Hey, can I ask somethin'?

[There's a small child speaking into the journal, sounding thoughtful.]

What's yer Heaven like?

I mean, I heard someone talkin' about clouds an' angels an' paradise an' one god even though all the people in Heaven are supposed t'be gods. Konzen, Ten-chan an' Ken-nii are gods an' they don't know everythin'.

Are there different Heavens an' different kind o'gods?

[he leads the way up to the theater and cracks open the door, holding it so Goku can go in before him - letting him get the first glimpse of the rows and rows of seats, the screen, the whole enchilada]

Ta-daaaa, welcome to the movies, kid. Go on, pick whatever seat you want, we've got the whole place to ourselves.

[Eyes wide, Goku steps in and looks around. Mouth wide open, he seems awe-struck.]

Whoaa... it's so cool.

[Brightening up in a grin, he hurries off to test different seats.]

[Mark hangs back, letting Goku run around and bounce on the seats. it might not take him long to realize they're all the same, but even so, he'll let him pick where they sit. as the little dude is marveling at modern cinema, he'll call out a cautionary note:]

Just don't sit in the front row, it makes your neck hurt after a while!

[Hopping across seats like the little monkey he is, Goku finally settles in a middle row.]

Here is good, right?

[It's good that they're alone, otherwise the small boy might have needed a booster seat.]

Here's perfect! I always sit in the middle, right on the side so I can stretch my legs out.

[and once they're sitting down, the movie fires up. Princess Bride was his first pick ... and for some reason the castle throws in a few old trailers for Disney movies, too]

[Goku stretches his legs out, but he can't even reach the next row of seats.

Watching the trailers, Goku has a bit of a trouble following the the 'story' until he realizes they didn't have anything to do with the movie. His eyes are huge, though, impressed by the moving things on the screen]

Whoaaa... the drawings move!

Yeah, that's a different kinda movie - they're called cartoons. [he grins] These little things are "trailers" - they're like little teaser bits of other movies, to get people interested in seein' em.

[He grins happily, amazed by the trailers.]

I wanna see them, too!

[Mark can't help but smile] …Me too. I haven't even seen this one, with the magic lamp. It looks really good.

Yeah, it's all flashy an' blue.

[He sits back a bit when the actual movie starts, and is soon completely sucked in to the story.]

[he thought this'd be a good one, because it shows bits of what life back home was like for him, but then it switches to something that might be a little more familiar for Goku... also, it's funny as heck]

...so I had to go watch this movie to gauge his reaction, lol =P

[The Western medieval surroundings are as exotic to him as the modern world!

The eels freak him out a bit and he's jumping in the seat at every fight, but all in all, he has about the same reactions as the Grandchild. Including the kisses.]

[Mark laughs in all the right places, and helps explain anything he doesn't understand as quickly and easily as possible, but really, he's having just as good a time as Goku. there's something about watching someone experience something you love for the first time]

Glad y'liked it! You wanna watch another one? [he does, after all, have The Neverending Story queued up in case he does. we'll say the credits are still rolling at the moment]
