[Log] Break your toys

Who: Axel ([livejournal.com profile] flurry_of_fire) and Skin Boric ([livejournal.com profile] originalwrath)
What: Skin's an opportunist. Axel is his unfortunate target. A slaughter ensues.
When: Last night.
Where: Starts in Axel's room, then moves outside .. through the window.
Rating: Uhhh. .. PG-15, kinda? For cursing and lots of, uh. Bone breaking.

Axel would be the first to admit he felt almost lonely inside his room.

It had been literally days since he’d seen Kanda, and the redhead held no desire to bug Sora as of late, mostly because of Roxas. Someone needed to keep watch over the blond, and Sora promised Axel he would. And heaven forbid Axel became bored enough to knock on Tyki’s door because of this. He still simmered over being tricked into drinking, never mind the fact he accepted the drinking challenge freely. Little details that didn’t make a difference.

Still, a little company sounded damn fine right then. It annoyed Axel to know he depended so much on people, but realized he could only get so far alone. It was his nature to select specific people and cling to them selfishly, and understood the ache in his chest was a result of that flaw. Didn’t matter if he got angry; the fact still stood he wanted someone to be around.

“Guess it’s just you and me, Kit,” Axel told his kitten, who lay curled up in a ball on his stomach, purring gently. He smiled at that, not expecting any response from her, and let his head rest against the pillows of his bed and be cradled by his hand. Well, he corrected himself, he wasn’t completely alone. Kit made for wonderful company: She always agreed with him, never complained (unless hungry or bored), and gave him enough love to drown in. Really, everything he wanted at the moment.

Feeling a little bit more content with life, Axel let his eyes slip closed. Just a little nap to soothe the nerves and waste away time…

Bored. Bored, bored, fucking bored.

Skin punched in his wall for the eleventh time. The more he did it, the less satisfying it was, and the less satisfying it was, well... With a "che" he cracked his knuckles and simply left the room in decimated shambles, as usual. It would be fixed by the time he got back.

Without even realizing, Skin idly gnawed on a finger as he walked. Fuck, bored. The Earl's orders to leave the exorcists alone were REALLY getting to Skin. He was getting really fucking antsy and he wasn't going to wait much longer for shit to happen. Family reunion or what the fuck ever, Skin didn't care. As long as he got to kill something.

But so far, he hadn't been allowed to kill anything yet.

With a roar he randomly lashed out and punched the wall beside him, embedding his arm half a foot deep into the stone. Flatly, he glanced over to see whose door he had almost knocked down .... and instantly, a sick, sadistic grin spread across his face at the letters on the nameplate. "That looks familiar," he said to no one, pulling his arm out of the wall to face the door. Skin wasn't really one for subtlety, when it came down to it. Nor was he one for waiting. Without any ado whatsoever he broke down Axel's door with the power of a stampeding bulldozer, enough to send the door actually flying across the room, and walked in after it, glancing around for his prey.

Axel’s eyes flew open but he didn’t move, staying situated on his bed while the door banged up against a wall. Well talk about surprises… Every muscle went on high alert, and unconsciously he readied himself to open a portal if necessary. He wasn’t above fleeing the scene if provoked.

Kit, on the other hand, had different ideas on how to approach this. The gray kitten practically jumped out of her own fur from the noise, and once seeing the intruder approach into her room, began hissing an outrage. She jumped off Axel’s belly and onto the bed, ears back, tail erect, and eyes dripping venom. Not stupid enough to go charging but determined to ward him off nonetheless, she bared her claws and teeth and hissed again.

“Kit, get back here,” Axel growled under his breath, and now he moved, picking up his cat while keeping all eyes on Skin. The man (or mini mountain, is what he should’ve been called) didn’t ring any bells, not that Axel concerned himself with matching a face.

“Sorry, I’m wasn’t expecting guests today,” Axel stated passively, and began to move backwards on the bed with his reluctant kitten. “If I’d known, maybe would’ve stopped by the kitchen for some chocolate.”

It took only a moment for Skin to spot his target laying on the bed, unmoving despite the destruction the flying door had caused. Immediately Skin felt a twinge of irritation - the human hadn't even twitched! - and was about to make good on it... when Kit's hissing caught his attention. He blinked at the cat, then watched it passively with a flat expression on his face. He was very, very tempted to pick the thing up and fling it against a wall, but decided against it. He had bigger prey to kill.

