Hey, everybody. Uhh ... for those've you who know what it is? ... Happy Halloween.

[Mark's had a pretty tough day, upon finding out that two of his oldest friends have gone ... including one he considered pretty much the closest thing to a mentor that he'd admit. so to make up for his lack of ... him-ness, he's put together one hell of a playlist.

they'd at least want him to keep going in some fashion, even if he doesn't have it in him to chew everyone out properly and get loud and crude, after all]

Best scary stories? Costume malfunctions? Gimme whatever you've got. I'll be here... it ain't like I got anywhere else to be.

I wouldn't call it ... sheepifying. It's just something you have to do to not go crazy, whether you're here or not. Adapting to the situation isn't ... magic, or being controlled -- it's how people work.

And trust me, it's ... better than the alternative. [lol, sasuke :(]

So of course, I gotta ask for details, now. There's a story there.

There's a guy I know, from my world. He used to be in my class, when we were kids. We were the best in the class, actually -- he was the top boy, and I was the top girl. When we were kids, his older brother ... well, nobody knew what happened at the time. His older brother was this huge prodigy, he was one of the highest ranks in the village at thirteen -- but he just kind of snapped, and killed everyone in their family except for him.

He was always kind of a loner, but on Sakura's team ... well, he made friends with them after everything, at least. But then he started getting involved with really bad things, in order to get revenge on his brother, and he left the village -- an act of treason -- and now he's ... well. We've been trying to get him to come back to Konoha for a long time, but I think he's finally lost it.

[pauses ...] But I've seen him get better, here. With time, and support from other people.

[he listens to it all attentively and patiently, as he usually tends to do when Ino's filling him in on stuff, then sighs]

Damn. So ... you're saying the alternative is not dealing with it and snapping and going batshit insane, right? I just ... wanna make sure we're on the same page.

[a little pause, where she taps her fingernails on the page] I've tried, so many times, to cut things off with everyone here. To make things easier. But people don't work like that.

Nah ... people don't really do so hot without other people, do they? I don't wanna boil it down to "maybe we're all attention whores", there's more to it than that, but.... damned if I know what it is.

I just know doin' my thing back home proved at least one thing, fer me. No matter what kinda shit someone's goin' through, they wanna know they're not alone.
