Who: Luke and Guy
What: Masquerade mask treasure hunt!
When: After this
Where: About the castle
Rating: PG I guess
Guy walked down a few flight of stares at a steady pace. He had still not grown used to the castle but figured that it had to have been similar to the manor in Batical and even his own in Hod. Nothing really too surprising. Still there seemed to be a different aura about the place that the swordsman couldn't quite put his finger on. It was different than anywhere he had been before. Really, Guy wasn't too sure what to think of it but decided to cast the thought aside for now. There was a bigger task at hand.
When he had reached Luke's door, he stood before it and looked at the number plate for a little. There really wasn't any reason to be hesitant. It's not like Luke was a different person. Guy chuckled inwardly and gave the oak door a knock. "Room service", he called with a smile curling on his lips.

It wasn't his fault that he couldn't find anything to do. Asch was probably busy researching, but Luke simply didn't have that kind of patience. He'd already spent days trying to figure out a way out of this place, all in vain, and Luke wasn't going to take it any longer. They were stuck, period, and the least they could do was let him be miserable about it in peace, damn it.
Whatever. Guy was here now, so he had a reason to be in a better mood. It was good, being able to get excited about something again, the anticipation of finally seeing someone he missed.
Luke had forgotten how long it'd been since he'd seen Guy. A month? Two? Not since the incident at the Absorption Gate, certainly, and that'd been ages ago. Luke couldn't tell for sure, not when time seemed to stand still in this place; strange, considering Luke had always been one to be particularly conscious of time, though this was mostly because he possessed the attention span of a child.
Well, what could you expect from someone who was, after all, just a child?
Regardless, Guy's absence had been so foreign to Luke, who'd spent the entirety of his seven years in the other's company. Maybe he'd even taken the other for granted. And now, after so lenghthy a separation, how was Luke supposed to greet the other, when so much had happened?
Figures. He was thinking too much again. Fortunately, Luke was interrupted by a voice that he coud recognize anywhere. Suddenly incapable of suppressing a grin from finding its way onto his features, Luke jumped up to throw open the door, worries promptly forgotten.

Seeing his childhood friend there made him feel a little nostalgic. Though again, standing there and thinking of home wasn't going to get anything done.
He was happy; at least now he didn't have to worry about Luke and his whereabouts constantly. It put him at ease in a sense now that he didn't have to look any longer. Luke was alive and well and that was all that mattered. To him anyway.
Guy leaned his body against the door frame and crossed his arms in a nonchalant manner. "So what's up? Ready to go?"

No. It wasn't right for him to think that way, because Guy was still Guy, regardless of whether this time paradox made any sense at all. He'd just have to fill him in on everything, was all. Simple as catching up, getting back up to speed. Besides, Luke wasn't keen on getting a headache trying to figure it all out.
He nodded. "I'm ready."

There was still the ball thing to think about now, anyway. Guy figured Luke was just as clueless as he was but decided to ask a silly question anyway to keep a conversation going. "So what do you think of this masquerade thing?"

Then he was struck with a sudden realization. "So... what is it that you're supposed to do at masquerades, anyway?" The question was tentative. Fearful, even. Probably because it was a question he'd already figured the answer to, for Luke, in all his ignorance, did possess some degree of common sense.

Leave it to Guy to be this easy-going all the time. What was with the masks, anyway? Weird.
"Well, we're not getting much done just standing here. Let's get going."
