[Alan clears his throat before beginning:]

A few months ago, the Doctor set up a list of volunteers responsible for making sure that the children on each floor would be accounted for in case of an emergency. Because in the past, a child was left behind and placed in danger - and that can't happen again.

That was all taken care of before we got locked out of the castle last month. With the new floor plan and the changes in rooms, we need to update that list of volunteers and their responsibilities - especially with the coming threat of a castle fire.

Volunteers are responsible for keeping track of the children on their floor and evacuating them in an emergency before going to help defend the castle or get to safety themselves, as well as alerting the residents on the floor they're responsible for that it's an emergency and evacuation is taking place, to help those who aren't able to defend themselves. [Alan himself is just an ordinary guy, after all - might as well acknowledge the possibility.] Usually evacuees are escorted to the TARDISes, but with those out of the castle for the time being, the safest place right now would be Caritas. I know this can't hold everyone, so we're also trying to secure other areas.

I would like to see two volunteers per floor and per tower, in case one of them is unable to assist for any reason. Please let me know if you can help.

Volunteers are always welcome. Alan Bradley - good to meet you, too. Welcome aboard.

Caritas is a bar in the town outside the castle. Generally the Doctors' TARDISes here in the castle are safe zones, but they're out on an expedition. Phoebe's seeing about making the castle's ballroom safe, but I won't know if that's successful until later.

If there's one thing I can trust, it's the word of a Charmed One. [Granted Cole didn't exactly know Phoebe at all due to his loss]

They've beaten me down more than enough times. I'm sure Phoebe will succeed. [And such confidence in his voice] I'll keep shimmering as a backup. People aligned to good don't often feel right when I do it, and I don't want people squirming about mid-shimmer.

Charmed One? [He knows Phoebe's a witch, but he hasn't come across that terminology yet.] Aligned to good? You're going to have to clue me in a little more.

[Yep, Cole, you are really confusing Alan. And if 'Charmed Ones' are good and have defeated Cole then Cole isn't good so why is he helping? What.]

Yep. The Charmed Ones are destined to be the biggest force of Good in the world... In my universe, anyway.

And I'm a demon. Well, half-demon, and was the Source of All Evil's right-hand. Don't worry, trying to kick the whole evil gig. Ask Phoebe. She'll vouch for me, maybe.