"I'm no guest of yours, human," Skin stated, a twisted grin on his face. That insane, horrifying grin only Noah could pull off. "You're friends with that idiot exorcist Kanda Yuu." Skin took a few steps forward, eyes locked on his target. "Heheheh... think he'll come looking?" With that he launched a fist at Axel. He had every intention of making this quick.

The mystery man gave himself away then… Damn it, a Noah. Family member of Tyki. Last kind of person Axel wanted to see after his little bout with Allen. Fuckin' damn it, why couldn’t he keep these guys off his back? Axel half-wished he’d learn how to not agitate people who could apparently kill him.

The moment Skin launched at him, Axel warped himself off the bed and to a corner, Kit still held in his arms. He didn’t dare let her go, for fear she’d fling herself at the intruder. “Who’s Kanda?” Axel asked blandly, expression never changing. “And shouldn’t you be plotting the destruction of humans instead of picking on me?” He kept flat to the wall and debated frying the guy's ass or retreating. A portal would take bare seconds to conjure up; escaping would be a piece of cake. Plus, Skin apparently had muscle on him, so a few good hits and Axel was out...

But the guy looked slow. Very slow. A slow smirk covered his face. No way he'd be able to even get in those proper hits. And no one barged into his room without some third degree burns as souvenirs.

Skin whirled around when Axel portaled, taken completely by surprise. The emotion registered on his face for only a split second, though, before he settled back into something like bored indifference.

"Hmph," was all he said in response to Axel's question. He remembered the exorcist's reactions to his threats. That was all he needed to know. "You are human," Skin flatly pointed out. He was already getting bored of this stupid little human who apparently had a few tricks up his sleeve. But so did Skin. He knew the impression his bulky appearence gave him. Which is why, just then, he favored Axel with a close-lipped smile.

Then suddenly he was behind Axel, like he'd been there all along, and his fist connected solidly with the back of Axel's head. Not hard enough to kill him or break his neck, of course; maybe just give him one hell of a splitting headache. Skin wanted to have a little fun with his toy before it snapped. The Earl couldn't blame him too badly if just one got broken, right? Not that big of a loss.

Axel’s heart probably stopped beating for a tick when Skin disappeared right in front of him, and his eyes widened slightly. Not a good sign. He only managed to murmur out a harsh “Shit!” before the world exploded into color and he fell the ground from the force. Quickly he twisted his body before impact, just so Kit wouldn’t be crushed underneath his weight.

Okay, so the guy was fast. He’d have to pick the speed up a notch once the room stopped spinning.

Kit clung to his shirt, scared shitless from being tosses with her master, and now Axel desperately tried to get her off him. He couldn't fight with her near him; he'd be too busy trying to keep her safe. His brain ricocheted around his skull and the redhead bit back a groan of pain. Damn it, he had to get off the ground, now.

Skin watched Axel go down with something like digust. The way the human twisted - to protect the cat? Pathetic.

He saved Axel the trouble of getting up and grabbed the idiot by the shirt collar, easily lifting him off the floor, cat and all.

"Not so cocky now, huh, human?" Skin asked, clearly derisive. He was enjoying this. He was starting to think maybe he'd drag it out... just to see the worthless piece of shit squirm and beg for his life.

He felt first his shirt, then next his neck, spine, legs being lifted up off the ground, a mere rag doll, and Axel hung loosely in Skin’s grasp, refusing to squirm like some worm on a hook. Instead he graced the Noah with the same, almost superior blank expression as before. Maybe because he'd faced a Noah before and lived, but Axel felt void of fear and unwilling to give in.

“Che, idiot,” he murmured, and without further ado, wrenched Kit off his shirt and tossed her somewhere behind them. He waited until he heard the sound of paws hitting the floor (good thing cats landed on their feet) before turning his attention back to the matter at hand. “If you can die, you might as well be human too.”

The air around Skin rose to a feverish temperature, and flames erupted from the floor, fast and hard enough to hit the ceiling on their ascent, and the fire engulfed its meal.

Skin merely grunted in reply to being called an idiot. He raised Axel higher in preparation for simply flinging him at the wall, but arched a brow when Axel ripped the cat off his shirt and simply .... tossed it. Heh. Maybe this human would be entertaining after all.

That "maybe" changed to a "definitely" when he felt the air temperature around him spike. "What did you--" was all Skin managed to say before the fire devoured him.

But his arm did not lower, and his hand did not let go of Axel's shirt.

