007 ~ One hospital is like another [Action/Dictated]
[So, it's time for work!
And, after a long and complicated Métro ride into the centre of Paris, and a bus to the banks of the Seine, Dr. Carson Beckett finally finds Saint-Pierre Infirmerie, where he was supposed to be working as a locum A&E doctor. He flops in behind his desk, making sure his pager is easily viewable, should he be called to an emergency, and takes out his journal.]
So, who else is starting their first day in Paris without being able to read or speak a bloody word of French?
Aye, everyone here speaks English, but I swear they're bloody talking about me behind my back... And all the labels are in French, too.
((OOC: Feel free to come into A&E with some odd injuries, or to just bug him. Open for voice over journal, or action at the hospital. Also, happy to forward-date, if wanted. Carson is also on-call, so happy to accept random calls in the middle of the night, either by journal or phone!))

[He smiles.] I'll leave you to it. I need to go get the necessary items for treatment.
[He smiles] If you need us, hit the call button. [He points it out]

[Shinichi nods as he reluctantly reaches for his journal. Time to give Ran another another apology. It seemed like that was all he could ever give her now. Even in his real body, with his real name and his real face, he hadn't been able to make their meeting.]

It takes about 20 minutes because the night staff have a basest grasp of English, and Carson has a base grasp of French, but he comes back with the tetanus injections and stitching apparatus.]
All done?

[Shinichi eyes the implements with resignation.]

[He pulls out a bottle of disinfectant, a bowl and some sterilised cloth, taking a seat so he can get at Shinichi's leg better]
When you've got some time, would you mind filling out the patient registration form? [He taps the clip-board]
And this is going to sting.
[He starts to clean the cut with the cloth, soaked in the antiseptic.]
no subject
[He sets his face and endures the pain from the antiseptic stoically as he attempts to figure out the safest way to deal with the situation.]
I have to ask this. Will doctor-patient confidentiality apply to these records?
no subject
[He looks up.] Any reason why you ask?

I'm a detective on a case. Leaving a visible paper trail could be troublesome.

[He'd never seen one so young, but the stories of high school detectives from Japan reached far and wide]
Pretty dangerous job, aye?
no subject
And it is, occasionally.

[He finishes cleaning the cut.]
Would you like some anathesia before I start stitching?

[He takes out a couple more bottles, and some cotton wool, dipping the first ball in and rubbing it over the affected area]
You'll feel it go a wee bit numb, and the affect should only last half an hour. It'll still hurt even with the local anesthesia.

That might well be, but I have to say it anyway.
[He takes out the sutre, and slowly, but deftly, starts to stitch up the cut]

I'd like to keep you in overnight. [He says, taking a needle and prepping it]
Just to make sure there are no adverse effects to the tetanus injections. Do you know if you're allergic to anything?
no subject
Is that really necessary?
And no. No allergies.
