Who: Ruby, the cat
What: the cat is a kitten and Ruby needs to go make sure he's okay... cuz he's a kitten.
When: Now
Where: the cat's room to the forest
Rating: PG-13 for Ruby's potty mouth.
Ruby sighed gustily and rose from her position atop her journal. "I'm going out, Pup." She didn't scream the announcement for once and she wasn't rude about it. This was mostly becauseh she sort of suspected she'd be coming home with another kitten. She looked at her little gray tabby. "Be good, Maia," She said before hopping out the window in front of her. She lifted her nose as she flew and breathed deeply, searching through the millions of scents around her for the cat's. There.
With a flick of her wings she dove toward the ground, circling around and shooting in the front doors of the castle. The cat appeared to be in the library.
It took her a couple minutes of working at the door handle with her paws to get it open and when she did she slipped inside and landed, folding her wings tightly to her back.
"Cat?!" she called curiously then grinned, "kitty, kitty, kitty..."
Oh god..she didn't have to MEOW did she? She couldn't really do that very well. She waited for an answer then with an angry look on her face opened her mouth and let out a loud mew. It had a strangely fluttery sound to it, almost like a bird... but it was still recognizably a mew.

Tiny black ears perked as he heard the library door open, and then a voice he recognized began to call out. He hesitated, not sure whether it was safe to break cover, but it was the mew that did it. It was strange, and definitely not a normal cat-sound, but it was close enough.
Mewing loudly in reply, he had ran, half stumbled out from under the chair and towards the source of the sound.

She reached her back paw up and scratched behind her ear to give her a chance to think. Part of her was asking why the hell she'd thought it would be a good idea to come down here. Another part of her, the nicer part of her that didn't really emerge terribly often.
She looked at the kitten and flicked the end of her tail thoughtfully. "You're little," She finally managed to say. This was really strange. She had to say she was glad this kitten apparently didn't have any memories of Paradisa. That would be disturbing.

Yeah, debating skills apparently came with age.
Still poofed out, legs planted wide for balance, the kitten suddenly looked up at Ruby, head tilted to the side in curiosity. Had he been his usual self, he would never have dreamed of even murmuring the words that he spoke next.
"You're a weird lookin' cat."

Breathe, she told herself, breathe. He didn't know any better. There would be no destroying of kittens.
She closed her eyes and forced herself to relax for a moment before sitting up quite straight and puffing out her fringe fur proudly. "I am not a cat," she said matter of factly before she stretched out one of her wings to be examined if the kitten wished. "I am a dragon. Cats just sort of look like us."

The force of the resulting sneeze was enough to send him teetering off balance to land on his rear, blinking and pawing furiously at his nose.
"Dragons smell funny."

"And it's because we have magic, of course," she said with little grin down at him. She leaned down like she was going to tell him a fantastic secret, "Magic smells funny," She said to him in a low tone.

"Magic?" He knew what that was. If there was one things cats knew, it was the supernatural. The cats education when he was young had included a brief introduction into identifying and dealing with That Which Does Not Belong To This World. After all, he'd been raised a proper cat.
"Mother told us about magic! She said magic things were different from regular stuff, but she didn't say it smelled like that." he paused, and looked thoughtful for a moment. "This place is weird. I think it's magic. Why doesn't it smell like you?"

She nodded to him, "This place is just a different kind of magic I guess. I don't know what's up with it to be honest. It's weird." She wrinkled her nose at him to emphasize the point.
She then flicked up her tail and stood, "Anyway, kid, you hungry? I've got a big hankering for some trout about now."
