Who: Sokka and Suki
What: Complaining about Zuko, and other things.
Where: Sokka's room, Suki's room
When: Night of the Menos attack
Rating: PG-13, for heavy petting

Unfortunately in her intial rush to get downstairs, Suki had run headlong into one of WilyKat's paint-traps. One of the paint-traps he had warned her about. Annoyed with herself, she decided that it wouldn't be the smoothest move ever to go to Sokka's room covered in yellow paint. So she washed up (which took far, far too long) and finally rushed to his room, still in a foul mood. She knocked on his door and waited.

There was a giant HOLE in his wall. Out of complete nowhere, while Sokka had been showering, he had heard a huge booming noise, several of them actually, and came running out of his bathroom (in a towel, thankfully), to see that the wall facing the hallway was completely obliterated. Since then, he had been standing there in silent rage (in a towel), staring at the hole in his wall, thinking of what kind of dumb joke this could possibly be. When he heard the knock, he figured it was Suki and stepped out into the hallway, taking note of several large holes in the hallway floor on the far side. He raised one arm in a weak wave. "Hi. Suki. You didn't have to knock."

She didn't know what to stare at first--the hole in the wall, or Sokka in a towel. Suddenly her frustration seemed...rather insignificant. With the hole in the wall. What had she missed during her shower? She took a step inside. "I was afraid I might catch you indisposed." She grinned down at the towel and then pointed to the hole behind them. "Um--what happened?"
things go splode: He blinked. "There's some monster on the loose, apparently. It's ripping holes everywhere. And of course, I just had to be a victim." Sokka gave a sigh in frustration and stepped back into his room, motioning for Suki to follow. "Here, let me just change and I'll be with you in a sec." He flung open his closet and grabbed the first few things, then went back into the bathroom to change.

"Aw, but I liked you in just a towel!" she called out to him with a laugh. "A monster?" She didnt' like the sound of that--it seemed like things around here never seemed to calm down. There first date had been marred by murder. Their second date---monsters? Good thing she had the presence of mind to grab her journal. She sat on Sokka's bed and began flipping through the pages, checking carefully for any signs of carnage.

Sokka reemerged, fully clothed, and flung his damp towel off to the side. The ghosts would pick it up later. Taking his hair tie from the desk, he put his hair in its trademark ponytail then flopped down beside Suki. "Yeah, some crazy invisible monster or something. Yachiru said it's from her world."

"Thats...weird." She snapped the journal shut and gave him a big smile. "You look cute with wet hair. And you smell nice now." She tugged playfully on his ponytail. "It's a nice change." She grinned, then took another look at the hole in the wall. It was letting in cold air. Geez. "I wish things would settle down here a little..."

"Thank you," he gave her a small grin and patted his hair smooth. At her last comment, he gave a frustrated sigh. "I seriously couldn't agree with you more," he nodded. "First we have lunar eclipses, then crazy psycho murderers, and now some freakish thing that decides to ruin my room." He rolled his eyes and leaned back a little. "To be honest, I think this makes home look really peaceful."

"My life back home was totally peacefull--boring even, until I met the Avatar. And really, still pretty boring until I got to help him travel across serpent's pass and protect Appa." She smiled a little, remembering her duties back home--but frowned when she turned her thoughts back to the castle. "Yeah. Things here are crazy. I'm really glad you're here at least.." she sighed. "Even though I guess that's the wrong thing to be saying--I should be wishing you were back home helping to save the world.."

"No, if anything, you should be at home. This place is seriously dangerous, and I don't want anything bad happening to you." He grabbed her shoulder and shook it lightly. If anything happened to her, no matter who did it, Sokka would feel responsible. He let go of her before continuing, "So, what did you want to talk to me about?"

"I guess I shouldn't go try to help everyone fight the invisible monster then." She joked--but at the look in Sokka's eyes, she smiled and leaned in to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry about me. I saved my friend from the roof today." Oh right--she had mentioned wanting to talk. She frowned severely, and tightened one hand into a fist. "Zuko." She said simply.

He gave her a small grin and lightly touched where she just kissed him. His grin faded though at the mention of one ponytailed freak he hadn't thought about since their arguement last night. "Why on earth would you want to talk about him? There is nothing to talk about besides the fact that he's the biggest jerk alive?"

She stood quickly, and began pacing the room with frustration "That's why I want to talk about him! I thought he was supposed to be on our side but..." She sighed, and let her hands drop (they had been balled into fists. "He said some pretty mean things to me last night." She fell back into sitting beside Sokka. "And some mean things about Katara." She met his eyes, and frowned. "I'm worried about Katara.."

When Suki sat back down, Sokka leaned over and put a hand on her shoulder, hoping it would calm her down. Truth was, he wasn't very calm either. "He pisses me off, too! I thought we had some sort of alliance to get home together and leave Azula behind!" He frowned. "I'll bet he's sided with her so he can tell her where we are..." The truth started to sink in. He laid his forehead on her shoulder. "Shit, shit, shit, we're gonna die...!"

