007 ~ One hospital is like another [Action/Dictated]

[So, it's time for work!

And, after a long and complicated Métro ride into the centre of Paris, and a bus to the banks of the Seine, Dr. Carson Beckett finally finds Saint-Pierre Infirmerie, where he was supposed to be working as a locum A&E doctor. He flops in behind his desk, making sure his pager is easily viewable, should he be called to an emergency, and takes out his journal.]

So, who else is starting their first day in Paris without being able to read or speak a bloody word of French?

Aye, everyone here speaks English, but I swear they're bloody talking about me behind my back... And all the labels are in French, too.

((OOC: Feel free to come into A&E with some odd injuries, or to just bug him. Open for voice over journal, or action at the hospital. Also, happy to forward-date, if wanted. Carson is also on-call, so happy to accept random calls in the middle of the night, either by journal or phone!))

He was being a big lassie and refusing treatment. I offered anathesia and everything.

[He eyes Maine] I take it it's got infected, or you've caught tetanus?

[Oh goddammit. Carolina linefaces over at Maine before turning to Carson.]

His limp's gotten worse.

[Maine shrugs, yeah it's true. It's been pretty easy for him to ignore the pain, though.]

He's being treated. [Her tone implies no arguing ever. :|]

[Ohcrap unhappy Carolina. In stark contrast to his earlier behavoir, he's far more docile with her as a handler. He growls lowly and looks at Carson.]

[Because if there was one thing scarier then needles, it was madCarolina.]

[Carson isn't talking to Maine. He's still not impressed with him]

If anything happens to me or my staff because he won't sit still, I won't be responsible for the repercussions.

[He sighs, producing a form, handing it to Maine.]

[Carolina just nods firmly, glancing over at Maine.]

He'll sit still. [She'll make him sit still, even if there's needles.]

[He proceeds to begin walking towards a room nearby]

If you'll follow me, we need to get it checked immediately.

[He does not want to sit still, not for needles. For needles he wants to hurl people across the room. BUT, Boss says to sit still, so he'll sit still. He takes the form and follows Carolina and Carson, not without a fair amount of grumbling on the matter.]

[And just look at all the fucks he gives.

When they get to the room, Carson points to a bed.]

Lie down, lift your trouser leg, and let me take a look.

[Carolina keeps a firm eye on Maine as Carson leads them to a room. She pulls a seat up near the bed so she's close enough to smack either of them if anything funny happens. There's no protection for either of them. :|]

[Dammit he can feel her watching him.]

[He pulls himself up onto the table with a grumble (and a groan from the table), pulls up his pantleg, and starts to undo his own wrapping. YUP it got infected.]

[Carson wrinkles his nose at the smell, and sighs in exasperation]

It's bloody infected. I told you.

[He turns and sticks his head outside, managing to collar an English speaking nurse and relaying some specific instructions]

We'll need antibiotics, a blood screening to see what else your bloody negligence has exposed your body to, an IV drip of drugs, including a tetanus vaccination.

[He eyes that infected leg] I can't stitch it up until the infection's gone, either.

[Carolina looks over at Maine with a 'what the hell is wrong with you' expression. Infected? Had he not even taken care of it in the slightest? ]

Can't you wash it out with out with disinfectant? [Because lol that's how microbiology works. :B She really doesn't know about septicemia or bacteremia. Regardless, she's going to need to call work and tell them she can't be there for the evening performance.]

[HE shrugs at her. He tried, but it wasn't really convenient in the apartment and he didn't really notice it when he was sitting in his car. It was pain, he ignored it.]

[He glances at the Doc and nods, yeah, just throw some bleach on there he'll be fine.]

I'm afraid it's just not that simple.

If he had let me treat it before, maybe some antiseptic would have worked, but this wound needs to be flushed and anti-bacterial agents submitted intravenously.

[He sighs] Any longer and he may have developed Septacemia or Sepsis. He might have already, just not at a serious rate.

Meaning what. [Carolina's gaze has focused more on Carson, wishing she knew what that really meant. Would Maine be staying overnight, would it be worse than that? She does know there will have to be needles, which she'll deal with.]

He'll need to be kept in for monitoring, until signs of the infection abate.

[Nope no uhuh no way it was hard enough to get him here in the first place. He will endure needles with Carolina to beat him if he doesn't but he is not staying.]
