Yachiru skipped around her room as she awaited Goku's arrival. 'Hee hee! I can't wait to meet a new friend!' She thought to herself. Her meetings with Raby and Lexa were not bad experiences, however she was still greatly mad at Yuu for not wanting to play with her. She hoped her meeting with Goku would go well.
Goku and her seemed to share a common interest, besides their childish personalities the two of them seemed to really like food. Or at least candy. So the first thing they'd do if Yachiru could help it would be to go and get some ice cream! Maybe even some candy. The kitchen in <s>Paradisa</s> Yuu Yuu Panda Land seemed to have an endless supply of goodies and treats. What was even better was the fact that there were no Shinigami around to tell her 'No'.
Yachiru slowly grew impatient. She decided to sit on her bed and poke things with her sword as she awaited Goku's arrival.

He lightly rapped his knuckles against the hardwood door, listening closely for signs of life, and as he'd expect, there was a small rustling sound behind the door. Goku took a step back, smiling cheekily at his accomplishment. He'd have to relay this accomplishment to... uh, Hakkai? No, Hakkai never made fun of him for that. Maybe it was Gojyo, but Gojyo made fun of him for other things. Huh. Whatever. The brunet shrugged and knocked on the door once more, "Um... Yachiru? Is that you?"

"So wanna go to the kitchen? Hee hee." Yachiru jumped up and down. She tugged on Goku's arm and edged him to the stairwell.

His amber eyes followed the girl in her bubbly bouncing and he couldn't fight the amused grin that followed, "Yup. And you must be Yachiru." Not that that was already a fact seeing as the door had her name on it. But he continued, "Tall though? I don't really think so... I'm sorta short for my ag-ah!"
He suddenly felt himself be jerked down as Yachiru latched onto his arm mid-hop and dragged his arm with her on her decent, which ended with him leaning down quite awkwardly. Then she began to drag him along with her down the hall. Well, this was an odd situation. Still, Goku couldn't help but laugh out at her antics. "Are you kidding? I'm so hungry I could eat... I could eat you, you little devil!"

She stopped at the 5th floor and looked around a bit. "Nee~ Gokuuuu. How old are you?" She turned to him with a smile. After looking around some and realizing that 5 is not 1 she continued to run down the steps dragging Goku with her. She had picked up this tactic of finding her way after her run with Raby.
She reached the 2nd floor and stopped again. 2 isn't 1, right? She thought for a moment. She didn't want to get lost and she was trying her best. She was really hungry too. She turned to Goku once more and asked "What kind of candy do you like?" She smiled and then continued to run down the steps again. This time a bit faster. Until she finally stopped right before a wall.
"Yaay! Kitcheeeen~ Hee hee. See I got us there! Nyaa~" She tugged at Goku as she walked into the large dining hall where the servants all were busy tidying up and keeping things orderly.

Goku was shaken from his daydreaming when she threw a few more questions at him. "Ah, I'm 18 years old, Yachiru. And as for favorite candy... I can't decide! They're all good in their own way. But you know, I don't really like bitter candies, kinda like...," Goku broke off there, noticing that the little Shinigami had already gotten off topic again. But that didn't really matter to him because, at that moment, Yachiru had dragged him into the largest kitchen he'd ever seen. Larger than any kitchen he'd ever dreamed up. And it was so clean and orderly and... and so full of food!
Dumbly, Goku reached down and put a hand on the girl's shoulder, "Wow... there's so much to eat. And... and it's all free, right? We don't have to pay for it?"
no subject
"Wow Goku your 18?! Nyaa! Your really young compared to all the old guys I know!" Yachiru proclaimed as she stuffed her face. She offered him a piece of confetti candy and then continued, "What's it like on your Earth? What kind of ryoka live there ♥?" She spun around in her seat and continued to munch happily.

Of course, when Yachiru yanked his arm again and dragged him to the food, Goku was quick to forget about that as all his senses were overwhelmed with the scents and look of the dishes laid out. It was like he'd died and gone to heaven, only better. You probably had to pay in heaven.
He snatched up a few meat buns from the table on his right, an onigiri or two on his left, and a few lollipops he'd found scattered along the counter, all of which he was making sure to balance in the crook of his elbows.
As he stuffed the first meat bun into his mouth, he finally registered that Yachiru was once again speaking to him. Goku attempted to answer, but then remembered that the girl probably couldn't understand him with cheeks half full of meaty goodness. He flailed a little, attempting to ask her to wait while he finished the delectable, utterly magnificent thing that was known as food. Man, he hadn't had a decent meal like this in ages.

She grabbed more food and a whole bunch of lollipops and confetti candy. She munched them down quickly the whole time smiling at Goku. He really did look like a chipmonk to her.

But she wouldn't dwell on it much longer. She shoved the thought to the back of her mind and continued to munch on her food. "Eeeh? What were you trying to say, Chipmunk?"
no subject
Goku shrugged nonchalently and munched on a piece of bread, "I was asking if I could give you a nickname too. Fair is fair, right?"

Suddenly her little happy bubbly mood changed to anger. "...No! My name's special!" Yachiru glared at Goku and slammed her hand down on the table.

