Who: Katara and Sokka
What: Taking care of Sokka during his not so fun hangover.
When: The morning after he drank some cactus juice!
Where: Sokka's room.
Rating: PG. It was left unfinished, but that's okay! We needed some sibling love!

Katara couldn't help but feel worried about Sokka after he hit up that cactus juice again. She wasn't sure if it was cactus juice to begin with... Why would the castle even HAVE that?! Whatever it was didn't matter, though. She just wanted to make sure her brother was okay. And make sure he wouldn't drink anything like it ever again.

So the next morning, Katara was infront of his door balancing a tray of asprin, hot tea and breakfast: consisting of eggs and bacon as she knocked. "Sokka? Hey, it's Katara! I have some breakfast for you," she called out, hoping he was awake.

Groaning, Sokka rolled over in his bed and buried his face in his pillow. He had woken up a little while ago, but his head was pounding and he couldn't stand the sunlight that was shining through his curtainless windows. Seriously, this was a lot worse than what had happened last time, and he could only imagine how much of a 'hangover' Yachiru probably had, the poor girl. Through the loud thumps in his head, he reminded himself to always check the labels of EVERYTHING before he tried to consume it.

Hearing the knock, he forced himself to sit up slowly while clutching his temples. Who was at the door again? Not finding the strength to get up and answer, he called "Come in!" Ow, even his own voice hurt his head. What terrible karma.

With the okay to let herself in, Katara did just that, closing the door shut with her foot. He looked.. slightly better? But she could already tell he was still suffering from a hangover. She walked over to his bed and set the tray down on the table beside him. "Hey, Sokka. How are you feeling?" She decided to ask, although she had an idea of what his answer would be. Turning away for a moment, she picked up the tea and passed it to him.

"I brought some breakfast for you. You should feel a lot better after you eat something," she mentioned with a reassuring smile. Even if he didn't remember her, she still wanted to take care of him. It usually came down to that. Because to her, he was still her brother.

"Terrible," Sokka replied, He placed his hand over his eyes. The light was killing him. Though his plan to keep shut eyes until his headache was gone was shot down when Katara mentioned food. He was kinda hungry... No, not kinda hungry, VERY hungry. He removed his hand and slowly forced his eyes open, letting everything focus and register. Nodding, he took the tea and took a sip. Not quite as exquisite as Iroh's, but good nonetheless.

Sokka looked down at the food on the table. "Uhhh," he began slowly, examining it. Maybe he was drowsy, but he didn't recognize it. "What is it?"

"I figured. I think your headache is punishment enough, right?" Katara laughed a little as took the other cup she made for herself, and climbed onto his bed. Carefully, she sat down on the other side and took a few sips. Drinking tea was always heavenly! She blinked when he had questioned what was on the tray, looking over to it as well.

"Ummm. I told the ghosts what you like but.. They made bacon and eggs, I think it's called," she finally said, bringing the cup back to her sips to drink some more. "Try it. It's pretty rare when you don't like food, Sokka." It was true after all. Katara was pretty sure the ghosts wouldn't give her something he wouldn't like. She did specify his like for meat, but you never know.

Sokka wiggled over as Katara sat down. "Egg?" He poked the yellow and white substance, before grabbing a pair of nearby chopsticks and taking a bite. It was pretty good, he couldn't deny it, better than any egg he'd try to make at home. "Not bad," he murmured in approval before picking up a slab of bacon and taking a bite. Mmm, meat! Licking his lips, he downed the rest of that piece in his hands. "Mmmyeah, this castle really knows what it's doing, when it's not being dumb."

Several small, round, shiny things on the tray caught his eye. He nodded towards them, then asked, "Hey, what're those?" Ouch, stop nodding.

Katara continued to enjoy her tea, taking a few more sips as she eventually finished it off. She was glad that Sokka at least liked the breakfast, even though it'd take a while for his headache to go away. She grinned when he finally spoke up, and she got up to put her cup back on the tray.

"Yeah, maybe next time it'll stop you from drinking cactus juice," she couldn't help it. What kind of sister would she be if she didn't continue to make fun of him? She still cared, nonetheless. Glancing down at the asprin, she picked one of them up and passed it to him.

"Oh, right! Those are pain relievers. Just swallow it, no biting or anything. It's suppose to get rid of your headache," she explained, jumping back onto the bed.

"Hey, it was an accident, okay?" he protested with a mumble. The poor boy couldn't tell she was teasing him, all his brotherly instinct was pretty much nonexistant now. Sokka grabbed another piece of bacon and it took him two bites to get it all in his mouth. When he was done chewing, he picked up one of the pills.

"You want me to swallow this?" The pill wasn't very big, but the thought of putting something hard as a rock in his mouth without chewing wasn't a pleasant thought. His face scrunched as he studied it, before he finally put it in his mouth with a loud gulp. He felt the pill in his neck like a stick. "Bleeghhh...."

"... Sorry, Sokka," she said softly when she realized he wasn't taking it the way he usually did. It made Katara sigh inwardly. What were you suppose to think when the brother you've known your entire life suddenly forgot you? She nodded to his question, though. The asprin was pretty weird, she didn't blame him for being skeptical about it. Her eyes widened a little when he swallowed it, something else the ghost had told her coming to mind.

"Oh, take a few sips of the tea! It'll make it go down faster," she said quickly. It looked really.. uncomfortable.

"It's suppose to help," she smiled reassuringly, pulling her knees up, close to her body. "Anyway.. You have to tell me how your first match went," Katara decided to mention. She was curious about how it went. She missed it, she wanted some details.

Sokka grabbed the tea and took a few gulps, ignoring how hot it was. After he felt it go down, he exhaled in relief. "Oh ow, my tongue!" Note to self: don't chug hot tea.

"My fight? Haha, well," he set down his teacup and sat a little straighter, expecting the magical rock thing to kick in so his headache would go away. "The guy I fought against was some weird guy with purple hair named like Zexion, or something. He didn't do much, but," he paused and wrinkled his face up. "But he copied my machete! It was really weird. And oh yeah, I meant to knock him down backwards, but he fell on top of me!" He frowned. "Yeah, he got a good punch for that." Grinning, he continued, "Yeah, I won though. But you probably already heard, right?"

"Are you okay?" she tilted her head at him. Poor Sokka. Maybe he was suffering a little too much here! Katara listened when he began his storytelling though, expecting there would be something to laugh about in it. He had a funny way of sharing stories, although the events probably weren't much fun for him "He.. fell on you? Well, I'm glad you got him back for it!" she grinned. She would definitely cheer for him at the next match.

"Yeah, you told me on the journal," she reminded him with a small laugh. Katara just wanted to hear about it from him, though. It meant more to her than he probably realized.

"Do you know when the next one will be? I bet Aang will enjoy watching, too!"

"The next one?" He sat in though for a moment. Yachiru really didn't inform them ahead of time, but it's kinda to be expected from a small child. "Uh, I honestly have no idea." He shrugged. "Sorry though, but I'll tell you when I find out!" Sokka could only imagine how bad Katara probably felt for missing his first, glorious victory.

She was supposed to be his sister after all, right? He didn't feel the family connection between them, but if she was in the tournament, he would've felt bad if he missed her fight too... if she could fight. He raised his eyebrow at her. "Hey, can you bend?"
