[Thread] Pink Sno-cones ♥
Who: Kid!Kaylee (
sunshinymech) and Bobby (
freezetagging)
What: General super nice guy meets uber cute kid-ness ♥
When: Today, after Bobby's post
Where: Probably outside
Rating: PG, if not G.
One of the reasons (though certainly not the only) that Bobby needed a distraction was to get himself away from One the White Tiger. And... it had failed. The cryokinetic had been spotted and tackled out of nowhere, nearly scaring him half to death. Of course, he wasn't really maimed (only threatened to be), but who wouldn't be a little freaked out if an 800lbs Tiger had just leapt through the wall and jumped on you?
Straightening himself out a bit, he cautiously opened his door and poked his head out, looking one way and then the other. No sign of Kaylee. Alright, no troubles. Not like the tiger'd go after her, right?
Slinking back a bit, he slumped down into his chair, patting a hand up by his heart. "Man, I've gotta chill." And no, he didn't mean it literally. Sno-cones would be good. Sno-cones made everyone happy. Death was right. Speaking of which, he might as well send his down to him as well. Silently wishing for some syrups (one pink kind and one blue kind), he pressed his palm on the table, forming underneath it a little ice-cup, filled with little icy crystals. He dumped some of the blue stuff on top of it and smiled a bit to admire his work. Hm~ they really were fun.
Standing up, the next movements were quick. Another shuffle to the door, a quick peek to the right, quick peek to the left, and then the hasty wish for a ghost's assistance. "This is for Death~" he said, quickly ushering them away before slamming the door shut again.
Whew~ now to wait for Kaylee to get the 'okay' to come down.

Somehow she remembered his room was two floors down and a door over from where her room would be ... if it were on that floor. Down the stairs she went, managing to get up on the railings a few times to slide backwards down them.
She reached Bobby's door and knocked on it with both hands. "Bobbyyyy! Come out an' plaaay!" All of a sudden her view got turned all funny as she was picked up by the seat of her pants by Addiena.
"Whoa! Hey lemmie go." Kaylee futilely waved her little arms, trying to get the giant white tiger to put her down. This definitely wasn't the first time the tiger had decided to treat her like she was a kitten. "I wanna play with Bobby! Lemmie goooo! Drizzt said okay!" Well, he would have if she had maybe explained where she was bolting off to, instead of just doing it.
Details, details. All her fussing did was cause the cat to sit down, still holding onto Kaylee. Like hell if she was going to release Kaylee until she saw this Bobby being.
no subject
Safe to say when he opened his door, he did not expect to see another big tiger there, much less with a Kaylee hanging out of its mouth by the seat of her pants. "Holy... Kaylee!!" he backed up a bit, practically tripping over his own feet. "Are you-- I mean, what is--" He wasn't even sure how to finish.
Still it somehow seemed to be smaller than One had been. This could be a misconception, seeing as how this tiger was sitting by his door and the last one had been sitting on him. Taking a deep breath, he finally managed to remember the important thing: Kaylee had mentioned her big cats. Casually, at that. It wouldn't hurt him.
"U-um...come in?" he said, somewhat warily, waving a hand behind him to immediately quelch the cool air and the frost against the window-panes.
Wow, was she ever a mess at the moment. "Kaylee, do you... want me to fix your hair before we go out?" Yes, that was definitely better than talking bras.
no subject
"Hiya Bobby this is Addie an' she's my kitty an' she's gonna play too cos Drizzt told her too but that's okay cos she's fun an' a good kitty," she said, all in one breath. She wiggled again, now trying to get the cat to let her go. "Lemmie goooo!"
But instead of letting her go and having her walk in as Bobby had invited them in (kind of), Addiena merely got up and calmly walked past Bobby and into the room, squirming Kaylee still in her grip. She stopped in the middle of the room and finally deposited Kaylee on the ground. The cat started sniffing at Kaylee's rat's nest hair. That Bobby had mentioned her hair after all.
"No no stop!" Kaylee waved her arms at the cat to get her to stop the sniffing and nudging. "Bobby ... you wanna brush my hair? Okay!"
no subject
Bobby wasn't going to interrupt the tiger's mothering with a ten foot pole, so he merely stepped aside to let her take the toddler in. Once Kaylee was finally on her own two feet he smiled a bit.
"Sure, I don't really mind." he said, in regards to her hair. Silently wishing for a hairbrush (since he didn't really need one himself), he bent down a bit. "C'mere a sec. I'm not the greatest at this, but I can put it up at least."
no subject
After all, Bobby was going to fix her hair and that was very important. Tripping wasn't going to halt her mission to get to him. Finally she got to where she was standing right in front of him.
