[ A journal lay open near where he once laid. He bent down, picking it up, and watched as the words he had spoken appeared on the page. ] Flobberworm. Squid. Snivellus. [ James shrugged, deciding that this journal was just another trick of Sirius'. He spun on the spot, closing his eyes, thinking of home - Godric's Hollow, Lily's warm smile, the snow - and when he opened his eyes, he found himself looking at the same walls he'd just seen. Is this place a popular hang out for all of us to pop into? Or am I dead? [ Pleasedon'tbedead pleasedon'tbedead ]
dictated
...but I don't think you're dead. I mean, you're talking, right?
dictated
[ Looks down at himself. ] I'm not transparent. That's a good sign. And my feet are on the ground.
... There's not a history book I can simply scan through for the answers available somewhere in this place?

I can flick back in this journal? [ He looks at it sideways, as though looking at the pages will feed him the history. ]
dictated
That's right. There's a lot to read, though.
dictated
People can meet face to face, right? This isn't a world where we can't be in the same room as one another, is it? [ And if James is frightened by that notion, he will hide his face behind his book. ]

My name's Emil.

It's offficial. One of these days, I'll be in a corridor, and you'll be in a corridor, and I'll shout it to the heavens. And then we can probably go out for a pint or something afterwards. Is there a pub around here?
dictated
And...I think there's a place like that here. I only went in there once, though.

I don't really know...I guess, kind of.
dictated
Is there a joke shop here, by any chance?
dictated
I don't really know. Are you going to make one?
dictated
If there isn't one, I might as well have to. You can't live in a world without a joke shop. It's just plain boring!
dictated
I never heard of one before, though.
dictated
What do you like to do in your spare time 'round here?
