[ Today, Emil is sitting in the lobby, back to his normal self and looking pretty happy about it. He also seems to be attempting to play paddleball, which is probably not all that easy when you can't see what you're doing. Anyone walking close by better be careful. The journal beside him also picks up the sound of him playing. ]
I'm really glad that's over. I like it here, but it's a lot easier when I look like myself. But I hope I didn't scare anyone too much...
[ A short pause, like he's trying to remember something. ]
Oh, that's right! I was going to ask earlier, but I kept forgetting. The castle only celebrates some holidays here, but I don't know about that many of them from other places or anything like that. And I never really celebrated any before I got here...so if anyone has the time, could you tell me about the ones you like best?

This is my dog Wheely, she's very sweet. Would you like to pet her?
[Marian is prepared to take his hand if he needs directions, but she notices that his head turns directly toward any sounds, so he seems to have a fantastic grasp of his surroundings.]

[ He reaches out, a bit slowly and carefully, to pet the dog; he's gotten very good at listening to find things, but he still does have to be more careful than most others. ]
no subject
Ah, now you make her a very happy dog.

[ Petting his new buddy now. It's nice to have animals that aren't feral to interact with. ]
no subject
She sure likes you, Emil!
no subject
[ Aww. He keeps on petting Wheely, since he'll probably do that as long as she lets him. ]
no subject
Oops! I hope you don't mind, she's really affectionate to nice people.
no subject
No, it's okay!
no subject
That's good. She can be a bit persistant. Do you have any pets, Emil?

She draws a breath.]
Good! I'm glad you like it! I have a ball here. If you throw it - lightly - she'll fetch it. A different kind of your funny back-and-forth ball.
no subject
Okay! I'll be careful not to hit anyone with it.
no subject
Ah... The ball might be a bit soggy now. Sorry about that!
no subject
[ He takes it, tosses it again. ]
Do all dogs play like this?
no subject
[Watching this playful interaction makes her happy. Emil throws carefully and Wheely looks like she's dancing with joy when she runs to fetch it.]
no subject
[ He's definitely having fun here, too. ]
no subject
[Wheely jumps up with the ball, stands next to Emil and her tail is wagging happily, Emil should feel it.]
no subject
[ Indeed he does! So he'll let her do that while petting her. ]
no subject
[Marian contents herself with watching them cuddle.]
I'm going to order some tea. Do you want something, Emil?
no subject
[ After all...dog buddy! ]
