[So… once Charlie realized what was happening, really let it sink in that his head was being suddenly made public, he started camping out in the hallways. Propped up just beside his door, for the most part motionless except every now and then when he’s had to warn the more curious folks away. But a few days of this whole… not sleeping to keep an eye on his door thing has finally taken its toll and he’s… napping. Lightly, mind you, but for the moment he isn’t paying attention at all]
[And should you take advantage of this, the door opens on a hotel lobby. One of those ridiculously posh ones with the gilded everything and the deep, red carpets and wood floors. There’s a single door off to one side, and at the front desk is… Charlie actually, arms folded in front of him, wearing an odd hollow smile as he watches you. There’s something… false in the sound of his voice, like it isn’t really him speaking: ]
Evening.

Evening.
GOOD NIGHT SWEET PRINCESS ;A: sleep well :)
Charlie, your brain is weird!
[ a few deep breaths. ]
Okay. Just... one more room, and then I'm out of here.
[ she takes another minute to catch her breath a bit, and then pushes the wooden door open... !! ]
lskjdlfkjlskdjflk /crawls... back in... here...
[That's what's behind the door. Or at least... the kitchen of that scene (because it must always take place in a kitchen), and while it does seem to be missing a father figure of some sort, the mother is happily bustling around. Making breakfast, presumably for the little redheaded boy at the table who's busy watching her and smiling]
[It's all terribly sweet (or maybe bittersweet, I suppose, if you're an orphan). Neither of them seem to notice Nudge at all, though after a moment, the mother figure sets another place at the table]
[Come in come in 8>]
jshfkjsdh HELLO *A*
oh.................
nudge stands at the door going :|a :|a :|a :|a forever. unless she's mistaken, that's tiny!charlie, and that's his mom, and oh my gosh, it really is bittersweet because she only ever sees this sort of thing on tv. and she's only ever experienced it (sorta) with anne. who backstabbed her a few months later whyyy.
should she walk in? should she just walk back out and hope charlie never notices she was here? should she make an even stupider choice? she kicks her foot about while she deliberates, and accidentally kicks the door shut with a slam behind her. w h o o p s . . . ]
oh my lawd I swear I'll consistently tag someday..........
[And then the mother turns and smiles at her, everything in her posture saying that she is welcome and that, if she wants to stay, she should go sit at the table. ('8 The boy, for the most part, seems to be consumed with fussing with his silverware while he waits and isn't... lsjdf paying much attention]
shhhh no words only welcome back hugs now *^*
Um... I actually didn't mean to intrude. Well, I meant to open the door, but I didn't know this was what I'd find on the other side and all.
[ meep. ]
oh goodness ;A; /throws self at
[Then he's scrambling out of his seat, dropping down under the table and working his way around the chair legs to get over to Nudge. HE'S VERY EXCITED TO SEE HER!!!]
Are you going to stay?
c: c: (cozy)
Well... I guess it wouldn't hurt to stay for a little bit? If your mom doesn't mind? And you don't mind?
[ questioning look. ]
uwaaa /wraps in a blanket
[...we were expecting you... is the unsaid thing there... lkjsdlfj Tugs on her sleeve a little. Come oooonnnnn]
ueeeeeeeeeeen *-*
fff oh well. she smiles and comes along, gamely. she plops herself down in a chair before remembering her manners. ]
Oh. Um, thank you for having me, Mrs. Charlie.

[Charlie leans over, once she's gone back to work, whispering like this the Best Secret Ever]
She's making pancakes today.
no subject
Is she a good cook? I bet she's a good cook.
no subject
[Not that... he has very many points of reference... being a mental construct and all]
no subject
nudge glances at mrs. charlie, and leans closer. ]
Is anyone else gonna join us?
no subject
No... I don't think so...! Usually it's just mama and I. [Little smile. He's terribly glad she's here because of that ('8]
no subject
Who knows, you might get more visitors, soon!
[ since it's kind of a free for all in the castle rn ]
no subject
I think I'd know if anyone else is coming, though...
no subject
...How come? [ she blinks rapidly, as if she just heard herself ask that question. ] Wait, no, never mind... I guess you would.
no subject
[AND AT LONG LAST, the mother brings pancakes and eggs and other... breakfast things... over to them]
no subject
Thanks again for having me Mrs. Charlie! I promise I'll get out of your hair soon enough. Weird expression, isn't it? Get out of your hair... am I comparing myself to headli--
[ she shuts up before she rambles any more. she wonders briefly if the food is real, but she's gonna try to eat it anyway, because she's nudge and she's always hungry. ]
no subject
[THE FOOD... TASTES LIKE HOW CHARLIE TASTES IT... so probably different from how Nudge does lksdlfjkl]
no subject
once it tastes good, it is going into her stomach, as she looks around interestedly. ]
no subject
[Other then that it's just a... really warmly lit, friendly little room, apparently blocked off from everything else in his head]
[After a second, Charlie leans over again]
It's good, right?
no subject
nudge takes a second to swallow before answering. ]
It really is! I love home-cooked meals, I can't remember the last time I had one.
no subject
[But he looks... quite concerned about this! D8]
You don't live with your parents?
no subject
Oh, it's just that we travel a lot, you know? Always on the move; it's hard to find time for great meals like this.
