LOG: Haruhi and Kyon in the Snowball Battle

Who: Haruhi & Kyon Possibly any of the other people in the snowball fight if insterested?
What: The Snowball Fight on the SOS Brigade front
When: During the Snowball Fight on Sunday
Where: Outside
Rating: Lets go PG-13 for possible language and violence

It was a fine day for a battle.

Haruhi stood on the edge of the snow fort they had been building for the snowball ball fight, scanning the horizon for the enemy. It would be only a matter of time before they showed up, the signs posted said the match would start in about ten minutes from what it was now. And Haruhi would be prepared for them. She was going to win this match.

Hopping down into the trench that had been dugged out on the fort, she looked over at her subordinate. She had put him to work readying snowballs, since the fort had been completed. It was too bad they couldn't find the others yet (they had to be hiding somewhere), but this would do for her for now.

"You ready yet Kyon?" She asked, her hands on her hips.

Ready? If ready had become a synonym for half-desperate to get this over with, preferably with the least amount of frostbite possible, then yes, he was ready. Kyon made a face at the snowballs lined up in front of him. His fingers were stiff and numb after carrying out that task. Why was he doing this in the first place? Wasn't the snowball fight something that had nothing to do with him and Haruhi at all? Why did they need to get involved?

It was too late for questions. Sometimes it was like he must have signed some kind of contract to sell his soul to a demon wearing the guise of a high school girl. This seemed to be one of those times, considering that he'd been roped into building a snow fort and digging out a trench and preparing the ammunition.

Maybe, if Asahina were here, Haruhi would have forced her into an outfit that somehow went with this unexpected situation, too. A medic, waiting to tend to the soldiers injured out on the snowy battlefield? A guardian angel to watch over them?

Kyon sighed and glanced up to look at Haruhi, his expression flat as he rubbed his fingers, trying to get some feeling back into them. At least, if Haruhi wasn't going to get bored of all this quickly, the world was safe, right? That was what he was supposed to keep in mind.

What a thought, still.

Kyon eyed the proffered mitten dubiously, but he could decipher what that look Haruhi was giving him along with it meant. And he'd been dragged around or yanked backwards by his collar in class enough times to know what could happen when Haruhi wanted to get something done.

It wasn't even a matter of needing to swallow his pride before he could accept a glove from a girl when something like that should be the other way round or anything like that. It was simply that this was Suzumiya Haruhi.

Kyon managed to fight back a sigh this time, listening to Haruhi's instructions (or commands). "Right." He tugged the mitten over one of his hands. It was somewhat warmer then - not surprisingly, since the mitten had been on a hand all this time.

Glancing up to look outside their makeshift fort, Kyon added, "They're probably going to use similar tactics." What other 'tactics' could be involved, anyway, when it came to throwing snowballs at each other?

[OOC: Sorry for taking so long with catching up everywhere. D: Don't worry about replying, if you'd prefer to move on? Thanks again, though! ♥]

They had no choice but to be better, did they? Koizumi wasn't here with any reminders to make sure that Haruhi's mood didn't worsen and set off the consequences of that, but Kyon knew that well enough by now anyway. And maybe it was a good thing that Asahina and Nagato weren't here to be dragged into the chaos that was sure to ensue once the first snowball was thrown and hit its target.

Kyon surveyed their surroundings for a moment longer before he did as Haruhi asked, reaching for the nearest snowball and handing it to her. As long as nobody accidentally got in the way, this wasn't going to trigger any carnage just yet.
