[Log] Yachiru and Son Goku off to the Kitchen

Who: Son Goku and Yachiru Kusajishi
What: Going to get candy/ice cream/snacks.
When: Now...ish?
Where: Starting off at Yachiru's room (1318) then heading to the Kitchen
Rating: PG?

Yachiru skipped around her room as she awaited Goku's arrival. 'Hee hee! I can't wait to meet a new friend!' She thought to herself. Her meetings with Raby and Lexa were not bad experiences, however she was still greatly mad at Yuu for not wanting to play with her. She hoped her meeting with Goku would go well.
Goku and her seemed to share a common interest, besides their childish personalities the two of them seemed to really like food. Or at least candy. So the first thing they'd do if Yachiru could help it would be to go and get some ice cream! Maybe even some candy. The kitchen in <s>Paradisa</s> Yuu Yuu Panda Land seemed to have an endless supply of goodies and treats. What was even better was the fact that there were no Shinigami around to tell her 'No'.
Yachiru slowly grew impatient. She decided to sit on her bed and poke things with her sword as she awaited Goku's arrival.

Goku eyed the doors of the current hallway, hoping that this time he'd counted right. It wasn't his fault the staircases didn't tell you which floor you were on. At least... maybe he'd just missed it. Huh. To his relief, the first door he saw distinctly had the number 13 in the beginning. "1302... 1305... 1309...," he counted out loud to the empty hallway, "And... 1318! Finally."

He lightly rapped his knuckles against the hardwood door, listening closely for signs of life, and as he'd expect, there was a small rustling sound behind the door. Goku took a step back, smiling cheekily at his accomplishment. He'd have to relay this accomplishment to... uh, Hakkai? No, Hakkai never made fun of him for that. Maybe it was Gojyo, but Gojyo made fun of him for other things. Huh. Whatever. The brunet shrugged and knocked on the door once more, "Um... Yachiru? Is that you?"

Goku had been expecting someone... older? Or maybe larger. Definitely not a tiny, 4 foot tall, pink haired little girl. Not that he was complaining, of course. It was much better than being greeted by a youkai or a youkai hater, as he normally was. This was much more preferable.

His amber eyes followed the girl in her bubbly bouncing and he couldn't fight the amused grin that followed, "Yup. And you must be Yachiru." Not that that was already a fact seeing as the door had her name on it. But he continued, "Tall though? I don't really think so... I'm sorta short for my ag-ah!"

He suddenly felt himself be jerked down as Yachiru latched onto his arm mid-hop and dragged his arm with her on her decent, which ended with him leaning down quite awkwardly. Then she began to drag him along with her down the hall. Well, this was an odd situation. Still, Goku couldn't help but laugh out at her antics. "Are you kidding? I'm so hungry I could eat... I could eat you, you little devil!"

"Alright, alright, Shinigami it is!" Goku smiled, his golden eyes shining with mirth at both the crazy little girl and the prospect of food. Sure his arm was being forcefully yanked from its socket, but at least he was getting somewhere. Somewhere with food. Hm...

Goku was shaken from his daydreaming when she threw a few more questions at him. "Ah, I'm 18 years old, Yachiru. And as for favorite candy... I can't decide! They're all good in their own way. But you know, I don't really like bitter candies, kinda like...," Goku broke off there, noticing that the little Shinigami had already gotten off topic again. But that didn't really matter to him because, at that moment, Yachiru had dragged him into the largest kitchen he'd ever seen. Larger than any kitchen he'd ever dreamed up. And it was so clean and orderly and... and so full of food!

Dumbly, Goku reached down and put a hand on the girl's shoulder, "Wow... there's so much to eat. And... and it's all free, right? We don't have to pay for it?"

[identity profile] clouded-nine.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
"All... free," Goku mumbled, a dazed expression gracing his features. It was all for the taking. No money, no debts, no credit cards... good thing too, because back then all they could pay with was that golden credit card, and the only one allowed to touch that was... uh, Hakkai? No, that wasn't right. Maybe... maybe there was never a credit card. How odd.

Of course, when Yachiru yanked his arm again and dragged him to the food, Goku was quick to forget about that as all his senses were overwhelmed with the scents and look of the dishes laid out. It was like he'd died and gone to heaven, only better. You probably had to pay in heaven.

He snatched up a few meat buns from the table on his right, an onigiri or two on his left, and a few lollipops he'd found scattered along the counter, all of which he was making sure to balance in the crook of his elbows.

As he stuffed the first meat bun into his mouth, he finally registered that Yachiru was once again speaking to him. Goku attempted to answer, but then remembered that the girl probably couldn't understand him with cheeks half full of meaty goodness. He flailed a little, attempting to ask her to wait while he finished the delectable, utterly magnificent thing that was known as food. Man, he hadn't had a decent meal like this in ages.

"Cshibmung?" Goku attempted to ask, forgetting about his still occupied cheeks. He took a moment to swallow the food before asking again, "Chipmunk? Really? Not a monkey?" His eyes flitted from Yachiru's face to the new food she'd placed on his plate. Lacking the urge to resist, Goku grabbed another treat, once again stuffing his cheeks full. He smiled, "Bu ah gheb fhu nhabe Yrachiwu fhu?"

