Mission 001 [Dictated]

[There's a clunking sound over the journals, one attributed to someone wearing some heavy-duty armour picking themselves up from the ground.

This time, it belongs to one Chief Warrant Officer Jorge-052, waking up in his room in the castle...

And wondering how the hell he got there.]

... Ugh. Where the hell am I?

[A pause, and then the following filters out]

This is Noble Five, calling on all UNSC frequencies. Requesting pickup. Current location... [He looks around] Unknown. Looks to be... [Another pause] Some sort of fancy hotel room. Repeat, requesting pickup, over.

[His journal is open nearby, and any UNSC personnel who happen to have their radios on will hear the transmission.]

((OOC: Open to all. Be ready to have one confused Supersoldier.))

She was a good friend, once we stopped butting heads. It wasn't easy to get used to each other, but time managed it.

The Freelancers also came into the project as full adults, with training and specialties already learned. Carolina's the highest ranking member of the group here. I'm a bit of a loose canon in the ranks due to the point in time I came from.

Loose cannon as in the type to wander off and do what he wants, or the type to go around killing everything he sees moving?

[Because there is a difference, really]

The first. I obey when it suits me and is for the greater good, but I've become a bit too independent natured to easily fit back into line. If it were the second, I think Kat would have made sure I was in one of the nice basement cells.

They got cells here, huh? That's good to know.

[A pause, and then an amused tone to his voice]

Just give me a few weeks with ya, I'm sure I can get you back in line.

They do. Damn good ones.

You can try. Kat never quite managed it. Then again, maybe she enjoyed the challenge.

I've been at this gig a lot longer than Kat. And, I'll tell you, if you step outta line on an order I give? You'll know about it.

Just a fair warning.

[Jorge-052 was a SPARTAN-II, not a III like Kat. He's had more experience in the field than most pairs of III's, coupled with the rumours going around that no-one messes with Jorge and gets away with it]

I accepted Kat as an equal. As a partner. There is no one here that I categorize as my superior. Not even the highest ranking member of the project present. I have been giving you courtesy as a teammate to a close friend.

Respect is earned, Spartan. Don't expect it to be just given to you.

If you think I just expect respect, then you've got the wrong impression. No, I've been at this long enough to know that stuff like respect given by proxy doesn't matter too much.

[He fought damned hard to be respected by the rest of Noble, after all.]

If the time comes when we do fight together, what I expect is to pull through whatever mission we have with minimal damage and casualties. [Aside from himself, of course. He's already died once, so he's not too bothered]

Good plan, and you won't have any of the Freelancers here arguing with you. Even though casualties here don't mean as much. You die, you will come back in two weeks, roughly. Kat experienced it once.

I've stared death in the face once in the past half an hour, I'd rather not do it again any time soon.

And I wouldn't want anyone else to, unless they deserve it.

If Carolina or Maine give you any problems when you meet them, tell them to talk to me. Nice to have you here.

They're my team. I think I can smooth things over with them. York won't give you trouble. He was friendly with Kat.

You aren't the first person here that'd be dead otherwise.

Well, apart from a headache, and the fact my armour might need a bit of repairing and a fresh coat of paint, I'm fine.

Paint and components for armor repairs won't be difficult at all. Ask the castle. You just need to be careful how complaex ,you wish for. And be specific.

The Lieutenant mentioned that.

[There's a pause]

Something about this doesn't sit right with me. All this talk of magic.

And if you need help with anything, say the word. We know plenty of maintenance.

Didn't sit well with me either. But I didn't have a choice after getting my first chance to experience a species change.

Yes. Species change. The place does it frequently. Almost got me killed more than once because of it. Kat didn't take the appearance of a gray and yellow elite well.

[Yes, that is sheer disgust in his voice] I'm starting to think I won't like this place.

It turned me into the species. I couldn't even walk properly. Eating was hell. And balancing like that was awful. Can send you some video proof if you don't believe it.
