On-going thread
Who: Axel, Sora, Roxas
What: Axel and Sora visit Roxas to get this 'Lae' and 'Axel' business straightened out.
When: Sometime after this
Where: In the halls, then Roxas' room.
Rating: PG13, just in case Axel gets crude with the language. x3
He really didn't know why he was wasting his time.
Thoroughly convinced that his conversation with Roxas had been nothing more than a unintentional mix-up, Axel wanted to forget the entire thing and move on. He'd been prepared to do so until he opened his fat mouth, which was the reason he was even on this floor.
Still, to be fair, he wanted this little 'mystery' solved. Not that he believed either Sora or Roxas; nor did he think he owed them anything so that he had to prove his sincerity. His main motive turned out to be purely selfish; he could just tell his focus would fly out the window unless this was resolved quickly, and Axel wanted to concentrate his efforts on finding an exit and getting out of the castle... Not that it mattered quite as much. If Sora was correct and they were in another world, well, getting home just got that more complicated.
"If this is a dream, it's one of my more screwed-up ones," he commented to himself, walking down the stairs to Sora's floor. The keyblade bearer had been gracious enough to give Axel quick directions to both his room and Roxas' just in case Axel decided to get himself lost again. It didn't take long, now that he knew where he was going, and the redhead quickly found himself outside Sora's door, room 219. Rapping his hand gently against the door with the back of his hand, Axel waited for him to come out.

A soft knocking was at his door, and he looked up from the arguement about snowmen a bunch of people were having. That was probably Lae...or Axel if Roxas was right. Either way, it was that guy. "One moment!" Sora shouted and rolled off his bed, catching himself as he hit the ground. Quickly he got up and slipped on his sneakers that had been carelessly left on the floor the last time he had taken them off.
Moving quickly to the door, he opened it up and immediately had to look up at the guy on the other side. Lae, Axel, whoever he was, he was tall. Sora had to crane his neck to see the guy's face. He was also surprised to see how bright and red the guy's hair was. Sora didn't remember any of the nobodies having such a vibrant hair color, or anyone for that matter. It was also sort of weird how the guy seemed to have two tear drops as tattoos, one for each eye. Maybe it was a thing with his world, Sora thought shrugging.
"Hey Lae! Glad to see you came!" Sora grinned up at the red head. He was glad he had come, this was important to Roxas. And he always enjoyed meeting new people.

"Anyway, let's get going. I want this straightened out so I can start looking for a way out." While the castle seemed to be very accommodating and all, Axel knew his village needed him. Or he hoped there was enough left of it after the heartless attack to be helped. "Which room is Roxas in again?"
no subject
But as usual his anger quickly faded. "Okay! Roxas is in 319, so just one floor up exactly." he stated as he started walking towards the stairs. This guy sure was determined to get out of here and back home. Sora couldn't say he blamed him, he was all too familiar with that feeling even now. The mere idea of home gave him a knot in his stomach.
But if Roxas was right about this guy being Axel...then this guy's home would of already been taken by heartless. It would still be around now since he was the one to bring back all the worlds...but it wouldn't be the home that this guy was expecting. He would be...
Quickly he brushed those thoughts aside. No need to think about that until later, right? Afterall, maybe Roxas was wrong. There was always a chance of that.

"... Hey, what's your home like, Sora?" he asked vaguely, more to fill the silence than to start a conversation. The silence irked him, and Axel didn't want to be left alone with his thoughts.
Well, that wasn't quite true. Ever since Sora had mentioned other worlds, Axel's interest had peaked. The idea intrigued part of him for reasons he couldn't explain, but it excited the random adventurer he sometimes found himself to be on his home world. Did it resemble his world, or did Sora live in a completely different environment? He folded his arms across his chest as he thought to himself, mind going in many directions at once.

"Its pretty quiet," Sora started saying after a moment. "Bunch of islands where not much happens. But its very pretty, the ocean is so blue and it sparkles in the sun. And there's a small island there that I used to loved to hang out on, spent most of my time there." He would play with other kids there, he knew that much. But he couldn't remember any of the other kids, no matter how hard he tried. Sighing, he shoved his hands in his pockets. Talking about home made him even more homesick. "I miss it a lot."
"What about your world?" He knew nothing about Axel's world except that they had a heartless problem. "Whats it like?"
no subject
"It's a block of ice," he replied cheerfully. "Barely any sun, nothing ever happens, and it's cold most of the time. Egh, I guess you could call it pretty." He shrugged nonchalantly. "There's always a sheet of white snow covering the place and the mountains, but I don't really care that much for it." He sighed to himself, one of soft longing, returning his gaze to the front. "I'd rather there was lots of sunshine and heat." It felt strange admitting this to anyone, especially a stranger, but Axel felt relatively at ease. "I was always more of a fire person. Drives the locals nuts."