"Can ya use purple hair thingies in my hair pleeease?" She tugged at one of the ruffles on the bottom of her purple top. "Cos ... my top is purple! See?"
no subject
He did, however, laugh when she asked about her 'hair thingies'. "I do see. It looks very pretty on you, Kaylee." he said aloud, whilst wishing for some purple hairties in his head. Hey, he was getting pretty good at that silent wishing today, wasn't he?
"Try to hold still, alright? And I'll try not to pull." he said, before putting the brush to her hair. He went as slowly and gently as possible, trying to think what it was that little girls liked done with their hair. He'd had a little brother, not a sister...
no subject
"Okay. Imma hold real still." And she did stand as still as she could. She always liked getting her hair brushed. Inara would brush her hair too so she had a lot of practice holding still for it.
no subject
He continued to brush her hair carefully, pulling back any disobedient strands trying to slip back in front of her face.
"What do you want done? A ponytail? Or... two ponytails?" He thought he remembered something about those being called pigtails, but oh well. She'd get the point, he hoped.
no subject
She started to fidget a bit with a ruffle as he kept brushing her hair, but otherwise she was very still.
Her fidgeting stopped when she realized he was letting her pick something. "Ummm ..." She looked at the fingers of one hand for a moment before triumphantly holding up two fingers. "Two!"
no subject
He laughed again, brushing some hair back to hold it in his opposite hand. "Alright, two it is." he agreed, trying his best to part her hair right down the middle. It took a couple of tries but he finally got it.
Carefully, he pulled one side up and fastened it in one of the purple ties. Then he gave it a quick brush to make it look nice. After that, he did the same thing to the other side, laying the brush down beside him once he was done. "There you go. Looks much better now."
no subject
Once he had finished putting her hair up she moved her head experimentally, seeing how the pigtails felt. One hand reached up to touch one. They were nice and now her hair wasn't going to get in the way anymore. Very important since they were going to play and all.
She smiled brightly at Bobby. "Thaaaaank you! Can we play now?"
no subject
Bringing himself up to his full height again, he nodded with a little smile. "Sure, do you want to play outside?" he asked, before casting a glance to that white tiger. Maybe would be best to be outside with her anyway. Not to mention, he didn't want to expose either of them to that other tiger...
In fact... might be better if they hurried up and got out of there.
no subject
She reached up and grabbed one of Bobby's hands and started tugging him very purposefully toward the door. "Addie you come an' play outside too!" She motioned to the white tiger with her free hand. The cat stretched and got up, making quick work of walking to the door.
The bedroom door was a bit of a problem for Kaylee, attempting to open it one-handed and all as she hadn't let go of Bobby's yet. She huffed a little, pouted at the door (how DARE it be heavy for her and hard to open!), let go of Bobby's hand and gave it another try. There, door open!
"Yay! Okay outside!"
no subject
"Got it?" he laughed when she took a go at the door and finally managed to get it open. Casting a (still somewhat wary) glance back at the tiger, he crouched down for a second, holding his hands out.
"Kaylee if you don't mind, I'm going to give you a ride down there alright?" he said, before scooping the little girl up into his arms. No offense to her newly shortened legs, but he really did want to get out of his 'neighborhood' so to speak.
Once she was safely in his arms, he took off for the stairwell.
no subject
Kaylee had been picked up and carried who knew how many times already, by both humans (and non-humans) and giant cats. Sometimes she put up a fuss, most notably when it was bedtime, but most times she didn't. It was fun being carried around and she could do more looking around and such too.
So she just smiled at Bobby and held up her arms when he said he was going to give her a ride downstairs. "Okay! Up!"
When she was all settled in and had her little arms around his neck she looked behind them. Addiena was following close behind. Good. When they were outside she could show Bobby what she did sometimes to get around the castle on her own.
Since staircases were boring she alternated between watching the cat go down the stairs, occasionally waving at her, and looking around to see if she'd recognize anyone.
This was so the way to travel.
no subject
"Are you hungry?" he asked then. Sno-cones, he hadn't forgotten. Although he did suddenly remember he forgot the flavoring. The castle wishing would come in handy for that. Just a little pause, and it could probably end up right there in his pocket.
When they did get to the bottom floor, he quickly looked from side to side before he wasted no more time in going outside. Another great day... no surprise there.
no subject
"We gonna get food too Bobby? Okay!" Bobby had good ideas after all. Fixing her hair, playing outside so of course getting some food was a good idea too. It was only logical (... sort of).
She didn't give it a second thought as they finally made it outside. It was a very nice day out and that made her even happier. After all, a nice day meant they could spend plenty of time outside playing. She watched as Addiena happily moved around them. She always did like it when Kaylee took her outside to stretch out and run some even though technically she didn't need to as she was from another plane and all. But it was fun to.
