Who: Reno and Kadaj
What: Kadaj seeks out information on "Father" while Reno stubbornly refuses
When: After this discussion
Where: Reno's room
Rating: PG-13 probably due to swearing, threats, whatever else goes on
He had honestly tried it the nice way. He should've guessed that anyone from Shinra would be unwilling to cooperate with him. Still, it was very frustrating. He took Souba along with him to help with convincing the stubborn redhead. Kadaj had to search to find out where the redhead was staying. After finding out the right floor and room, he set off.
Kadaj was fairly sure Reno didn't know yet that Kadaj had lost Mother. He was hoping to use that, and also hoping that Reno didn't somehow find out the truth. It would be much harder for Kadaj to get what he wanted if he was less intimidating. He still had Souba, so that was something. He headed up to Reno's door. Rather than knocking, Kadaj kicked at the door until it opened. for him.

Why hadn't he just told Kadaj about Hojo, the guy that had created Sephiroth to begin with? Reno knew all of that, sure not every detail but enough to give Kadaj something. The rational human side of him was telling him just to say it before he ended up being tortured or dead. But-- Reno was a turk, the protector of ShinRa's secrets. And considering his opinion on the silver haired guy, old habits died hard.
He could just only hope the guy didn't start getting violent. Even without his mother friggin' head (which he couldn't have had, otherwise why would he had demanded that information from Reno when he first got here?), Reno was certain Kadaj to beat the shit out of him. Reno's best hope was to delay the guy long enough to figure out a way to get the hell out.
Then the door came flying open, with no surprise at whow as kicking it down. Reno gave the guy a look that said nothing but 'what the fuck?!'. He quickly composed yourself. "That sure didn't take long yo."
Fucking door having his name on it. He knew that would bite him in the ass someday.

Not difficult, was it? It wouldn't take Reno any time at all, and then Kadaj would be on his way.

He returned a smirk right back at Kadaj. "And my answer is still the same," then he leaned back further into his chair and put his hands (one with EMR in hand) on the back of his head). "And next time, just use the door knob. You'll freak out the bird." Or, not come at all. That would be better.

"Are you sure you don't want to tell me?" Kadaj wondered. "It would be so much easier on you if you did... and less painful." He smiled at this, tapping his swordhilt hintingly. He had his eyes fixed on the redhead's EMR, his body tense in case Reno decided to strike. "You know how persistent I am. I've given you plenty of chances on this, which is more than I should after you tricked us about Mother. Now, for the last time, tell me what I want to know."

A sane person would give in, he told himself. Tell him as little as possible and then let the freak of nature be on his merry way.
But it seemed the Turk stubbornness in him was a lot louder than his voice of sanity.
He looked the guy in the eye. "I know what you can do," He remembered Elena and Tseng's torture. He had no intention of ending up like that. "But...I'm not sure how the people of the castle will feel if you decided to torture a guy. They seem like a rightous bunch of people," He really hoped Kadaj cared about that enough to reconsider the pain option. "With something like beating me for information, they might decide you're a bad guy."

"All I want is to know who Father is!" Kadaj snapped, slamming his fist against the door. It was very frustrating trying to get information from this guy. He didn't want to resort to violence, but Reno was being so stubborn! "Stop stalling and TELL ME!"

It was then he came up with a idea. It was an absolutely insane idea and the chances of it working as very very low. But-- he had to try to something.
"Alright yo," he said stretching his arms and leaning forward in his chair. "I'll tell you," then he smirked. "But we do it on my terms."

It was a pack of cards.
"Ever played poker, Kadaj?" he asked with his lips curling into a smile. Yep, this was his brillant plan to survive with his dignity intact. A horrible one, but he had no choice.
And what could he say? He was bored too.

"You wish to play a game with me? And if I play, you will tell me about Father?"
no subject
"Something like that," he said with a smirk. "You win a hand of poker? I'll tell you what you want to know," Yep, just the name. Reno sure wasn't going to give more information than he needed to. He had his pride as a turk to maintain. "If I win, you go away and don't pester me for a week. Sound fair?"
no subject
"I suppose if that's the best solution you can think of, I will agree." Of course he would just be back in a week if he lost.