They started walking up the stairs as Axel explained his home. Sora tried to imagine it in his head. It sounded a bit like that one village in China in the mountains. Which he had liked just fine, but it wasn't his kind of place. But he still would like to see Axel's home sometime...if it was still there. "Sounds cold," Sora said offhand. "I'd think you'd like Destiny Islands. Its always warm and sunny there."
"Fire person? What do you mean?"

They had by then reached the top of the stairs, now on the next level of rooms, and Axel began searching for room 319. He'd forgotten he already had a companion who knew exactly where it was, mind more focused on getting this over with; their talk about homes had affected Axel as much as it had Sora, and the call of his village tugged more painfully at him.

As they reached the third floor he looked up to see Axel looking around for the room. Sora couldn't help but smile. "Its right where my room is on this floor, Lae" He knew for sure where his Nobody lived. It was the first place he had visited when he came to this world after all. And the first memory he had of someone who didn't want to kill him.

[OOC: I guess its time for Roxas eh?]

Roxas simply stared. "... Sora? ... Axel?" Maybe... they remembered?

Looking the blond over, the redhead seemed to search for a specific something that he couldn't name. The thought that maybe he did know Roxas crossed his mind for a split second, only to be dismissed as idiocy, and Axel met the other's eyes briefly before turning to Sora. "Yeah, never seen him before," he stated with no lack of triumph. Well that was the end of that.
no subject
To Lae's reply, Sora narrowed his eyes slightly. That was a bit rude, not even a greeting? But on the other hand, Roxas recongized the guy! It was one thing to mistake someone's handwriting, but a whole other thing to mistake their appearance! There had to be a connection! "You sure?" he asked both of them.
no subject
Looking past him to Sora, he nodded. "I'm sure. This is Axel."

This was so confusing and frustrating, Sora gripped his head and tugged at his hair slightly. Pacing slightly, Sora thought of the possiblities "Maybe he has memories problems," it seemed to be going around. "Or maybe this is his other self?" That could be it, though weren't nobodies suppose to look different? Him and Roxas certainly didn't look a lot alike.

