Those words are from the Bible, milady, our holy scripture. We are encouraged to leave peacefully, but peace is very rare.

I have been taught to fight, which is uncommon among women in my land. I was an only child and always fond of playing like a boy. I was also an unmarried heiress and being able to fight meant that I could fend off men who wanted to kidnap me for marriage. I've learnt combat, sword fight, archery and fight with staff, and I'm training daily. These skills proved useful back home, though rarely in the way my father had hoped.

That is unfortunately true in many lands.

I see. It is much the same in my world; the situation should be dire indeed before elven women would march into battle. Yet I myself have some skill with sword and bow, though it has been long- many lifetimes of men- since I have had to put them to use. My aid comes in a different form.

[Despite the fact that Marian herself has taken to arms and surprised her surrounding, the idea of Galadriel, being the image of peace, taking to arms is almost upsetting. If it had come to that, matters must have been dire indeed.]

No? So despite your peacefulness, you've been forced to take arms and find other ways to aid justice?

[Marian herself was under castle arrest for a year, a time she used for spying and manipulation. There are memories from that time that still makes her feel uncomfortable, but she has been given the chance to put those things right here in Paradisa, something she is very happy about.]

Peace may only last so long as it is desired by all parties.

So how can we persuade all parties that it's peace that will gain each and everyone the most?

It's really a good thing that Paradisa allows her to put it right... even if she'll probably end up spying and manipulating again, but hopefully with a more mature outlook.]

You are probably right. As long as out world stands, the fight goes on. Patience then, along with being vigilant and united.

[And FEAR - sorry, Monty Python trying to break in. Man, being psychic is SO much better in spying. Making up your mind between two men is also a lot better, plus having a more moderate admiration of Richard the Lionheart. She'd better swing that sword and leave the spying to Galadriel. ;-) ]
