I've heard many a story since my arrival here, or regression as it was phrased. To simply learn that my future leads to here is astounding, even if in either case I am captive.

I was informed also that many here knew me? I admit to being curious, not of my future [ She's not sure if she wants to know that ] but of yourselves. I have heard of much that before I could not think possible [ And that's big to her ] and would rather like to hear more, if any of you would be so inclined.

Regardless of information I'd like to introduce myself; I am Doctor Helen Magnus. It will be a pleasure to learn what I can from you.

[ Later that day, after managing to sneak away from the protective eyes of James and Nikola Helen can be found wandering the castle. Castle's aren't new, she's seen them before but this one makes her curious - it's a different time and apparently a different world - she'd like to see all that she can. I remember seeing you on our arrival. I apologise for not greeting you then, the situation was rather surprising.

Yeah, well, thinking you've just arrived in a creepy magical castle does that to people.

I've come to know you and James through Nikola.

That's alright, I find technology hard to accept, so we're even.

You've come and gone a few times, James has been here for a couple of months, and Nikola about a year.

Vastly. I come from a planet called the Discworld. A disc-shaped world, balanced on the back of four Elephants who are in turn balanced on the back of a giant Turtle.

Um. I know you had some...issue with some illness lately, but as far as I'm aware that's been treated.

[ It's a few minutes before she writes back as she's not quite sure if she read that right, or even what to say on it ]

They're able to survive in such a way?

An illness? Do you happen to know what of?

I don't, I'm afraid. It was all a bit over complicated for me.

They just exist. I mean, they're not regular elephants and A'Tuin is a Star Turtle. They're special.

Probably. Time's a pretty delicate thing.

It just is. My world runs on magic, it doesn't have to make sense.

Eh, possibly. You never really know what can set things off.

I may not believe in the existence of magic but I do believe in sense and everything that is had some basis of sense. If you can explain it as magic then there is more attached with that.

Then we had best be careful about what may be said, if my existence here isn't to be changed.

There really isn't. I mean, there are all kind of possible worlds, not all of them would work on logic.

And you're saying that your world works without any semblance of logic? I find that rather more hard to believe.

Who needs logic when you have magic?

I find that harder to believe than magic itself.

Oh, that's a bit easier. I come from a country called Borogravia. Horrible little place, really. Always starting wars.
