LOG: Axel and Sora

Who: Sora and Axel
What: Battle over the right to nicknames!
When: After this
Where: Outside courtyard
Rating: PG?

Sora rubbed his hands together, trying to bring warmth back into his bare fingertips. As much as he liked his fingerless gloves, they really didn't do much against the cold snow. He had thought about changing his gloves before coming outside to the courtyard, but he had decided against it. These gloves were good for fighting, and he had the sense that someone had made these gloves and his outfit especially for him. Even if he couldn't remember them, he didn't want to be mean by disgarding them for any gloves his closet seem to magically produce.

Well, at least the closet had given him a nice scarf, otherwise he would be a lot colder out here. It amazed him how soft and wooly the yellow scarf was.

Humming to himself to, he continued to pat down the snow on the crude snowman he had been building. Growing up on a tropical island had its disadvantages, this was the first time he had ever had the chance to build one. In fact, after talking to Lae (or was it Axel?), Sora decided to get out here as soon as possible so he could try to make one.

Speaking of the guy, he looked around to check to see if he could see him coming yet. He was looking foreward to testing his strength against Lae. The guy said he could fight, and Sora hoped that was true (he was starting to wonder if anyone could fight here). Not to mention, either this guy or his nobody were part of the Organization. Which meant the fight could be a tough one, and Sora wanted the challenge.

It took a while for Lae to find the courtyard - his sense of direction seemed to roll on its back and die at this castle - but when he finally made it outside, the cold bit at his bare hands and made him wish for gloves. He'd managed to find a decent jacket in his room, and that was the only reason he wasn't freezing yet. While the cold wasn't anything knew to him, the redhead still regarded it as an unnecessary evil.

After finding Sora playing in the snow, building some rather horrendous looking snowman, Lae slinked his way over, arms folded, an amused grin tickling his lips. "Having fun, are we?" he drawled.

"For a first time, it's not that bad." Axel had seen much worse at his hometown when the younger ones had tried their first snowman, and the memory made him chuckle a bit. "Of course, you don't have a hat or anything, but nice work."

At Sora's next words, Axel lifted an eyebrow and stared down his nose at the other in barely contained amusement; he hadn't known the boy long, but already Axel felt that Sora trying to act purposely tough was out of character, if not downright funny. "And miss a chance at making you eat snow? Nah." He too was inching for a good battle, as it had been a very long time since he'd had a chance to test out his strength. "So Scrawny, you gonna use your keyblade?"

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
The sudden sight of the keyblade sent Axel into a temporary shock, as he hadn't realized Sora could just call the thing out of nowhere. For a moment he looked apprehensive about this battle; he didn't have any weapon at all, and if Sora's job was to beat the crap out of heartless, he apparently knew how to use that blade of his. "Hmm, I guess I'll have to."

Absentmindedly he picked up a handful of snow and packed it carefully, eying his work. "Your sword against my snowballs. Good enough for ya?" Chances were this battle wouldn't last long with these odds, but Axel had a gift with giving people a run for their money.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Axel wouldn't deny that he was mentally 'special' in some way or another, but didn't let that thought deter him. Tossing the snowball up in the air and catching it, he watched Sora take up his stance with mild curiosity. Hmmm, he did know what he was doing; good, it would make their little match last longer.

Instead of taking up on Sora's demand to strike first, Axel promptly turned his back on the other and walked a bit away before turning back. "Egh, no thanks." He smiled slyly and tossed the snowball up in the air again. "Not my style. Let's see your moves, Sora." He wasn't stupid. Better to let Sora go first rather than waste his energy figuring out Sora's fighting style.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Axel watched him charge after, his grin sliding off and his expression turning serious. As soon as Sora was in swinging distance, he pratically dodged and danced his way from the blow, feeling the blade shift the air next to his shoulder. Damn, if that had hit. "At this rate, I won't get to call you Scrawny, Sora," he pouted good-naturedly.

He put a few more feet between them before he bent, scooped up a decent-sized pebble, and worked it into the snowball. If he wanted to win, he'd need something a bit more dangerous than a snowball. "Didn't want to do this, but..." He shrugged, started to go on the offense as he ran not at Sora, but at an angle. Axel aimed, and threw the ball directly for Sora's knee-cap.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't have enough time to grab another pebble, and it looked like Sora meant business now. Axel steeled himself for impact, knowing he wouldn't get away from this one, and bit back a curse as Sora's blade hit him in the side, above his hip. Okay, that had hurt. And that was with the blunt side.

"I could say the same for me," he gritted out with a smirk. His competitive side now fully aroused, Axel managed to stagger back slightly before he brought his leg out, swiping it against Sora's legs.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
The keyblade struck the side of one thigh, almost causing Axel to grunt out in pain. Jeez, at this rate he'd get his ass handed back to him. He didn't move back this time though, instead using this window of opportunity to, quite literally, aim a solid punch to Sora's face.

Truthfully he didn't want to do such a thing - Axel found that when given the choice, he liked long-distance fighting - but he had limited options right then. And Sora wanted a decent fight, right?

