[Thread] Kuja and Byakuya

Who: Kuja and Byakuya
What: Losing control~
When: After this~
Warnings: Maybe PG-13 for Kuja's lack of control and gay-ness~ :D
Where: Kuja's room, 311

Kuja closed his journal gingerly, tightening a lithe, feminine hand around the writing pen, feeling the smooth material snapping resolutely beneath his fingers. Of course, he didn't look particularily strong, but his appearance belied the sheer power that boiled beneath his surface.

Certainly, he had changed quite a bit since he had destroyed Terra and attempted to end all existance, but that was why he felt he needed help. The trance...he didn't believe he could control himself during the period of extreme emotion...he could feel it. His brother had learned to control it, and himself during the experience, but he knew rather resolutely that he could not.

Perhaps it was because Zidane had been a more advanced weapon...or simply because of his particular soul, but for whatever the reason, he could not control himself...

He swallowed slowly. 'Please, get here soon', he thought inwardly, hands tightening, tail curling. He didn't know how much longer he could last. It was encompasing him, driving him mad.

It took only a few Shunpo to get to Kuja's room, though he first had to ensure his effects. Byakuya was not willing to chance that Kuja was already beyond his own control, and released the lock on the scabbard of Senbonzakura. Knocking on the door, he stood silently, awaiting a reply.

Striding into the room, Byakuya immediately placed a Kyoumon on the window and the door, with but a simple nod to the comment of thanks.

Turning to face Kuja, Byakuya stated, calmly but authoritatively, "I would ask that you explain to me the extent of what may happen in this trance."

With any luck, simple Bakudou would work; he did not wish to call up his reiatsu and press that weight on the majority of the castle.

"There are many who would wish that sentiment upon this place. Yet, as you wish, I will make my attempt.

"You will be more comfortable if you lie down on your side, on your bed."

Releasing the Kyoumon on the window and opening it, he turned back to Kuja. "When you are ready, I will bind you using my Kidou, then I will start to try and siphon off this power of yours."

Standing over Kuja, he reached out his arm, with two fingers extended, and stated clearly, "Bakudou no Ichi, Sai!"

The usual result of arms being drawn behind the back, and legs and knees bent at ninety degrees, the effect in place, Byakuya drew up the chair from the room's desk, and sat down. Placing a hand on Kuja's arm and keeping a firm grip, he started to focus, and blur the distinction between Kuja's and his power.

It was surprising that there was this much power in the lithe little man, and almost disconcerting. Byakuya was tempted to consider awakening him as a Shinigami, though to do so would be against the rules of Soul Society, the rules he had sworn to uphold, so as to prevent a Hollowization of Kuja.

Brushing aside the thought, he focused their shared power, and called out the incantation of a Kidou.

"Bone of a straggling beast, spire, crimson crystal, disc of steel, when the wind shifts, and the emptiness ceases, let the clash of lances resonate through the relinquished castle... Hadou no Rokujuusan, Raikouhou!"

Byakuya remembered the bolt of lightning Shiba Kuukaku had called down on Aizen when she showed up. Where it had simply crackled into existance, the thunder from this bolt blew wind into the room, and it was a wonder that there was no shattering of glass.

He felt the further rise of energy, and knew that if there were to be a backlash, the Kyoumon Byakuya had set would not be sufficient to contain it. Pouring as much of their combined power into each one as he could, he set a Kyoumon on the three walls without the window, on the floor, on the ceiling.

It was difficult, but he was starting to get a foothold on the monumentous power. Calling down Raikouhou again, and enlarging its crater, then further pouring off power with a pointed finger and the command of, "Hadou no Yon, Byakurai!", Byakuya centered his focus, and began trying to directly quash, contain, and otherwise repress the immense power the two of them shared.

The pull of power back to Kuja was a bit of a surprise, but Byakuya was not sure whether to take such as an omen of weal or woe. Regardless, he did know that with too much power, Kuja would lose form, and his soul would rend. Closing his eyes and pointing a finger towards the window, he again repeated, "Hadou no Yon, Byakurai."

This time, however, he did not stop once the spell had completed. Forcing it to continue, he forged as close as he could a direct link between the blast of lightning and his and Kuja's shared energy, guiding, then forcing it out into the sky in brilliant light.

[OOC: New comment because those tiny text areas? Kinda... annoying.

Kuchiki Byakuya understood quite well. The Kuchiki family were the historians of Soul Society, and Byakuya, as its head, was well aware that endeavors involving science and souls were tumultous, to say the least.

Nodding sagely, he stated calmly, "Should you not wish to continue, I understand that such work leads to many problems."

[identity profile] kageyoushi.livejournal.com 2007-03-01 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Brushing his hair slightly out of his face, Byakuya caught how the word caught in Kuja. He felt almost fortunate that he had lived centuries, and had the wisdom and experience from therein.

"Failure is not an absolute. You may very well find that if you look beyond the standards of whatever created you, and you can succeed in your own right. Many here consider this place a burden, a bane, because of their losses. Consider that you have, by being brought here, lost the ties that necessarily bind you to said creator."

Again waiting a moment to sip his drink and let his words sink in, Byakuya then continued, "I would show you something. You perhaps felt last night some of my power."

Drawing his Zanpakutou and aiming it towards the wall, he said, "The size of a Shinigami's Zanpakutou is based on their strength and amount of reiatsu. As such, I have learned to reign in my power. Would you care to see what happens when I neglect such? I can ensure you will not come to harm."

[identity profile] kageyoushi.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
His soul whispered to Senbonzakura, of the agreement to let control over the Zanpakutou's size lapse, and as Byakuya's eyes opened, the blade immediately magnified. With his reiatsu in it, it made quick work of the wall, and extended through it.

Calling his reiatsu back in check, the blade shrunk back down, and Byakuya sheathed it. The hole could easily be seen through, and it had punched clear through the hallway and into the room beyond.

"Thus why power is great, and the need for control is greater. Even when it is that size and that powerful, I can wield my Zanpakutou without difficulty, because of how I control my power. The difficulty is not in obtaining power, but in controlling it. I believe you well understand this."

[identity profile] kageyoushi.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
"It would seem, then, that you have some understanding thereof. I would ask what its source is, that power of yours, and if you know of some way to control or channel it."

There had to be an answer. In spite of the fact that the traitor Aizen was trying to disprove such, there was some truth in a statement he had made just prior - that everything had a limit. With a limit known, Byakuya knew he could find an answer.

[identity profile] kageyoushi.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Pressing, Byakuya asked, "Achieved which once, the trance, or control? The important ability is to be able to keep a clear head, it seems, or clear enough, for, as tonight has shown, such power can be siphoned off or used in parts, should you have an ability to do so."

[identity profile] kageyoushi.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
He would not be phased. The news of destroying a world was astounding, and were it the case, had Kuja's world a corresponding Soul Society, the balance would be so upturned that Byakuya doubted it still existed.

Clearing his head with a sip of his drink, his brow furrowed as he mused aloud, "Then the issue is not in finding clarity, but in finding either a receptacle, or a way to contain the power such that it can be released safely."
