Dante closes his journal and picks up his jacket. Two fights in less than three days was good. At least things were getting interesting now. Not that the fight with Vincent wasn't interesting, but that's a different story.

He walks out of his room, tossing the teddy bear still sitting outside his room - a recently added "ADOPT ME" sign put on by Dante himself - an eye roll and continues on his way.

He gets down to the first floor in a matter of a minute and a half. Ignoring his stomach grumbles in protest - obviously it remembered how much energy he used in his earlier fight - he continues down to the gardens. The only reason he knew where they were was looking at the grounds from the roof.

Kougaiji was actually already in the elevator as the journal conversation wrapped up. With a smirk, he closes the journal, setting it on a table top as he walks out of the elevator, through the castle, and outside. Who would steal a journal anyway, considering they all had one?

He stands just to the right of the garden entrance, arms crossed, looking around for any sign of his opponent.

Dante spots a man standing with his arms crossed at the garden. He fit the description, so Dante assumed he was the one. If not, oh well. But how many red-haired, pointy-eared guys wore blue jackets?

The guy looked fit, at least. Not like he sounded like a pussy, but he was fit. Fit to fight at least. Dante smirks to himself. This should be fun.

He tips his head in greeting as approaching the man. "Kougaiji, I'm guessin'?"

Kougaiji looks up upon hearing his name. Hair, boots, coat... it all fit. He gives the other a bit of a smirk and a nod. "That means you must be Dante." He stands up a bit straighter.

"That's me. So any ground rules you wanna lay down before we get goin'?" Adrenaline was already starting to pour itself into his system. A tiny spark of electric power gimmered below it, threatening to get set loose if need be. Fights always got him pumped.

Kougaiji shakes his head. "I'm not picky. Just... stop if someone says stop, I guess." He gives Dante a half-smirk. "I'm not looking to kill anyone, or get myself killed for that matter."

"Smart plan." He steps back to give the man room, rolling his shoulders back. "I'll give you the honors of starting." A smug smile played at his lips.

This was going to be fun.

"Sure," Kougaiji answers.

He wastes no time. He rushes at Dante, claws ready, and quickly swings, quietly muttering a small chant under his breath to prepare himself for later...

Dante dodges easily, moving to the side. He clunks the other man on the head with his fist and jumps out of the way. He would have to see what the man was capable of before drawing on his power to attack truly.

Kougaiji blocks, using his raised hand to shift his weight and aim a kick at Dante's gut. Simultaneously, he moves in closer, striking with his claws again.

Dante makes a 'tsk'ing sound with his tongue and blocks the kick, grabbing the kick with his fist. He throws a punch beyond the other guy's talons, aimed at his jaw. He ignores the bite as nails scrape across his cheek.

To minimize the damage, Kougaiji rolls with the punch and twists his head to the side. He twists the rest of his body with it, bringing his elbow into Dante's chest and his other foot to his knee. He comes out of the spin with an upper-cut to Dante's jaw.

Dante kicks his head back with the punch, and then snaps it back forwards. He grabs the man's leg, twisting the ankle and swinging the man around. Looks like he'd need to draw on some power.

The electricity surges through his system and the adrenaline pulsates. He threw a punch to the man's stomach. It should hit with enough force to double him over, at least for a second while Dante could get better footing.

The punch connects and Kougaiji stumbles backward momentarily, but his youkai reflexes kick in quickly. He drops to the ground, all of his weight on his arms, and brings his leg around in a sweeping kick.

He'd have to kick it up a notch. His eyes narrow in concentration as he begins chanting under his breath again, waiting for a decent moment.

Dante jumps back as Kougaiji drops down, narrowly missing the kick. He tilts his head in confusion as he hears the chants. Witchcraft?

He moves in quickly, using his devil power to increase his speed. He kicks out as he gets within distance, shifting his weight so he can back up if need be.

