[Fenris has been wandering the grounds of the castle today, much like a tiger would pace the boundaries of its cage. Testing the extent of his loss, how far he could go, how long he could be away before the castle inevitably dragged him back into that accursed lobby. At least out here, he could enjoy a scant hour or so of peace and quiet before the horrible, tugging and NEW need to talk to others started niggling at him.
It was on this walk that he's come upon the cemetery. He wanders through it, unable to properly read all the words upon the stones, but recognising it for what it is regardless. Humans may not bury their dead in Thedas, but elves most certainly do. He crouches down by one to feel the earth, before opening his journal, grimacing a little to even have to speak into it. He'd never get used to that]
I have been told that death here is not permanent. In two weeks, the dead return as if nothing had happened at all. If that is so, why is there a graveyard here? That suggests people remain dead, does it not?
...Unless you are prone to burying people alive. Which I would not put past some of you.

I suppose it does. Small mercies in a place such as this should be cherished.

Yes. Any moments of happiness or positivity are ones we should cherish and hold close. We're kind of the people who take then away from ourselves. I'd like to work on giving those back!
SO tell me, what's one pleasant thing that's happened for you lately?

[Fenris struggles to find something pleasant that's happened to him in the space of a YEAR. Thinking, thinking...]
I recently gained my freedom. Of course, it was only to be brought here, but I suppose it is something.
no subject
The freedom's still yours. We're held in this world, sure, but we were all born into another one. In a way we were born here, too, and most don't except they're going to change worlds during their lifetime. It's a scene change no one planned for, and it can be good!
What do you want to do now that you're here? And haven't gone away quite yet.
no subject
...That is true.
[A thoughtful sound] I am...not sure. I have wished for freedom for so long, I do not know what to do with it now I have something like it. What do free people do?
no subject
And if you want you can walk away at any time. You can say "I'm done with this!" or choose not to give up. Make friends or, I guess, make enemies. Go get drunk if you like the lack of control and disconnected feeling alcohol tends to give most people. Gamble, or dance, or laugh at people who're doing either of those. Go tracking in the forest, pick up hunting, weave baskets, weave blankets, if I have no idea how to do either of those personally, spar, visit the hot springs, build a -- treehouse?
Treehouses are an Earth thing, but the idea's kind of fun, for kids. Maybe build one for other people. Anyway, that's the thing. Free people dream, and do, and fail, and succeed. Were there other dreams, beyond freedom? Or was the idea so big it was the dream in its whole?

...A house in a tree? [That sounds very Dalish :/] That is a...possibility.
No, I had never been given the inclination nor the choice to dream before.

[ SHE CAN DREAM. Sakura dreams... both large and small. It occurs to her that dreaming might be a bit of a luxury. 8( ]
Yes! I'm sure there has to be some kind of book that shows you what they look like. There's books for all kinds of buildings in the library. Seeing examples might be inspirational? Or else you use your own creativity, invent what you see in your mind's eye.
Hmm, think you'll start? Choosing to dream. Or be at all inclined toward it?

[It is when you belong to a dick like Danrius, anyway]
Ah. Reading is still a...problem for me.
I see no harm in trying.

[ A pen tap on the journal leaves a random dot of ink. Hello dot! ]
What about illustrations? I was thinking more along those lines, though I don't know if architectural drawings will make all that much sense to you. Have you worked with or looked at blueprints before?
That's the spirit!
no subject
[A chuckle] No. My master had his own architects, I was not required to do such things. I could always look, though. See if they make sense to me.

[ HAPPILY ENOUGH TO HAVE A DISNEY PRINCESS MOMENT except she can't sing and Scooter's probably snoring somewhere nearby considering she's been writing a lot soooooo nothing actually happens outside of smiling and thinking one for the cause! despite having no real concrete idea what this cause was.
The people to talk with without writing (or being psychic) cause? ]
I can look into finding a few books like that for you, pull them out and set them aside. Then it'd be a matter of looking through when you felt like it.
no subject
[It certainly is a good cause indeed. And hey, moments of silence are cool in Fenris' book]
Thank you. It is rare I have come across such kindness in my life. If there is any way I can repay you, you need only ask.
