Thread: Don't want to [Ravi and Kanda]

Who: Ravi ([livejournal.com profile] bookmansjunior) and Kanda ([livejournal.com profile] to_dark)
What: Meeting up after Kanda invites himself over.
When: After this.
Where: Ravi's room 211
Rating: PG-ish?

It had started with wanting to get chocolate, yes. Not for himself but for Axel. He found himself strangely pleased at the other's reaction to his offer to get him that from the kitchen. Pleased enough to want to see...

Yeah.

Kanda's trip downstairs was taking shorter than usual. Maybe it was because he lead himself straight into this one and asked- or rather demanded?- to see the redhead. Admittedly he missed the redhead a bit. After all though they had spoken through journals he hadn't seen the other in quite a while and... maybe Kanda was a bit more bothered with Allen's words than he'd like to admitt. Axel was right. Again.

Right now he didn't want to think about it as he came to a stop infront of room 211.

Sigh.

Lifting his hand he knocked once before reaching down to push the door open, he'd said it was unlocked right? Plus Kanda had not come here to kill anyone. Yet anyway.

Ravi was already on his feet when he heard the knock, followed by the sound of the door opening - it had to be Kanda, since he'd told him that the door wasn't locked. And, sure enough, it was none other. Stepping out in front of the door, Ravi grinned at Kanda when he came into view. "Nice of you to drop by for a visit, Yuu," he said in greeting, placing one of his hands on the side of the door to pull it open further before he moved out of the way in case Kanda was planning to come in.

He gave the other boy a curious look, watching him expectantly. The visit seemed pretty spontaneous and Ravi wondered what could have brought it on. He didn't think Kanda tended to drop by people's rooms out of the blue just for the hell of it.

"Well, you can come visit anytime," Ravi replied as he pushed the door shut and turned around, leaning against it for a moment with his arms folded across his chest. He gave Kanda a smile. Somehow he doubted that Kanda was actually going to make visits a frequent thing, though. (Of course, that didn't mean Ravi couldn't go ahead with doing the visiting himself.)

Still, here Kanda was, standing here of his own free will. And he was right - they hadn't seen each other in a while. It looked like the guy was all healed up now, though (maybe Ino or Sakura had taken care of things), so maybe he'd left Axel's room to go back to his own at some point, probably before the whole man-eating plant thing. Then again, it sounded like he was still hanging out there to play nurse for Axel this time round.

Ravi grinned and pointed at something on the wall on the far side of the room. The cards he'd gotten on Valentine's Day were pinned to that wall. "That look familiar, Yuu?"

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ravi hadn't really counted on Kanda dropping by to actually see the wall anytime soon, but that reaction didn't come as a real surprise or anything like that. That card of Kanda's had been funny, though, both the fact that he'd somehow been persuaded to go to the trouble of sending one at all (although it wasn't exactly your average kind of greeting card) as well as the card's 'friendly' content.

"People sent 'em to me," Ravi said cheerfully, an explanation of sorts. "I gotta keep 'em in a safe place somewhere, yeah?" He straightened up and left his spot by the door, making his way over to his bed to take a seat. "You wanna sit down, Yuu?" He waved at the bed with one hand and a nearby chair with the other. Kanda could take his pick, if he wanted.

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah? Thought so." Ravi chuckled. He shrugged his shoulders and leaned back against the foot of the bed, drawing one leg up to rest one of his arms on top of his knee. There was plenty of space left on the bed, so Kanda could have sat there with room still to spare, but if he wanted to sit on the chair instead, that was up to him.

Ravi gave Kanda a grin. "What'd you do with all the stuff you got, Yuu?" he asked curiously, wondering whether Kanda had secretly kept it, in spite of complaining about getting cards and all that on the day, or if he'd thrown everything out or who knows what.

Speaking of Valentine's Day stuff, though, including Atoli's bear and the cards on the wall, Ravi still had a good amount of it sitting around himself - unless you were Red or could eat like Allen could, eating that much chocolate all at once was pretty challenging and probably close to impossible.

Ravi snickered. That wasn't exactly surprising, either. Well, at least all the chocolate Kanda must have gotten from a couple of people didn't have to suffer a sad fate of just sitting around, neglected and unwanted, thanks to Lae's chocolate addiction. "So you still got all the cards?" he asked and smiled at Kanda.

