Parasitic-types are born with it. Equipment-types just come whenever the time is right. Regardless, no one can choose to be an Exorcist voluntarily — the Innocence chooses its users.

I see. This makes sense. On Azeroth, the Light chooses its wielders in much the same way. Even some who are devout cannot use it as a weapon as Paladins do.
