Mission 001 [Dictated]

[There's a clunking sound over the journals, one attributed to someone wearing some heavy-duty armour picking themselves up from the ground.

This time, it belongs to one Chief Warrant Officer Jorge-052, waking up in his room in the castle...

And wondering how the hell he got there.]

... Ugh. Where the hell am I?

[A pause, and then the following filters out]

This is Noble Five, calling on all UNSC frequencies. Requesting pickup. Current location... [He looks around] Unknown. Looks to be... [Another pause] Some sort of fancy hotel room. Repeat, requesting pickup, over.

[His journal is open nearby, and any UNSC personnel who happen to have their radios on will hear the transmission.]

((OOC: Open to all. Be ready to have one confused Supersoldier.))

[Jorge gets a small, halfhearted chuckle.]

I'd question your sanity if you weren't, sir.

[There's a pause]

What's stopping this from being some sorta Covvie prison? One to test our reactions to stuff.

If it is, they've put a lot of thought into it.

Don't recall the Covenant being much for hostages, though.

Maybe we're being such a big pain in their arses that they finally need to start playing Psychological.

[Snorts.] Too bad that's a battle they're never going to win.

I'd honestly like to see the Covenant try to probe the average soldier's mind.

If they're anything like the soldiers I know, they probably wouldn't get very far.

[Small pause.]

But I personally prefer the physical way of fighting a bit more.

Yeah, and I'd love to see them try to drill into some of the guys I know.

[Noble Four being a prime example. :|]

And you think I don't? Hell, if this does turn out to be a covvie mind game, they're gonna wish they let my bones turn to molecules.

[He doesn't know Noble Four, but he does know Kat. Which is why there's a soft, amused sound over the helmet's comms and nothing else.]

I'm right there with you, sir, but I'm afraid I'd find that harder to believe after being here for half a year.

Well, if you've managed to last this long, corporal, looks like I'll have to try and match that.

[There may be a smile in that tone.]

[Lions are the least of his worries, but he gives a quick 'heh'.]

[They should when this particular lion is Jorge. The SPARTAN is well-known for being a good poker player, after all. And this extends to all bets.

He doesn't like losing]

Then we have a bet. What're the stakes?

[Oh, Rookie has no intentions of winning this game. If it means more UNSC get to stick around, he's happy to lose it.

But the question does prove to stump him a little, taking a moment to think.]

... Five caisos?

That's what the currency here is called. [Pause.] And you can't wish for it, as far as I know.

[And he has no idea what else to bet on, so.]

Now I just gotta find some of those Caisos...
