[guess who's in the kitchen? This little one! There's a plate with a piece of toast on it over on the counter, half eaten... looks like something interrupted her in the middle of breakfast. Said girl in question is currently over next to an empty patch of wall, and she's holding a random box of cereal that she found, and she's using it as a measuring stick of some kind, to mark how tall she is against the wall.

When she's finally satisfied that she's holding it straight, she ducks down and slowly turns around (while being careful not to move the cereal box). There's a moment as she looks at the box, before chewing her lip and sighing. She looks a bit... disappointed? Admitting defeat she puts down the cereal box and heads back to her toast. After a moment she opens the journal]

Um... even if you have birthdays here and get older, you don't get to grow any more, do you?

Measuring yourself for any particular reason?

I wanted to see if I was taller.

[he puts a hand on her head affectionately]

Just a bit disappointed?

[BECAUSE HE'S AWESOME LIKE THAT. now he kneels in front of her and lifts her chin up.]

Just because you don't look older, or grow any taller while here, doesn't mean that we don't consider you a maturing young woman. Don't let height weigh down on you so much, all right?

[good! he gives her a light bop on the nose with his finger before standing up straight.]

I have been good, simply enjoying the weather. Have you discovered anything new recently?

Oh, and I've been enjoying the weather too! Although it's kind of hard to walk to town now...

Because of the leaves.

[she nods] But I'm getting better at pushing them out of the way!

How often do you go to town?

Not a lot... but sometimes when I have to go shopping.

You should invite a friend to go along. Two people moving the leaves is better than one.

But I don't think taller people have trouble walking through them...

Said taller friend could walk in front of you, or they could carry you.

Mm... but I don't want to bother them.

Or, a bike may work......

Wouldn't that get stuck in the leaves too?