"My date?" Ravi put his hands behind his head, his smile widening at the question. "Well, guess I'm lucky Miwako still wanted to go with me." He wasn't too sure how that funny mix-up had happened in the first place, but it had all worked out fine in the end anyway. "Too bad you and Red missed out on the whole thing."

"Nothing wrong with some decoration in here, Yuu," Ravi said. Besides, hardly anyone actually came here. Kanda had been here twice, Yachiru and Misa had visited the room once, and Ravi had thought letting Tatsuki come here for a while instead of going all the way up to the fifteenth floor that other night seemed like a good idea, but other than that, Ravi was still its only occupant and he didn't spend the whole day in his room all the time, either.

He shrugged again and grinned at Kanda. "Guess not, if cute girls're always gonna do the asking themselves," he replied jokingly. "But you wound up with a date yourself, right, Yuu?" If that counted. Ravi wondered what would have happened if Kanda had actually been in any shape to go. Maybe Axel might have stood a chance at 'convincing' him.

Ravi smiled. "Not your thing, though, huh."

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ravi raised his eyebrows at Kanda's reaction, but his grin stayed in place, turning mischievous before he spoke up again. "Hey, I'm decent date material, Yuu," he protested. "Besides, Miwako beat me to it or I would've asked myself when I found out she was still looking for one." But societal conventions weren't that big a deal, in Ravi's opinion. They probably didn't matter in a place like this anyway. He didn't think that or a lack of manners or proper etiquette or anything like that was what Kanda was really getting at, either.

"What about Red?" he pointed out. "Sounded like he was planning to go with you, yeah?" Maybe, if Kanda hadn't been injured, there was a chance that it wouldn't have turned out as bad an experience for him as that Christmas incident, right? Even if Axel had claimed that Kanda just saw him as the lesser of two evils, it did seem like Kanda actually trusted the guy and that spoke volumes.

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ignoring the sarcasm, Ravi nodded at Kanda's remark. "I bet that's a pretty long line," he said, keeping a straight face.

His gaze followed Kanda's movements and he automatically leaned back out of the way when he realized that Kanda seemed to have something in store for his scarf - it probably didn't take a lot of guesswork to figure out what that could be.

Grasping one end of it himself, Ravi was about to take the scarf off, but he paused when Kanda spoke up again. A crush? Not that Miwako wasn't cute or he didn't like being around her, but Ravi wondered what had prompted a question like that from Kanda, when he didn't really act any differently from the way he normally acted towards her or most people.

Ravi grinned, opting for teasing Kanda a little. "You got nothing to worry about, Yuu," he said, sitting back up to lean forward and give Kanda's shoulder a pat. "Miwako's not making me any lunches and she wanted to go somewhere with you first, remember? I bet she would've asked you if you talked to her before me."

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Misa already took care of 'em," Ravi pointed out. "She dropped by with a bottle of some kinda anti-flea stuff, Yuu." He pulled his hand away and stood from his seat, heading over to the bedside table to pick up the small bottle Misa had brought with her that time and holding it up in the air for Kanda to see. Of course, he hadn't actually used any of it.

"So you would've turned down a date? That kinda thing doesn't happen all the time."

Ravi put the bottle of 'anti-flea stuff' back where it had been sitting before and finished what he'd been meaning to do before. He loosened his scarf and tugged it off, then tossed it at Kanda, giving him a smile in spite of all the glaring and scowling and everything that had been coming from that direction. "Catch, Yuu!"

[identity profile] bookmansjunior.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Catching the scarf should have happened before it hit Kanda in the face - maybe the warning could have come a little sooner. Ravi laughed, sitting back down on the edge of the bed. "Well, I meant Miwako or some other girl. I bet one of 'em would've wanted to go with you," he replied. It wasn't like Kanda didn't know any girls, and they seemed to like him well enough to want to be around him.

"Anyway, Red must've thought it was for a good cause, Yuu. I was this close to trying my luck there myself." Ravi held up his hand to illustrate his point, placing his thumb and index finger together so that there was only a tiny distance between them.

Even if he had a feeling that he probably would have had even less success than Axel had with trying to convince Kanda to come to a social event like that.