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Axel fell to the ground and managed to stop himself from falling straight on his face with his hands. He forced himself up despite the obvious back pains and turned to Sora, looking both miffed and amused. "At least I hit you in the front," he complained and cracked his neck, inwardly moaning at his injured back. "That's playing dirty."

He took a step back, and the back of his boots brushed up against something small. His eyes went downward. Huh, more pebbles. Well at least he could go on the offensive for a while. "Alright Sora, let's see you dance." He scooped up about twenty or so pebbles and started running, flinging the first stone at Sora's person, followed quickly by another.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Well yes, anyone with the name 'Demyx' is going to sound lame." He went through his arsenal of pebbles quickly, barking out a laugh when his first one hit Sora right in the forehead.

"You can fight but you suck at dancing," he stated slyly, making sure none of the ricocheting pebbles hit him. Of course, since none came his way, Axel found himself once again without ammunition. Sighing, he only gave a one-shoulder shrug and looked expectantly at his opponent. "I'm all out; feel free to do something while we're still young."

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Silently, Axel agreed. He really didn't feel like getting swatted at with a keyblade again. But this couldn't be helped. He had no weapon, nor could he think of one that he'd be able to use efficiently anyway.

"Unless you think I can magically pull one out of the air, you'll have to do something. I can really only defense and then kick your ass while you're swinging that stick of yours." He blinked innocently, and it would've been convincing if not for the upward twist of his lips.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 10:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Weapons out of the air... Like you I take it." If he could've pulled a weapon out of the air, Axel would like to think he'd be aware of such an ability.

Luckily he just let the subject slide - it was still a sore one for him - and focused more on the charging teen. He had an idea alright, but he also knew what would wind up happening to him afterwards...

"Good thing I like going out with a bang," he muttered to himself, and patiently waited for Sora to reach him, arms folded, not moving from his position.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Axel noticed Sora's pace slowed as he approached, and had to smile a bit. Touching as it was, his honor would probably be the death of him.

It was when he raised his arms to swing that Axel decided now was as good a time as any; he'd planned on waiting a few moments longer, but there was no way he could let this pass. He moved in quickly and forcefully grabbed Sora by his front collar, knowing full-well he'd most likely get a blade to the skull but refusing to let go.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Winning," Axel said simply. His other hand wrapped around Sora's wrist, the one that held onto the blade, and he twisted painfully. While he wasn't going for breaking a wrist, he did want Sora to drop that damn sword of his and even the playing field.

"Really should've just hit me over the head, Sora," he reprimanded seriously.

(ooc: Is that overstepping it too much? If so, I can change it.)

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nice to know I'm in your thoughts," he snickered darkly, feeling quite pleased with himself. It turned out to be short-lived when he found himself falling to the ground, his knee crying out in protest.

However Axel didn't feel like hitting the ground alone, and so refused to relinquish his grip on Sora's wrist. As he fell, he pulled down hard, taking the brunette with him.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Sora, get the hell off me." He did not like being pinned down to anything, by anything. Squirming, he tried to buck Sora off, only to fail. "And we're putting you on a diet after this."

Axel's eyes almost popped out of his skull as he felt his wrist being yanked painfully in one direction. Was this kid trying to break both their wrists? This might not end well, especially with the way they were sparring. Still, he stubborn streak refused to let him quit yet, and Axel just winced from the pain and fought back. He twisted his captured wrist in the other direction, feeling the skin stretch painfully.

(ooc: *SNERK* It's fine! Axel getting pinned and pwned amuses me so. ♥)

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
His wrist suddenly fell free for it's prison, outrageously sore and pained but otherwise no damage. More than he could say for Sora. The yelp he heard from the other alerted Axel of his opponent's obvious predicament, and Axel climbed to his feet.

Rubbing his own bruised wrist gently, he walked over to Sora... and promptly smacked him in the head with his elbow. "You stupid dumbass," he remarked, and grabbed onto Sora's arm, keeping to boy still. "Stop moving, you're making it worse."

(ooc: AHAHAHA. Poor Sora! Now Axel is going to go 'big brother' on him without meaning to.)

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Keep moving and I'll smack you again," he said impatiently, leaning in to get a better look. The wrist appeared very bruised, turning a dark bluish purple, making the area look sickly. Axel couldn't help but wince.

"Well... if it's not broken, it's fucked up enough." When Sora kept squirming, he shot the other a harsh glance. "Stop." With one last look at the injured wrist, Axel brought it down gently to Sora's side. "Well, I'm guessing this battle is done for now." How sad; all that energy and they didn't even have a winner.

[identity profile] flurry-of-fire.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Axel had been looking toward the distance with a thoughtful expression, but Sora's plea for a rematch broke him out of his reverie. He turned, giving the other a mildly surprised look. He hadn't expected Sora to look forward to any match for a long while, and the redhead had to smile slightly.

"You've got a one-track mind, but sure, we'll continue when you're better," he told him playfully, even going as far as to ruffle Sora's hair in one of his few displays of affection. Apparently Sora had successfully made it on Axel's 'people I won't kill' list; quite a feat in such a short amount of time.

"Let's get your wrist fixed up." Nodding toward the inside of the castle, Axel walked behind Sora and pushed lightly on his back. "March, Scrawny."
