[Xena has found her way to the roof and is currently just sitting up there, looking out at the land beyond the castle, rather enjoying the wind whipping through her hair. She has the journal open and idly dictates into it in that half thoughtful, half bored tone of hers.]

Has anybody bothered mapping out this place? And I mean in detail. Some of you guys have been here for years, right? Enough little adventures like that last one and you could know the land around here pretty well.

Same here! We don't get many answers when people go on expeditions. The last one apparently... no one learned anything new.

Hope you don't mean the one I've still got bruises from. [She wouldn't say "nothing."]

O-Oh! You went on it? [ WHOOPS. ] Are you alright?

I've had worse. [Then again, she's been dead. So that's not saying much.] You're right, though, we didn't learn as much as I'd like and people aren't being too forthcoming with what they've found.

A friend told me you guys found ruins? Is that all?

Ruins, a giant octopus and other assorted monsters, some huge metal thing called a "train"- quite an educational experience.

A giant what?! [ NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THAT. ]

Octopus. You know, big slimy thing with tentacles? [Is not perturbed by this at all.] Have to admit, the swimming through lava thing is new, though.

What even happened on that expedition? Lava? That doesn't make sense!

Seemed like a fairly standard ancient tomb operation to me- we get trapped and split up, fight a few horrible creatures, avoid traps, that sort of thing. Eventually, somebody figured out how to work the "train" and we got out.

Still not too sure on what happened with the other groups. Might want to ask somebody else for the details.

I thought technology didn't work out in the Dead Zone. Where did the train go?

Outside the ruins. Might've gone further if it hadn't crashed through that wall.

I wonder if the First Gens know about that train...

Dunno. I don't think they were using it if they do; I got the impression a couple of our guys had to fix the thing up.

Just another mystery, then...

Seems like it. [And she doesn't sound to bothered by this.]

I'm Uru! It's nice to meet you. I don't think I've ever heard your voice in the journal before.

Haven't been here long this time around. And I'm not exactly the talkative sort.
