAD: Michiru & Kazama} {INCOMPLETE}

Who Michiru ([livejournal.com profile] michirudash) and Kazama ([livejournal.com profile] sevens_dragunov)
What Kazama shows Michiru how to blow bubbles properly.
Where Outside.
When Right now, I think?
Rating Most likely flufftastically G. XD

Michiru tapped her foot impatiently outside the enormous doors of the castle, occasionally rocking back and forth on her heels in excitement. Being able to blow bubbles properly was something she had always wanted to do - and she could remember trying and failing so many times back in front of the old train station. But she could never get it quite right, and it usually popped right in front of her before she could even get it to float away a little.

She pulled the straw and the bottle of bubble solution out of her shorts pocket, holding it up against the dimming light. She wondered briefly who this Kazama person would be; what he would look like. He seemed like a quiet, calm sort of person - her perfect foil. He reminded her vaguely of someone ... but who? She tried to think about it, but it was taking way too long to remember and she was honestly way too excited right now to be really focusing on anything.

The click-keta-clack as the handle of the door was grasped and turned, then the slow creak of it swinging open. Cool breeze ruffled his hair as Kazama stepped outside, casting about warily in search of the person he'd come to meet. Michiru? A small girl, most likely; she sounded like a young child, still, and most certainly not fit for a strange place like this. Paradisa. A place filled with unusual personas, and not all of them kind - the pistol he had in his pocket was a heavy weight. He'd considered leaving it behind, but couldn't. Precaution was a habit engraved in his mind.

Catching sight of the small figure just beside the door, he paused for a moment before stepping towards her, feet hitting the ground almost noiselessly. Trying not to feel awkward towering over her, he spoke up - quiet, unsure, trying to be kind. "--Michiru?"

So, this was her. A small twinge of relief of not having gotten the wrong person (--people, he was so unused to this--), he bent down to better meet her eye level, something that might have passed for a soft smile on his face. "So you do." Reaching into his pocket, he drew out another straw and bottle-- the servants had been impressively fast. "--I brought some too, though, just in case."

A pause, as he searched for the right words. He'd never been very good with children, had spent too many years fighting and killing. Still, he'd try, at least. She seemed so happy. "--would you like me to show you?"

He'd long since forgotten his childhood - buried under too many unsavory memories - but this was almost nostalgic. Taking a seat on the ground next to her (it hurt to bend down for too long), he dipped the straw in the liquid, then blew gently.

--it worked. A few bubbles came blossoming out of the straw; one or two popped, but the others floated in the air for a while, buffeted by the breeze, and drifted a while away. A quick glance in her direction, almost for approval. Was this what she wanted?

A pause, and he gestured with his straw, feeling more than a little foolish, but trying to explain regardless. "If-- you blow too slowly, it cannot leave the straw." Thinking for a moment, he continued. "Pretend to sigh into the straw."

He sent another series of bubbles floating off, watching as they shimmered the in the sunlight for a few moments before drifting away. Empty like the sky? Strange words for a young child to say. Musing over them for a moment, he glanced over at her, watching her try again.

A moment of silence where he tapped the straw in his hand against the rim of the bottle, wondering how he could explain any better. Not that he was even aware of any techniques to blowing bubbles. Apparently, there was. The bubbles he'd blown popped a bit away.

Reaching out, he gently took her straw, dipping it into the bottle of liquid. His movement careful, he drained away the excess liquid before handing it back to her. "Try again. A little more quickly."

There was a noise that might have passed for a soft laugh as leaned forward to pick up the straw Michiru had dropped, and he watched with her as the bubbled drifted away. And when she turned to him, ecstatic, he nodded - a slight smile on his face for the first time. "Yes, you did."

The look of absolute joy she had on was more than gratifying.

Michiru's happiness was almost infection, and Kazama looked close to content as the girl danced before him - it was endearing how she was so easily pleased. Then, a small start when she grabbed his hand, and he almost flinched - physical contact always made him wary, always - but he managed to hold it down, nodding instead.

The straw she'd dropped was too dirty to use now, so instead, he procured a new one from his pocket, handing it and a bottle of the bubble liquid back to her with an encouraging nod. It almost said 'you can do it, now.' With smooth movement, he blew a few into the air, watching as they drifted away.

Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.