Let's meet again--in the next life.
Axel had been kidding, but... maybe he was more right than he knew. Roxas frowned, looking from Axel--Lae, whatever--and then to Sora. "I... don't know."
no subject
"Excuse me for being out of the loop but... what's an Other?" He directed the question at both of them, letting his gaze linger on each for a second. "Does it have something to do with all these Nobodies and Heartless?" Axel felt like he was back in school with all these new terms he was learning.
no subject
His eyes stayed on Roxas even as he answered Axel's question. "An other self for a nobody are people who, well, I guess you can say they're complete. They have a heart." He wasn't really sure how to explain it. He wasn't exactly an expert.
no subject
It was so hard to explain. Roxas rubbed the side of his face. He hated explaining things he didn't really understand himself. Axel would have known.
no subject
"So... basically you're a Nobody and he's the 'Other'?" Axel looked skeptical, mostly because if this was true, Roxas didn't have a heart. And from his standpoint, he couldn't fathom something like that to be true.
no subject
of course, who could blame him? Sora when he thought about it, certainly couldn't.
no subject
He really wished he would have known they were coming to visit. Maybe then Roxas could have fled. Or something.
no subject
"You don't seem to be like Sora, though you kinda look alike," he said, contemplating while staring hard at the blond. Since they'd arrived at his door, Roxas had said next to nothing. It... bothered Axel.
He stared harder, almost accusingly.
New thread~
Actually the more he thought about it, the more this whole idea of nobodies and their others hurt his head. "Well, its complicated I guess. And me and Roxas aren't really experts." He wondered briefly if Namine would know more. She seemed to be a lot less confused than him and Roxas most of the time.
He raised an eyebrow at how Axel was staring at his nobody. What was the deal with that?
no subject
Or he had been. Now he just felt like some extra burden. He was the one telling them they had forgotten something. Maybe it would have been best if he had kept his mouth shut.
Axel's gaze wety unnoticed by Roxas. He was too caught up in his own thoughts.
no subject
"I'm guessing you'll still think I'm Axel, won't you?" It was annoying, yes, but no point in getting vicious over it. Besides, it wasn't as if Roxas had proof. All he had were his so-called memories, and those could hardly be trusted by Axel. "Fine, if it helps you sleep at night, Rox." That sounded a bit harsh to his ears, so he tried again. "I mean, no hard feelings or anything." He kinda felt sorry for the other, for both of them, actually.
no subject
And speaking of his nobody, he found himself whirling around to face him. Sora couldn't be the one to explain all this. Roxas was the one to know Axel, not him. For all he know, this was Lae, a man he just met. "And you." he said with his business tone. "Say something. Yeah this is a surprise, but you're the one with the memories Roxas." his voice soften "Tell us who Axel is and why you think this guy is him. Maybe we can figure something out then,"
no subject
"You--Axel," He corrected himself quickly,"was a member of the Organization. He and I were friends." Best friends, his mind added, but he kept that to himself. "But I left because I wanted answers. He was the only one that..."
Would have missed me.
Roxas cleared his throat. "I ended up getting put into a computer generated reality, but Axel tried to get me out of it... before I became a part of Sora." He didn't look at his Other, not wanting to be reminded of their failed attempt. "I didn't remember him until it was too late."
The boy looked down at the floor. The memories were a bit foggy, but he knew he had to at least try to say it. Best to be blunt than to stand there like an idiot, right?
"Later... he killed himself in order to help Sora." To help him.
no subject
While he still didn't believe he was the same guy as Roxas' friend, an uncomfortable pit was forming in his gut, as if he knew this wouldn't end in his favor. If it hadn't been for the fact that he wanted to get this straightened out, Axel would've listened to his brain and retreated.
"Let's say, for the sake of argument, that I am this... 'Axel'," he started slowly, as if to make sure he didn't end up losing Roxas and Sora. "That would mean I'm dead." He stopped, looking at both of them, eyebrows raised. "Right?"
no subject
Nobodies have no hearts, therefore they cannot feel. Someone had told him that once, when he first learned about nobodies. That thought came floating into his head, like it always did when he was up against a nobody. Though since coming to this place, and watching these two now, the words seem to be more flimsy than before. These emotions looked so real to him.
When Axel asked about him being dead, Sora looked up trying to rack his brain for any memory of Axel. Nothing came, much to his frustration. Someone dies for him and he can't even remember them, that just seemed insulting to Sora. "I guess so," he managed to choke out. He had nothing else, what exactly do you say to that one?
no subject
Sighing, Roxas looked like he sorely wanted to just slam the door on these two. Instead, he just rubbed the back of his head. "If it helps... I'm not supposed to be around, either."
no subject
He calmed down a moment later, leaning heavily against the wall behind him and slapping a hand over his eyes. "Look, like I said, this is all nice, but I still have no proof." The hand dropped and Axel openly glared at both of them. "Don't you have a photo or something? Notebook? Anything that doesn't include memories I can't see?"
no subject
At Axel's request to see some proof, Sora held up his hands innocently. "Don't look at me," he said. He couldn't even remember anyone, why would he have any sort of proof proving who he had met? "Though what reason would we have to lie?"
no subject
no subject
"Unless you can give me something convincing, I'm not buying it." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Sorry kids."
no subject
He went back to racking his head for possibilities to prove this guy was Axel. but that was a problem, since the members of the Organization looked like normal people. In fact the only way to tell them apart was because of..."a black cloak." Sora thought out loud. Maybe that would mean something to those two.
no subject
All he did was raise an eyebrow at Sora. He was lacking the energy to do much else. Yeah, they wore black coats...
"Look," Roxas suddenly said, speaking to Axel, "If you don't want to believe us... then don't. But I know you're him."
no subject
To Roxas, Axel tilted his head slightly to the side, and his eyes narrowed a bit. "I'm not, so don't worry about that detail. I just want to make sure you're not insisting I'm some friend of yours."
no subject
no subject
"Yeah... me either." He had tried to return to wherever he belonged, and he had failed. He tried to find more information on this place, and he had failed.
He had tried to remind Axel of who he was, and he had failed. Three for three.
no subject
"This has been fun, but it's time I left." Nothing had been solved; all this visit had proved was this Axel character needed to hurry up and appear so 'Lae' could wash his hands of the entire incident.
