[There's some fumbling, and then the journal opens to reveal the voice of a very young boy, trying to sound brave but failing.]

Um... can anyone hear me?

My name's Goku. I fell down and now I can’t find Konzen anywhere. People were tryin' t'catch us and I'm real worried. He’s real tall and gots hair like the sun. He jumped down after me when I fell, an'I don’t want him t'get hurt.

Ken-nii-san and Ten-chan should still be on the stairs, but I can't find those either! Just this thing that I heard sounds from.

I ain't scared or anythin'... but they promised t'stay with me. Really, really promised. If yer a nice person that ain't gonna kill us, can y'help me find them?

Please?



[People around the castle might find a small boy hiding behind the nearest couch, wearing a way too big button-shirt and chains around his wrists and ankles.]

[And a few moments later the elevator dings and Nora walks into the lobby, looking around]

[Goku peeks out from behind the couch as he hears the ding, giving Nora a suspicious look.]

[She sees Goku peeking out from behind the couch and gives him a little wave]

Hey, there.

[He rubs his face free from tears, trying to look like he hadn't been crying. Watching the woman, he was still a bit worried... but there hadn't been any girls out there trying to hurt them yet.]

[She smiles and walks over, slowly]

Goku, right? I'm Nora.

...yeah. Um...

[He looks a little like a cornered animal, but finally decides to come closer.]

It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. I come in peace.

[He hardly reaches up to her hip when he gets closer, and can't be more than six.]

Y'promise?

[He's so teeny! She crouches down so she's eye level with him]

I promise. Cross my heart, even.

...okay. I'll trust ya.

[He sticks out his pinkie, expecting the real deal.]

[She grins and clasps his pinkie with her own]

Alright. What have you heard about this place so far?

[He holds it tightly for a moment.]

Um... that time stops at home an' I can't leave?

It's a start. C'mon. You hungry? I can get you something to eat while I tell you about the place.

[She stands up and holds out a hand for him]

[He nods and reaches up to take her hand.]

I am kinda hungry...

[She leads him out of the lobby]

I'll make you something. Nothing too fancy, since I can't really cook, but it's better than nothing, right? The kitchen's this way. This place isn't so bad once you get to know it a little bit.

[He follows along, holding her hand tightly.]

I'll eat anythin'...

[He doesn't believe her about the castle being not so bad, though. It had taken Konzen away.]

[She brings him into the kitchen and motions for him to sit at the table. She moves around the kitchen, pulling out the things to make grilled cheese]

Alright. This place is kinda like an alternate dimension. We're taken here from all different universes. No one knows why or how. [she starts up the stove] Time kinda freezes when you were taken so when this place sends you home you go back to the exact same time you left and no one knows you were gone. Um... if you wish for something there are ghosts that bring it to you. [pause] What else...

[He climbs up on the chair and sits down, kicking his legs a little bit while watching her.]

Whooaaa... are y'sure ya ain't lyin'?

[She glances over at him as she puts the sandwich together and plops it on a pan]

Of course! I pinkie swore, didn't I? I wouldn't lie to you.

I know, I know! It just sounds real amazin'!

[He curiously watches as she prepares the food.]

Whatcha doin' with the bread?

I guess it's pretty cool, sometimes. You just have to be careful, okay? The castle likes to mess with people around here.

[She grins over her shoulder as she grabs a spatula. She watches the sandwich, turning it over when it looks juuuust right] I'm making you one of the best sandwiches ever.

I'll be real careful. Ken-nii taught me t'kick people if they're mean.

[He watches her with huge, golden eyes. So odd, making a sandwich like that!]

It smells good!

[laughs] That's a good plan.

It'll taste even better. [And in another minute she slides the sandwich onto a plate, cutting it in half before bringing it over and setting it in front of Goku] Careful, it's hot.