With a large gulp, Goku finished off the platter that he'd set before him, then he turned to Yachiru and found her large, curious eyes staring into his own. "Why? Well, it's because... uh, because...," he paused. Why was he called monkey? Now that he thought about it, he didn't eat only bananas, and he didn't climb trees, nor did he really look like one most of the time. Huh. Sure Seiten Taisei was monkey-ish, but he wasn't. "Actually, Yachiru... I have no idea! But chipmunks are small and ratty. I don't look like that, do I?"

Goku shrugged nonchalently and munched on a piece of bread, "I was asking if I could give you a nickname too. Fair is fair, right?"

Goku was taken aback by the ferocity in the girl's voice and he almost choked on the sandwich he had been chugging. After dislodging the piece of bread from his throat, he put his hands up in defeat and laughed nervously as Yachiru continued to glare at him. "Ah, I didn't mean to do anything wrong! Yachiru it is then." He paused, then continued, "Does your name mean something?"

His sandwich forgotten, Goku looked down at Yachiru and winced in sympathy. He'd never have guessed she'd have such a horrible past, of all people. And hiding it behind smiles and cuteness... poor thing. Not that he couldn't understand her situation, of course. Sometimes it was better to keep things inside rather than out.

Though, he figured, the Soul Reaper probably didn't want to be weighed down with thoughts and memories like that. "I'm... I'm so sorry for ya. It must've been tough on you. Even worse that you can't remember the person, huh?" Goku shook his head and wiping off the concerned frown. "I bet you'll remember sometime, Yachiru! I don't know if I can help, but if you need any help, I'm here!"

Pleased with his promise, Goku continued to answer her question. Maybe he'd even distract her from their previous conversation. "My name? Um... I dunno. I guess I forgot after all those years. I forgot a lot of stuff from when I was little, but it was apparently really important. At least, that's what everyone's told me." He flashed another brilliant smile at her before picking the sandwich up off his plate. How many was that now? Seven? Psh, nothing but an appetizer!

[identity profile] clouded-nine.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well... that's a funny story, actually." Goku rubbed the back of his head, slightly embarassed, "I'm really about 500 years old, but I only look 18! See, there was this mountain, and I was a prisoner in this cage made into the mountain, and I stayed there for years and years until... uh... someone freed me. But I... can't...," He trailed off into a long-winded whine. Why couldn't he remember, dammit?

He took another bite from his sandwich to calm himself. "Nevermind. It's a weird story. I can't even remember the whole thing." Goku sighed and picked up what looked like a platter of spring rolls. Or something like them. "My friends? I've only met one of them here so far, and he's acting all weird. Keeps calling himself "Gonou", which isn't his name. He's pretty set on it though." He took a bite from the roll. Hm, not bad.

[identity profile] clouded-nine.livejournal.com 2007-02-12 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Stop it, you're making me feel old!" Goku laughed and munched on the roll, thoroughly enjoying Yachiru's reaction. He wasn't that old, seeing as he wasn't really counting by regular human standards. Or youkai for that matter. He was 18 looks-wise, and he was sticking to that. "And besides, I told you already, I can't tell you! It's a secret! I... I don't really like to talk about it either."

Goku finished the last of the rolls and reached out to grab a lollipop. He popped the brightly coloured candy into his mouth and gnawed on it in thought. "Hm... well, I think so. It's kind of weird, you know. It's like... there's someone there, and I can remember talking to this person, but I can't picture them or anything about them." He bit down again, this time snapping the lollipop in two. He pulled the broken piece out and placed it on his plate before sticking the piece still on the stick back in his mouth. "And Hakkai wasn't any help either. He won't answer any of my questions." Goku paused and laughed, "Well, there you go. See, his real name's Hakkai, Cho Hakkai, but now he keeps calling himself Gonou because... well I dunno. Just because." He flopped down so his torso fell atop the counter, inches away from the plate. "Besides, Hakuryu isn't with him, which is making me wonder if everything's alright with him."

[identity profile] clouded-nine.livejournal.com 2007-02-12 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Well... not really." Goku sighed and sucked on the lollipop in a disgruntled fashion. "I can't really remember talking to him. I mean... think of it like talking to a doll, but it not talking back. That's what my memories are like. But I know I talked to them!" He lazily thumped his fist against the counter and stretched it out to grab the onigiri. "If anything, Yachiru, you should consider yourself luckier. At least you know facts about the guy, even if you don't remember him. I can't even remember what gender the person is!"

This wasn't making him feel too good. At least he had Yachiru to spill all his complaints on. Her up-beat nature was really cute, plus it relieved stress. Well, for him anyway. Maybe not for more serious people, but he didn't care about them. "Hakuryu? He's Hakkai's dragon-Jeep-thing! We used him to go West, but half the time he just stayed in his dragon form." He was about to go on when Yachiru burst out. Taken aback, Goku paused for a moment then leaned forward on his chair and faced her. "No way! You think so?" He was really serious for a moment before he fell back to the counter and moaned. "No that can't be it! He remembered my name. It probably has something to do with the person I can't remember or something. I know they were important, whoever they were.
