003. Dictated/Action
[There's a lot of shuffling and flipping of journal pages before the owner of the journal speaks, though they don't say much.]
Guy?
[Meanwhile, those who walk through the lobby might notice a redheaded ten year-old wobbling like around the room like a toddler, inspecting the furniture and searching for his aforementioned guardian. It might be a good idea to stop him before he gets into trouble though. He's rather prone to it, at this age.]
[[ooc; Loss time! Reminder that Luke is now bitty for the next week or two! Keep in mind that while Luke is physically ten/elevenish, he's mentally only a few months old, so his speech and motor skills are lacking.]]

[Cole's been watching this kid for some time over the top of his newspaper as he reclines on a sofa. Eventually, he sighs, standing and walking over]
Hey, uh... Are you lost?
no subject
[Luke, meanwhile, stares up in utter amazement. It was a new person. People weren't really allowed to come to the manor a lot, so far as he knew.]
Mmm...
[They said something, and he understood most of the individual words but... trying to piece the meaning together was harder...]
Guy?
[Do you know where he is?]
no subject
[Cole couldn't recall seeing a "Guy" in the journal. At least, not yet.]
I can... I can help you try and find him if you want? I'm Cole.
no subject
[At least, he thinks that the person in front of him was asking... The next sentence though was harder. "Help" and "find" though. That sounded right.
And a name? He nods though, at the question.]
no subject
[And then to the kid] What's your name?
[He was getting used to this helping people stuff...]
That picture is adorable. Action
.... Correct. [ Shush. 'Guy?' sounds a lot like checking if he was a guy. ]
Bitty icons tend to be. XD
[... what on earth was this guy even talking about...]
Meant the link but yes /o/
... topic change go. ]
... [ How does he change from a topic he wasn't even completely aware of. ]
. . . . . . [ Awkward silence. He's still not looking in the right direction to see Luke. ]
.. Not where you are accustomed to?
OH yes. XD That too. Saffy gave me more. |D
/o/
... What is he supposed to do? This definitely sounds like a small child. How does one interact with a small child? ]
dictated;
Guy? There isn't anyone by that name here.
[Something bothers her, though.]
Do you need help?
dictated;
He's silent for a few moments as he stares at the book. Then, suddenly:]
Again!
[TALKING BOOK, TALK AGAIN.]
dictated;
I-- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you... The book is how people living here communicate.
Are you all right? Where are you?
dictated;
Luke almost completely ignores what the book is actually saying to giggle and clap his hands. It should be a good indicator that he's not hurt, at least, though not helpful in figuring out his location.
He does pause at the last question. So the book was asking questions now... Was it like a game? He recognizes the words, from when he and Guy would play hide-and-seek, though he hadn't quite reached the infamy and skill that Guy would attribute to him in later years. Except... he looks around. He doesn't know...]
Where... here...?
[He hopes he's asking it right...]
