Thread: Practice makes perfect? [Yuna and Tidus]

Who: Yuna and Tidus.
What: Blitzball practice. BUT A SHOCKING DISCOVERY IS MADE.
When: After this.
Where: At the pool?
Rating: PG?

Blitzball? Tidus hadn't been expecting that he'd get to play it here. They didn't have a real place to do it the way you did it in Zanarkand (used to do it?) or Luca or a team or anything like that. But there was water and that was good enough.

It did bug him, just a little, that that Shuin guy said he was from Zanarkand and he was the star player of the Zanarkand Abes, though. He'd never met him face to face, so maybe the guy could just be a big fan making things up, but... considering everything else, maybe it was just as possible for him to be telling the truth, making him from the real Zanarkand, the one from a thousand years ago. Not Tidus' dream Zanarkand. But he was here and felt pretty real himself, too, right? That was sort of hard to get your mind around, but this place was already filled with weird things going on, so that was actually nowhere near as weird.

At any rate, for now, all Tidus wanted to focus on was getting in some practice with Yuna. It couldn't hurt to brush up on things. Besides, it'd be fun.

Once he'd seen Yuna's reply and scribbled a quick response in return, Tidus left straightaway, making his way down to the first floor and the room where the pool was.

It was a while since Yuna last played blitzball. The Gullwings were asked to be a temporary fill-in team for the Besaid Auroch's, and she couldn't possibly say no to her childhood friend and ex-guardian, Wakka. Although they lost due to inexperience, she did have fun. A lot of fun! All of that time she spent practicing how to hold her breath under water eventually became useful. And for that, she was quite proud of herself. Yuna remembered thinking.. She someday wanted to share that with Tidus. And this was where they were.

After finding a new swimsuit in her closet, the exsummoner made her way downstairs to the pool. Recognizing Tidus up ahead, she quickened her footsteps, nearly calling out his name. But she decided to surprise him instead and said nothing. With a small smile on her face, she made a run straight for him and hugged him from behind.

"Did I surprise you?" she giggled softly, resting her head against his warm, broad back.

"Hee. You probably did, but that's okay. Thank you for letting me," Yuna smiled as she gently pulled away from him. She nodded slightly and walked further into the pool area, mismatched eyes glancing around. That blitzball .. Where was it the last time she came to swim? As she suddenly remembered, she ran across the platform to the mini shed, where various toys and floats for the pool were kept. After a minute of rummaging around inside, she came out with the blitzball and a grin.

"I knew I saw this!" She was worried she may have mistakened something else for a blitzball--especially after Shuin said he couldn't find one. But her life was surrounded by the game since she was young; how could she forget? Tucking the ball under her arm, Yuna made her way back over Tidus, and lightly threw it to him.

"All right, let's get started!" she said in a playful tone, before she turned to the pool and dove into the deep end. Surfacing, she pushed her drenched hair back and waited for him to jump in.

No worries! <3 POOR TIDUS, THOUGH. ;_;

"Okay~" Yuna smiled at the Star Player of the Zanarkand Abes, watching him jump into the pool. She laughed when he did, shielding her eyes from the water that splashed onto her. She turned back, expecting to see him surface any moment now. Worried when the blitzball was the only thing that came back though, she took in a deep breath and submerged herself underwater again. He was struggling to get back! Quickly, Yuna grabbed his shirt, and helped pull him back up to the surface.

Shaking the water out of her hair as well, she then swam over to him and patted his back. "Are.. Are you okay?" she asked breathily, pushing the blonde locks of hair away that clung to his face.

"What happened?" Her eyes were filled with nothing but concern as she also grabbed onto the side of the pool. Although she couldn't remember the details, Tidus was a great swimmer and blitzball player. He couldn't have drowned so easily back here, right?

Or could he?
