One Meatbun -dictated-

[There's some fumbling, and then the journal opens to reveal the voice of a very young boy, trying to sound brave but failing.]

Um... can anyone hear me?

My name's Goku. I fell down and now I can’t find Konzen anywhere. People were tryin' t'catch us and I'm real worried. He’s real tall and gots hair like the sun. He jumped down after me when I fell, an'I don’t want him t'get hurt.

Ken-nii-san and Ten-chan should still be on the stairs, but I can't find those either! Just this thing that I heard sounds from.

I ain't scared or anythin'... but they promised t'stay with me. Really, really promised. If yer a nice person that ain't gonna kill us, can y'help me find them?

Please?

[People around the castle might find a small boy hiding behind the nearest couch, wearing a way too big button-shirt and chains around his wrists and ankles.]

Well, we're not exactly on Earth. Or whatever planet you're from.

[sigh] But you can thank the sadistic magic castle for kidnapping you.

[Wat.]

Y'mean I'm kidnapped? But Konzen...

Yup. And nobody has figured out how to get out on their own terms.

...that ain't fair! I'm gonna kick their butts!

Trouble is, we don't know who 'they' are.

The we just gotta find out, right?

Easier said than done. The townspeople are useless and everybody else are in the same situation as we are.

Then we just gotta try harder!

I guess. [sigh. Fountain of eternal optimism, aren't you?]

[Yup. He's the poster boy for that.]

M' Goku! What's yer name?

[Smile.]

M' lookin' for Konzen, an' Ken-nii, an' Ten-chan...

[she frowns, thinking for a few moments]

They don't sound familiar. Sorry.

....yer sure? Real sure?

[nods towards the stairs]

If you go up those stairs, you'll find the rooms. Everybody has their names on the doors, so people use that to check if somebody is here or not.

[He brightens up at that, since she's given him some hope.]

While you're at it, you might as well look for your room.

Yeah. Everybody gets one.

I've never had my own before.

It probably keeps us from fighting each other even more than we already do.

People fight a lot here?

When you have a bunch of cranky people trapped in a place with nothing better to do, things happen.

If not, the castle likes to throw problems at us.

...that sounds stupid.

The whole thing seems pretty pointless.