Her eyes widened. "He...He wouldn't! He's supposed to like Katara!!" She began rubbing his back--she was doing that a lot recently--and shook her head. "He..he did basically tell me that her life was meaningless though. This is bad..." And to think, she had been more worried about her friend suffering from a broken heart--now she was worried about everyone's safety. "At least Aang, Toph, and Katara are all powerful benders. And well, we're warriors. Unless Iroh's on their side too maybe we'll be fine?"

He exhaled and slowly sat up. "You're right." He knew they were powerful and could take care of themselves (even though he was unsure about Katara, but if she had taught Aang, then she must be really good). "But judging by the journals and stuff, Iroh doesn't seem too happy with Zuko, either. That might mean he's still on our side." Sokka rubbed his forehead and began to think. "We need to start up an alliance against them." he paused. "This sucks."

"Yeah, it does." She sighed. "I feel like such an idiot--I was just telling Katara how she should let herself trust him, that he seemed to really like her...and now look!" She shook her head. "At least we have each other." She thought about it a minute, then smiled "And we have more friends in the castle! I met your friend Ino--she's really nice! She healed my hand" She extended her hand and wiggled her fingers as proof "And my friend WilyKat would love to torment Zuko."

He grinned at her. "Hey, that's true. You don't have to worry about me going all Fire Nation on you," he gave a small laugh. He then took her hand and turned it over in his own. Raising an eyebrow, he remarked, "Wow, Ino didn't tell me she could heal." He kissed her hand lightly before letting it go. "WilyKat was your masquerade date, right?" he nodded. "Well, who wouldn't want to torment Zuko?"

"You'd better not--you look much cuter in blue!" She grinned when he kissed her hand. "You're awfully chivalrous today. And yes, Ino can do all sorts of crazy ju--jutsus. She showed me one. She told me she showed you a different one and that you freaked out--I'm kind of sorry I missed it. And yeah, WilyKat was my masquerade date. He is one good dancer! Plus he called Zuko a girl." She giggled--she had felt a litte guilty for laughing at Zuko that night, but with the recent turn of events--no more. Suddenly she put a hand to her stomach--was her wound acting up? No, it was just hunger pains. She must have forgotten to eat in her anger. "I just realized I'm starving! Want to get something to eat? I heard the kitchen is no more...maybe we can go to the village?" She had been curious about what kind of things the villiage would have all week.

"Maybe... if we don't get killed by that invisible monster first." Sokka got up from his bed. "Wait here," he told her, and quickly made his way down the hole-ridden hallway. Peering out the entire side of the hallway that had been torn apart, he could see for miles. The first thing he spotted was Tatsuki above him, hanging from mid-air. Now frightened, he hurried back to his room and dove into the bed. "I think the monster's just outside," he informed her, voice quavering a little. "I hope you don't mind, but I have some food. It's not really fancy though..."

Her eyes widened. Oh yeah--monster. On second thought eating in sounded great. "I'm not picky--just hungry. The village can wait for another day. She leaned back onto her elbows, and blew a strand of stray hair away from her face. "You know, I'm kind of jealous of the people out there fighting...I miss it. I mean, I guess I shouldn't since I lost badly last time. But still."

"I'd fight too if I could see the thing." Sokka hauled himself up and made his way towards the mini fridge in the corner. "It's kinda hard attacking something if you don't know what it looks like, you know." His random tangent of thought told him that was exactly what Toph went through each time their group fought. Opening the fridge, he grabbed two juice boxes, several snack foods and some instant noodles for the two of them to share. He spilled them out on the bed. "Pick what you want."

She grabbed an apple juice box and pointed to the instant noodles curiously. "What are those?" She had seen the juice box before--she had tried one when foraging once, after getting the juice all over herself. Now she understood straw and but that knowledge to good use. She took a long sip. "I'm glad you aren't fighting. I would be scared if you were. And I would be really angry if anything ever happened to you--I'd probably have to beat you up."

"Aah," he squeaked, picking up the instant noodles. "Don't kill me!" he stuck his tongue out at her before peeling the lid halfway off and filling it with water. "Here," he held it out for her to take. "Just put it in that thing over there, the... the..." He pointed to the black box on top of the mini fridge. "Thethe that thing, and press the number three. It cooks it for you or something."

She regarded him skeptically. A magic box that cooked your food if you told it numbers? Still, she didn't have much to lose--she took the little cup over to the microwave and did as told. And was subsequently amazed by the results. "It even beeps at you when it's finished!" She picked up the now steaming cup and walked back to the bed. "Let's eat!"

"I'm already there," Sokka greedily grabbed some cookies and ripped open the packaging before stuffing his face messily. "So," he replied with a full mouth. "What's up? You know, besides Zuko and Azula and the crazy eclipse and the invisible monster and stuff."

