57 academics just punched the air.
[For the past few days, Jilly had been more than a little...
odd.
She hadn't shown up for her art class. Her sketchbook languished beside her bed, untouched. And when she showed up at work at the coffee shop she was wearing a ridiculous amount of makeup.
Other than a few trips to the music room (and a few surprisingly good vocal warmup sessions), she hadn't done anything too strange.
That is, until now.
She's wearing red tights and a headdress that's almost as big as the rest of her. Expression serious, she strides to the landing and the top of the stairs leading into the lobby, and strikes a dramatic pose.
And then she begins to sing]
♫ I-I'm going to find a happy-
I-I'm going to find a happy-
I-I'm going to find a happy place. ♫
[OOC: Open over the journals or to anyone in the lobby. People watching can simply gawk or, if the castle is feeling particularly cruel, might feel compelled to join in as backup dancers. For an idea of what they might be doing, check out 1:05 and 1:58 in the video.]

...Fuck it. This is too good to pass up. She grabs her cell phone takes a picture.]

Natsuki! I haven't seen you in ages. I'm glad you're okay.
[what with vampire attack and all]

I can take care of myself. [can't help but glance at the headdress] How are you?

Good.
I've been getting practice in when I can. [a small frown as she reaches up to touch her throat] The last few days it's felt like I haven't warmed up in ages. But I'm feeling more like myself, now.

Practicing for what?

A recital maybe. Or maybe Lorne could use another performer at Caritas. I feel like I should do something, though.

[really can't help staring at that headdress]

It just seems right to do something.

[you know, like her art class that she's forgotten]

I never thought you were the singing type.

You don't talk about home much.

[that would all be true, if she was talking about her art]

The only person I know who sings is [an annoyingly precocious tyke] in the church choir.

Or...did you mean back home?

The school was kind of Catholic.