"I didn't have a name until after I died." Yachiru looked up to Goku and smiled. Now just wasn't the time to be sad about silly things. "My parents were killed in Soul Society before they could name me. If you die there, that's it. Your soul is gone. So someone else gave it to me. But I don't remember who...it's probably this place's fault." Yachiru grinned and tried to shake off the despair that had troubled her. "Hee hee, does your name mean anything Chipmunk?" Yachiru took a lollipop and offered it to Goku as a sort of "peace offering".

Though, he figured, the Soul Reaper probably didn't want to be weighed down with thoughts and memories like that. "I'm... I'm so sorry for ya. It must've been tough on you. Even worse that you can't remember the person, huh?" Goku shook his head and wiping off the concerned frown. "I bet you'll remember sometime, Yachiru! I don't know if I can help, but if you need any help, I'm here!"
Pleased with his promise, Goku continued to answer her question. Maybe he'd even distract her from their previous conversation. "My name? Um... I dunno. I guess I forgot after all those years. I forgot a lot of stuff from when I was little, but it was apparently really important. At least, that's what everyone's told me." He flashed another brilliant smile at her before picking the sandwich up off his plate. How many was that now? Seven? Psh, nothing but an appetizer!
no subject
"Chipmunk, are your friends from your Earth here? What are they like? Are they nice like you? Hee hee." Yachiru bit down on her lollipop and reached for some more food.
no subject
He took another bite from his sandwich to calm himself. "Nevermind. It's a weird story. I can't even remember the whole thing." Goku sighed and picked up what looked like a platter of spring rolls. Or something like them. "My friends? I've only met one of them here so far, and he's acting all weird. Keeps calling himself "Gonou", which isn't his name. He's pretty set on it though." He took a bite from the roll. Hm, not bad.
no subject
"So then the thing you forgot was a person too, huh? Do you know their name? Did Gonou tell you their name? Bya chan told me the name of the person I forgot! His name was funny too! Hee hee." Yachiru grabbed a few pieces of fugu onigiri and munched on them. Keeping her childish smile on her face the whole time.
"Maybe Gonou doesn't like his old name anymore? Does he remember you? What was his old name? Nyaa~" Yachiru began to swing her legs back and forth under the table. She hummed again as she munched on her food.

Goku finished the last of the rolls and reached out to grab a lollipop. He popped the brightly coloured candy into his mouth and gnawed on it in thought. "Hm... well, I think so. It's kind of weird, you know. It's like... there's someone there, and I can remember talking to this person, but I can't picture them or anything about them." He bit down again, this time snapping the lollipop in two. He pulled the broken piece out and placed it on his plate before sticking the piece still on the stick back in his mouth. "And Hakkai wasn't any help either. He won't answer any of my questions." Goku paused and laughed, "Well, there you go. See, his real name's Hakkai, Cho Hakkai, but now he keeps calling himself Gonou because... well I dunno. Just because." He flopped down so his torso fell atop the counter, inches away from the plate. "Besides, Hakuryu isn't with him, which is making me wonder if everything's alright with him."
no subject
"Nyaaa. You can remember talking to the person? Waaaah! I don't even remember them at all. Bya chan kept persisting about the person I knew. He told me stuff about him. Said I was ALWAYS with him and I rode on his back! But I guess that explains why I thought I didn't have a Captain. Hee hee. The old Captain died a long time ago and as far as I knew I didn't think we ever got a replacement but I guess we did! Hee hee." Yachiru laughed at the thought of it all. She never realized how silly that was. Her not remembering her own Captain. There HAD to be a Captain. Soul Society was slow when it came to updating but not that slow.
"Who's Hakuryu?" Yachiru munched on some more food. After a few moments she gasped and began to flail her arms. "CHIPMUNK! Do you think Hacky forgot about YOU!?!?!?" Yachiru swung her arms around in circles. From a distance it might've looked like she was trying to fly.

This wasn't making him feel too good. At least he had Yachiru to spill all his complaints on. Her up-beat nature was really cute, plus it relieved stress. Well, for him anyway. Maybe not for more serious people, but he didn't care about them. "Hakuryu? He's Hakkai's dragon-Jeep-thing! We used him to go West, but half the time he just stayed in his dragon form." He was about to go on when Yachiru burst out. Taken aback, Goku paused for a moment then leaned forward on his chair and faced her. "No way! You think so?" He was really serious for a moment before he fell back to the counter and moaned. "No that can't be it! He remembered my name. It probably has something to do with the person I can't remember or something. I know they were important, whoever they were.

"Waaah!? A DRAGON!! What's a jeep? Nyaa~ Was he a big dragon? I've never SEEN a dragon before! Your world sounds fun, Chipmunk! I wish I could go there! Hee hee." Yachiru smiled as she slirped up her soba noodles.
"People are always important, silly! So of course they were important! Nyaa! Uun..but if you remember talking to that one person so much they must have been really important to you right?" Yachiru smiled. She could tell the subject was getting to Goku but her curiousity won over her caring nature. But the least she could do if she had to ask was at least try to cheer Goku up with a smile and another offering of candy.
