thirty-eight shots
[forward-dated to early afternoon]
[Leverage Tower ⇒ Parker's room filter]
[It has been — wow, did a month almost pass after the craziness of April Fools? Jesus Christ, time seems to be flying by. But why would time matter if one was trying to sort out personal issues?
Such as possibly liking your best friend. That is a very important personal issue to figure out.
Hopefully said best friend is willing to talk!?
Also, the abundance of Easter eggs is ridiculous. Cross kicks a few lightly as he heads to Parker's door, picking up one every so often see its contents. Confetti? Hm, maybe that will lighten the mood.
Within seconds he is at Parker's door and, after a moment's pause, knocking on it.]

Oh.
Hey, Cross.
She sort of looks at him a little surprised before she finishes chewing what's in her mouth and opening the door wide enough for him to come in. After a moment of chewing, she feels she can get a few words out.]
Come on it.

Mm, delicious, awkward silence. Just what he expects, to be honest.]
You are free to kick me for the surprise visit. [Does joking help? Hopefully.]

Why would I kick you? I always barge in on you, don't I? And I mean, I'm actually glad to see you. I was going to visit you anyway and now I don't have to. So it all works out, really. Totally not a reason to kick you or anything. You're doing me a favor.
[SO MANY WORDS. Which tends to happen when she's feeling a bit nervous.]

He picks up another one and opens it to find chocolate this time.]
How's the chocolate?

[She uses a foot to kick a rolling desk chair toward him as she straddles the back of another.
It might be a good time to point out that her room is pretty void of anything save for the absolute necessities.
There's a bed with some cozy bedding, a stuffed bunny front and center. Her clothes all seem to hang haphazardly on a metal rack, all rather dark tones save for a bright blue dress sticking out like a sore thumb. There's a desk with lots of maps and blueprints, writings and... math equations? And a safe or two.
Doesn't every girl keep this kind of stuff in their room?]
What's up?

[He takes the chair with a nod of thanks, crossing his legs almost automatically as soon as he sits down in it.
Huh, for someone who moved several weeks ago, it looks like she was still in the process of unpacking, save for the important items which were out already.
The safe(s), maps and blueprints all catch his attention, before he focuses on her again.]
You've been quiet lately.