After a moment Skin simply stepped out of the column of fire, smoke and steam pouring off his body, taking Axel with him. But now something had drastically changed. Gone was the Noah's human appearence, along with his usual long coat. In their place was a creature that had skin like sheet rock and beady white eyes; a golem. Black scorch marks covered his armor-like skin, though he didn't seem to notice or care. Skin rolled his head around on his shoulders, cracking his neck, and graced Axel with a snake-like grin. "Was that supposed to hurt?" he asked, grin widening as he began to laugh. Then he did what he'd been wanting to do this entire time and forcefully threw Axel at the far wall.

Axel knew he heard a few bones cracking when he hit the wall, and swallowed back the shout of pain that threatened to escape. He hung, suspended by the indent of himself in the wall, then gravity took over and he fell face first, his front slapping harshly against the floor. Whatever ribs that had cracked before, now plainly snapped like twigs.

He didn’t stay down, though, forcing himself to stand through the pain and glare heatedly at Skin. He almost wanted to demand a fairer fight where he at least knew the skills of his opponent. How the hell was he to know this Noah could turn into some stone golem? This fight looked too rigged in Skin’s favor.

And fuck, still couldn’t call his chakrams out. If he lived through this, Axel would demand lessons from Marluxia.

A sudden hissing called his attention again, and Axel briefly, yet stupidly turned to see Kit between his legs. He quickly, and gently as possible, kicked her out of the way. She could hate him later when her Mommy wasn’t in a dire situation.

Skin allowed himself a jagged smile at the sound of bones snapping and cracking. It was a sound he'd oh so missed hearing.

To say the fight was rigged in Skin's favor was an immense understatement. The Noah hadn't even bothered calling his thunder yet. Although he should have noticed something was amiss... at the moment, he was having too much fun watching his prey writhe.

He arched a brow when the idiot kitten came back to defend its master. Skin just stared for a moment, then he burst into loud, wild laughter. "Human, I have to admit," he said, stepping forward, "even if you are just a piece of trash, you're pretty fuckin' funny." Again he grabbed Axel - this time, by the throat. Not hard enough to cut off his breathing entirely; just hard enough so that he wouldn't be able to protest too much for A) lack of air and B) snapping his own spine by struggling too wildly.

From there Skin dragged Axel over to the window, which he blew out (along with a portion of the wall) with a single punch. Readjusting his grip on Axel (can't kill him yet, can't kill him yet), Skin leaped out the newfound hole in the wall, taking Axel with him.

If Skin had hoped Axel would be a good boy and not struggle, he was sorely mistaken. The redhead kicked and flared his power, but to no avail. Skin’s armor was too thick for even his flames to cut through, and the lack of oxygen severely shorted out his energy. Already spots began to dance in front of his eyes, and Axel quickly screwed them shut.

Then a moment of suspended animation before he let out a choke from the impact; his throat muscles stretched to the point Axel for sure thought the skin would tear. Finally he forced himself still, opening his eyes and continuing to glare with barely suppressed rage at his opponent. He would’ve talked, alright, except his lungs were too busy bringing in what little air they could, hoping to sustain his consciousness. So he let his gaze do his talking, damning Skin to any hell that would kill the Noah.

Skin simply didn't react to the little human's flailings. They were annoying, but meant less than nothing to him. He'd shut the idiot up soon enough.

Skin held Axel just high enough so that he didn't hit the ground when Skin landed, after plummeting five stories. The Noah straightened, then simply began to walk, still holding Axel by the neck. "You're going to be my bait, human," he said, smiling thinly, though he kept his gaze directed ahead. "I can't wait to see that idiot exorcist come running... heheheh."

Something snapped at those words, and Axel struggled harder. It couldn’t be known whether he was trying to kill himself through exhaustion or was honestly trying to get away, but Skin struck a nerve. He hated being so thoroughly overpowered like this, but hated being bait even more. And now that he knew Kanda's life was in danger, he struggled all the more in an attempt to get away.

“F-fucker,” he gasped out. “L-let go!” Both hands scratched and clawed at the hand holding him even while he began to fade in and out of the world from lack of air.

Skin began to laugh. It started low and quiet but quickly escalated to something frightening and insane. His grip neither wavered nor loosened. In fact, he tightened it a little. "EXACTLY!" he roared, the deadly Noah smile sneaking back onto his face. "That is exactly the reaction I wanted, human. Now shut up." Skin briefly released Axel - only long enough to launch one last punch at his head, more than enough to knock him out.

Once Axel was down, Skin bodily lifted him with a single arm, slung him over his shoulder, and walked off across the grounds, chuckling to himself as he did so.
