Um... Cole is back. He's back and he doesn't remember me at all... I'm not really sure how I feel about this, yet. The last time he was here he didn't seem to remember how he'd felt about me. Maybe it's for the best, but it's still a weird feeling.

[Phoebe's decided to spend the day perusing the library. She's already found a copy of her book, as strange as that is, and has decided a romance novel might be just the thing to cure the strange feelings that have cropped up from Cole's reappearance. So she's curled up in a comfy chair with a copy of Dusk. She's a few chapters in and making a very confused face at the book]

They sparkle?! That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Do people actually like these books or is it supposed to be some sort of parody or something...

((ooc: I'm back. From outer space! Sorry about my little unannounced hiatus, there, but I'm back full force, now! And, yes, Phoebe is currently reading Twilight and disapproving mightily. Feel free to bother!!))

I will, of course, tell him nothing you have told me. [She figures she doesn't have to say it, but she will anyway.]

Are you in need of company?

Thank you, I appreciate that. [She didn't have to, but it's still nice to hear regardless]

I would never turn down your company. I'm in the library, right now. Or would you prefer somewhere else?

The library will be more than satisfactory. I will be but a moment.

[And when she gets there, she just wordlessly sits down next to Phoebe.]

[Phoebe closes the book when Galadriel arrives, smiling warmly at her]

Hello.

Greetings. You look well. [And it's said only after a long studious look. She's worried about you, Phoebe.]

[She looks a little tired, but her smile is genuine]

Thank you, as do you. Though I can't say that it's been an entirely relaxing few weeks, it could definitely be worse.

I can scarcely imagine how you must feel.

I... don't really know, myself. [She sighs, shrugging]

It hurts that he doesn't remember me. But at the same time it's almost a relief. I don't love him. If he remembered me he'd be trying to win me back and that would just hurt him.

That I understand well. To maintain a friendship with one who desires something more may be difficult for both parties. [Poor, poor Celebrimbor.]

[she nods] But... the last time he was here it was easier. He knew who I was, at least.

[She sighs, pulling her legs up and curling up in the chair] This place just isn't fair...

No, it is not. [A pause] If it brings you comfort, his loss speaks most highly of your importance to him. This place does not take that which is not precious; he would not have forgotten you of his own accord.

A little. I know that he thought he loved me, to the end. Though, in his time we were still together. We were still in love four years ago.

Such a difference in the times from which you were taken! [All the people here from her world have been within a month of her.]

[She nods] Piper's from around that time, too. It's tough, coming from everyone's future...

All those of my world have come from within a very short span of time. There as been, at most, a months difference and I was from his past rather than the reverse.

[a slight smile] I think I may say, however, that I have some understanding of the burden of such knowledge.

The gift of foresight does that to you. [She returns that smile]

That it does. It is interesting to think that many more here face that dilemma- to decide what must be shared and what is best left unsaid.

It's a tough burden to bear, sometimes. I always had the hardest time. I could never keep a secret. [she laughs] Though I've gotten a little better over the years.

[A chuckle] And I have been accused of the opposite. I am told I am too skilled in secrecy for the comfort of many.

I got better mostly because I had to. Keeping our magic a secret could mean the difference between life and death.

[She nods] I am the bearer of no few such secrets myself.

[She smiles softly] It really is nice to talk with someone else who understands all of this.

There are few outside of the White Council who would have such experiences in my own world.

The White Council? I don't think you've told me about them.

Have I not? I have made mention of members, at least, even if you did not know it. The White Council is a group of the wise I had formed to discuss and combat many of the dangers of our world. It has all but failed, yet still I hold most members in the highest regard. [The exception being Saruman. Who she didn't want to head it in the first place. This is why we always listen to Galadriel.]
