[Eleven's voice sounds a little pained as he dictates]

I apologize for my absence this past week or so. I've been a bit... distracted. I'm afraid I've been a bit, well, ill for lack of a better te-eerm! [The last word turns into a cry of pain. There's a thud as the journal hits the floor and he grabs hold of the console to keep from falling over. After a moment he picks the journal up again and sighs heavily.]

Since it's not showing any signs of going away any time soon I'm forced to concede that this may be another of the castle's ploys... though to what end is completely beyond me. If anyone needs me I'll be in my TARDIS

The castle has really weird losses and things sometimes, doesn't it? I found out that I pretty recently woke up from a nap. A nap of about three weeks. It's really weird, too, because this isn't the first time it's happened... have you heard of anything like that happening to anyone else you know?

I was a plant for a few months, about a year ago. I sneezed sap for a week, afterwords.

Sneezed sap? That doesn't sound particularly comfortable... what was it like being a plant itself?

[She's freaking out enough over how much pain he's in right now, after all.]

I can't remember it, actually. It didn't feel like any time had passed at all.

Really? That's... I mean, I suppose that's a good thing, because if you can't do anything, it probably would've been really boring, but... it'd be kinda interesting to know what it's like to be a plant too, you know?

I'd be careful what I wished for, Shiki. You just might get it one of these days.

Yes. It's hard to tell what sort of a sense of humor this place is wont to have.

That's seriously true. If it were the kind of, um, being to be amused by just a sitcom or something, all of our lives would be so much simpler than they are here.

And heaven forbid it be amused by a soap opera. [He laughs] But, no, we're stuck with Reality TV.

Well, I mean, by the time I came here, it was taking over most TV back at home, so I guess it makes sense...?

But you're totally right... I think I'd rather it be the reality TV that it is instead of a soap opera! Everyone being even more over dramatic and in distress than we already are... can you imagine it??

Having been on a reality TV show for a brief time? I'm not a fan. Well... Bear With Me was a good one... but other than that...

One of the Big Brothers. It was well in the future, though, so not likely a version you've seen... thankfully.

Alright... I guess it's pretty impressive that Big Brother keeps going so far into the future! Why so thankful that I wouldn't have seen it, though?

As far as the viewers knew, anyone being ejected from the house was... well... disintegrated.

Disintegrated?? There's no way that could've been legal!!

It was well in the future, you'd be surprised what's legal, unfortunately. It's also why I stopped them.

Wow... I can't believe that anyone even let that happen in the first place... but I'm glad you stopped them! That's... pretty amazing, really~

It's part of what I do. Finding things that shouldn't be happening and stoping them.

That sounds really exciting! Is that, like, your job back home or something?

[He chuckles]It's not quite a job, no. It's just something I do.

Really? So then, what do you do to keep yourself? Like, to buy food and everything?

I um... don't... really. I've got food and whatnot in the TARDIS and I can always pull some jiggery pokery at a cash machine or borrow a few pounds or credits or whatever if I need to.