Kaylee started squirming a bit, wanting to get down and join Addiena. "Down now?" she asked Bobby.
no subject
"Well, do you know what a sno-cone is, Kaylee?" Bobby asked, taking her squirming as a hint and carefully setting her down. "They're really popular where I'm from. I can make you one if you want."
He figured there would be enough to do outside. The castle had everything inside, so why not outside too? Admittedly, he'd never given it much a look. He'd only been out there to ice skate with the adult Kaylee, and beat the crap out of Pyro. Not much scenary viewing involved in that.
no subject
As soon as her feet were back on the ground she intercepted Addiena when she had gotten in front of them. And by intercepted it meant that she nearly did a tackle hug move on the cat. Addiena played along by flopping over at the right time so that it appeared like a five year old knocked down a 600lb tiger. After a bit of playing around Kaylee turned back to Bobby.
"Can Addie have a sno-cone too?"
no subject
Bobby smiled at Kaylee, nodding his head. "Of course. I hope pink is okay." he had a feeling that she would have liked it. Even the grown Kaylee seemed to be pretty fond of the color.
As for whether or not Addie could have one, he had no idea how to answer that question. At least by now he could see that she definitely wasn't a threat. "Well, sno-cones are really sweet. Is that okay for a kitty Kaylee?" he asked, before holding his hand out, palm up. Slowly another little ice-cup began to form and, waving his other hand over the top, the little ice crystals filled it up. He might have to hold it for her if the cup got too cold, but it shouldn't have been a whole lot different than holding any other sort of cold treat.
no subject
She was scratching behind Addiena's ears when Bobby brought up how sno-cones were and if it'd be okay for a kitty. "It's okay cos I gave Addie cookies an' chips an' some of my sammich," she said matter-of-factly. "But I got in trouble cos I wasn't supposed to give her some of my sammich. Guennie an' Addie are maaagical so they can eat more than other kitties."
When Bobby started making the ice-cup she stopped her playing and just watched, face all full of wonder.
"Wooow."
no subject
"Well I won't tell if you give a little to Addie, alright?" he replied.
Bobby grinned then as she watched the mini-show take place in the palm of his hand. "Neat, huh?" he said, before dumping just the right amount of syrup on top and handing it down to Kaylee.
"Be careful, alright? It's real cold."
no subject
"Yea! Do it again!" She held out her hands to accept the sno-cone. Once it was in her hands she brought it close to her face, staring at it in wonder. It was a bit cold though so she sort of shifted it in her hands. Well there was always one way she could deal with the cold.
She raised the sno-cone to her mouth and experimentally licked at it, paused and licked at it again.
"Oooooooooo strawberry! Yummy!"
no subject
Once Kaylee had hers in hand and had taken a bite, he smiled. "Yep, strawberry. One of the best flavors if you ask me." he said with a sage nod that only a child would appreciate.
Holding out the palm of his hand again, he lowered it closer to Kaylee's level so she could see. "Ready?" he asked, slowly allowing the ice to form in all its crackling glory.
no subject
Kaylee distractedly continued to work at her sno-cone as she watched a second one form in Bobby's palm. "Woooow. Look Addie! Bobby's makin' a sno-cone!" The tiger watched, but mostly just to humor the kid as she had seen more than her fair share of magic and other tricks. It came from having a previous owner that was a wizard after all.
"Bobby, ya gonna have a sno-cone too?" she asked. Kaylee very much approved of everyone having sweets as that was related to having fun.
"We gonna run an' play after, riiiight?" After being the key word as there was no way she was just abandoning the sweet sno-cone in her hands.
no subject
Not sure what to think about a tiger actually watching him make a sno-cone, he just focused on what he was doing, filling that second cup of ice with little frosty crystals, and topping it all off with some of that pink syrup. He didn't put too much on because he wasn't quite sure what... a magical tiger's tastes where like. "Here you go."
He smiled some then. "Sure I'll have one too." Can't say no to sno-cones. One more time, he set to making a little dish of ice. "Of course we can." he agreed to 'playing' afterward. At least, for a little while couldn't hurt.
no subject
The cat sniffed at the little dish before licking at the flavored ice crystals, using just enough of her tongue that she didn't accidentally eat up the whole sno-cone and potentially ruin Kaylee's fun. After all the kid was highly amused by the ice treat. It was best to play along. The ice really did taste like the fruits Kaylee was so fond of, and had fed to her on several occasions. So she licked at it again, causing Kaylee to giggle as she set back to work on her own sno-cone.
The sight was almost similar to that of a kid holding out an ice cream cone for a dog, only substitute an ice dish and a very large cat.
"Bobby ... you pick where we go first okay?" She grinned up at him. "We can explore an' find things an' an' run!"
