[If you're wandering around the castle you may stumble upon Apollo lounging on one of the couches, absently flipping through the pages of his journal. If you pause to watch him for a minute you may see him start to tear blank pages out from the back of the journal and start folding the pages into different shapes.

He's focused and quick and after a few minutes he has about a dozen awkwardly folded cranes scattered around him on the couch and the floor. If you're close enough you might even hear him mutter something like 'what kind of magical castle doesn't have TV?']

I hear you. This is why I try to steer clear of reality TV. Not that I can't appreciate watching real people making idiots of themselves but I find it better played out when it's written by studio writers.

With the exception of talk shows. They're my guilty pleasure.

Don't tell me you're a Springer fan? Yeah, I could see you sitting in the audience yelling, "Jerry, Jerry."

And it's better acted. The people on realities shows seem to either be completely unable to emote or they play it up and over act. It's like a train wreck.

Hey, don't knock it. People watch TV to immerse themselves in the lives of people with more problems then them. And the people on Springer definitely fit the bill.

Yes, the trailer park folk who sleep with each other's parents and first cousin. I want to immerse myself in that daily.

[He shrugs.]

Sometimes it's good distraction from reality.

Point taken. Why else would I watch scripted television. It takes us out of our own problems. But, then again so does C-Span.

Shouldn't C-Span have the opposite effect?

I like C-Span. But, I understand what's going on.
