A conversation tonight more or less sorted things out, but tension has been a bit high since shortly before Christmas.

[Rose reaches out and puts a hand on Jade's elbow, as a calming gesture. She shakes her head, looking a bit weary of all this, and lets out a tired sigh.]

It's his choice, Jade, and his choice alone. He's already thinking quite straight, and I suspect his thoughts are quite a bit more grey and orange than I can satisfy. Please don't upset him anymore than I'm sure I already have.

[There's not much passion in what she's saying, however. She's not planning to intervene if Jade wishes to use violence.]

I don't need any sympathy. I've gotten myself into this situation by my own doing, and you aren't obligated to feel sorry for me.

[She methodically adjusts her headband, then her sash, then her bangs, before finally looking Jade in the eye.]

Besides, you've only just arrived. What sort of friend am I to stop you at the door with mindless blather about my complicated feelings for your ecto-brother? I should be the one apologizing.