Kougaiji springs into a backflip to narrowly miss the kick. Fire surrounds his fists, and he kicks off the ground after landing. He begins furiously and repeatedly striking at Dante.

Dante stands still and lets the hits connect with his body, smirking when the fire catches on his clothes. 'Oh man,' he thinks to himself, 'you have got to be crazy for thinking this...'

Just as before, he takes off the power cap of his devil power, letting the fire flow in his veins. His shape morphs, wings of fire spreading from his back. He throws another kick and punch towards his opponent.

Kougaiji's eyes widen at the sudden appearance of wings, and he can't help but grin a bit. He blocks the punch, but the kick connects, causing him to take a more defensive position and backpedal a few steps. "Impressive," he remarks, flicking his wrists to dispel the fire around his hands. He remains still, waiting to see what Dante plans to do now...

The beast Dante smirks, and wings lift up until he is in the air. Being faster in his devil form reall was convenient in these types of situations. True, he couldn't dispell any fire, but he was quick enough to set some fire to the other mans clothes.

He flew down in a dive, one of his wings brushing against the man's jacket while his hand throws a quick punch at him.

He didn't have much longer to hold onto this form.

Kougaiji absorbs the fire into his own body, storing it alongside his own magic. He blocks the punch, though his arm takes enough of the damage that he's forced to drop his guard momentarily. He quickly regains himself and pulls himself out of the way of the dive and behind Dante, kicking off of the ground and then kicking and clawing at his back.

Dante goes up into the air, a higher altitude, to dive again. This time he lands quickly right before the man, strinking punch after punch with a few kicks thrown in. His power trembles. He wouldn't be able to sustain this for more than a few minutes longer.

But he'd be damned if he lost to someone with pointy ears.

Kougaiji takes the first few blows, but quickly throws up his guard against the rest. He waits for the first sign of an opening and begins countering, forcing Dante backwards a bit as he begins his own barrage of rapid blows--he sticks to a random pattern to keep from becoming predictable, then finishes by kicking off of the ground to ram his elbow into Dante's solar plexus.

'Aw, shit!' Dante thinks, the beast growling on the outside. 'He did not just do that!' He takes to the air, using his last burst of devil power to envelop the other in a sort of fire grasp before managing to grab onto him. He wraps his arms around the other's shoulders, applying the brute strength he has left to make the other yell stop. If he didn't say something soon, the beast might break his arm or something.

Kougaiji winces, but says nothing. He grits his teeth, enduring the pain, when his eyes begin glowing an eerie black. His arms may be bound, but his legs, still free, could move. He swings his legs with as much force as he can put behind them, kicking over, and over...

Dante feels his grip slipping, and lets the man drop the four feet to the ground. He flies over to a spot some six feet away, letting the form slip back into his human shape. He was tired. Very tired.

But he would not lose. He put up his fists, taking a defensive stance against the charge he knew was coming.

((OoC: It almost feels hypocritical to reply to this now--if you just want to imply something after this instead of continuing, that's fine. I am so sorry I lost track... ._. ::feels bad:: ))

Kougaiji falls, landing hard on his left arm--the last thing he needs. He winces at the sickening crack it makes. The pressure and strength from behind caught in a grip like that, and then landing on it after a fall? There was no way it wasn't broken...

He slowly stands, raising his good arm about halfway beside his head. "I'm gonna have to stop," he reluctantly surrenders, giving Dante a bit of a grin. "I definitely had fun, but I don't want to keep going and risk further injuries."

Dante stands down, bowing his head in understanding. "No big, man. It was fun." He rubs a shoulder.

"Just...don't tell anyone about the whole transforming thing. Trying to keep it on the DL, ya know?"

"You have my word, no one will know." Kougaiji's grin strengthens a bit as he closes the distance and extends his right hand. "We should do this again if things ever get stressful. Or boring, for that matter."

Dante shakes his hand, smirking ever-so-slightly. "Yeah. I always find fights to be enjoyable. Just drop me a message."
