I've been inventing since I was five, though my work here has been mainly engineering.

I believe I'm seventeen. Sixteen when I arrived.

And you haven't been to school in years, that's rather unusual.

My parents died. We were shipped off a lot. Though it isn't wholly unusual in the 1930s. I was fortunate to extend my studies since I was from a well off family.
