What's your first memory of the Joker?

[When an enemy happens to be the best source of information one might have, life sucks. But she's been wondering about this for a while now and every other question she came up with was too revealing. Here's to hoping he helps.

While she waits, she'll just take a trip up to the roof. Four Quinbits chatter happily as they follow her. The fifth is clutched tightly to her chest and, while it complains once, it doesn't try to escape her grip.]

And thus began the epic tale of Batman and the Joker?

I'd call it tragic more than epic, but yes.

Why?

He hurt a lot of people. Killed a lot of people. I know some of the things he's going to do once time restarts back home and none of it is good.

What's he going to do?

[DOES IT HAVE ANYTHING DO WITH HER?!]

[ NOT THAT HE KNOWS OF. He got the condensed version of the story. And there's a small pause before he answers because, well. He's fairly certain he knows why Harley's asking and without Joker and Ivy, she's... relatively harmless? But there's no pulling punches here. ]

He's going to torture my son.

You have a son? Wait. The Robins...They're your kids? Seriously? I wondered, we all did, but...really? What do you do, keep 'em in a closet until the current one doesn't fit in the green pants anymore?

[And after a short pause.]

Oh and that's terrible! Do I know the kid?

[ a little angrily: ] I don't mistreat them, Harley.

More than likely, yes, you've met your world's version of him.

Fine, you keep 'em in a five-star closet with all the amenities.

[Sobering.] For what it's worth, I'm sorry about your son.

[ ... sigh ] It's worth something.

This is so weird.

Pfft. Nooo. If he was my loss, why would I be asking you about him? I could just talk to Harvey. Or even Two-Face after you butter him up with two jokes. I just...wanted to know about you. Yeah, 'cause you're not my Batman so things are different and I just happened to pick that subject because I thought it a common stepping point and oh my God will you stop interrogating me as if I'm a criminal?!

[ And suddenly, more of the Bat-voice. ] Do you know where Harvey is?

Heh. Did I say something I wasn't supposed to? I, uh, I saw him after the accident in the kitchen. We were both getting some food when the microwave just blew up. Can you believe this place? Not even kitchen appliances are safe to use.