She laughed, "Careful, you might choke!" Before begining to eat the instant noodles with considerably more grace. "Hm, Nothing really. I saved my friend WilyKat from the roof. Apparently he's terrified of heights! We nearly slipped a couple of times, because I was carrying. It was pretty lucky that my rooms on the 16th floor." She glanced around his room, and focusing on the hole. "Speaking of rooms--are you sure you want to sleep here tonight? My room is opened and, as far as I know, unharmed. You're more than welcome to share my bed. Y'know, to repay the favor. "She grinned.

"Right! Disaster." He grinned back. It was kind of funny that whenever they decided to get together, disaster broke. Or maybe there was some sort of hidden meaning in that. "I will gladly take you up on your offer. Just hold on," Stuffing his opened cookie packet in his pocket, he began to dump all the other food into a nearby bag. Just in case the kitchen never came back, you know. He slung the bag over his shoulder, 'Okay, I'm ready."

She laughed, and took his hand. "Do you always keep enough food with you to feed a small army?" She lead him through the door, and past the scattered holes (although not without gulping first) and up the 6 flights of stairs that seperated them. It wasn't too bad--and the stairs kept in her shape (although running up 16 flights of stairs every day did get a little old.) When they arrived, she opened the door and thankfully found her room in one piece. "Well, make yourself at home!"

Trying not to drop all your precious food into the holes below was really difficult, Sokka concluded as he was lead by Suki into her room. Upon arriving, he tossed the bag of food off to the side (instinct and bad habit, really) and flopped down face-first into her bed. He rolled onto his back and the first thing he noticed was that compared to Suki's room, his was a bit cooler. It must have something to do with the castle molding to people's desires.

She kicked off her shoes, and crawled over beside him, peering down from on high. "I hope it's not too warm in here--I've noticed your room is colder. I'm not as used to the cold as you--when I stayed the night I'm sure I stayed as close to you as as possible for body heat. Hope it wasn't too annoying." She laughed.

"The temperature's fine," he grinned at her. "And I had no problem with it at all! And I admit that night was kinda cold too." With the eclipse, and the murdering, and all that other creepy stuff, just thinking about that night made him shiver. He pulled the cookies from his pocket and stuffed some in his mouth. "Want some?" He held out the bag to Suki.
Dragons Love Tea: "Mm, I'm okay." She watched him eat for a moment, and when he had finished swallowing she allowed for a sly grin to flit across her face. "There is something else I'd like though." She leaned down, and pressed her lips to his in a kiss. Being a girlfriend does have it's perks, she thought.

Sokka was in mid-chew when she had leaned over to kiss him. and it was kind of uncomfortable. He sat up a little more and swallowed before leaning in a little more, placing his hand on her waist. Had they still been in his room, passerbyers would have yelled, "Get a room!" even though they were in one. The thought kind of amused him.

She was tempted to giggle, him being in the middle of eating and all, but managed to restrain herself. Instead, she enjoyed the deepening of the kiss, and even adjusted position to allow it to be more comfortable. Of course, this meant essentially ending up in Sokka's lap--a position that, had she not been mid-kiss, she would certainly have been embarassed by. Now however, she was occupied by something much more fun.

The sudden shift in position surprised him slightly, but he got over it, and tilted his head, deepened the kiss even more. He chuckled to himself before parting his lips slightly and flicking his tongue out against Suki's own lips. This was the kind of fun he needed in the midst of all this stress, and the kind of fun he was sure Zuko would never experience, what with being an uptight bastard and all. Haha.

It had been a long time since she had kissed someone like this. Come to think of it, she didn't think she had ever kissed someone like this, and she had definitely not enjoyed herself as much. She sighed slightly, pleasantly, and moved her own tongue against his, and pressed her hands lightly to his chest. You couldn't be a warrior 24/7 could you? Sometimes just being a girl was really, really fun.

He wrapped his other arm around her waist and pulled her a little closer, relieved when the hands on his chest didn't push him away. He ran his tongue against hers, thinking the last time he had been close to kissing anyone this passionately was when he said goodbye to Suki on the Serpent's Pass... heaven knew how long ago that was. Sighing, he slowly pulled back and looked into her eyes, before suddenly yawning, "Man, you make me tired..." and he rested his head on her shoulder.

With some reluctance, she let the kiss break. Time to come back to the real world. She giggled slightly, and found herself yawning in agreement. "Yeah, it's late--we should go to bed." She realized suddenly that she was basically sitting in his lap, and with a blush, slid off. "I need to change--I'll be right back." She came back moments later in her pajamas, and climbed into bed. "I'm glad you're staying the night. I'll try not to violate you." She grinned.

Laughing, Sokka did his nightly routine of removing his boots and shirt and made himself comfortable in the sheets. "Yeah, not if I violate you first!" he shut his eyes and rolled over onto his side, facing her. "'Night," he mumbled. If he could, he would've stayed up a little longer, but this freaky monster stuff and the hole in his room had tired him out.
