What's your first memory of the Joker?

[When an enemy happens to be the best source of information one might have, life sucks. But she's been wondering about this for a while now and every other question she came up with was too revealing. Here's to hoping he helps.

While she waits, she'll just take a trip up to the roof. Four Quinbits chatter happily as they follow her. The fifth is clutched tightly to her chest and, while it complains once, it doesn't try to escape her grip.

[OOC: Open to anyone else who might meet her in the halls or likes visiting the roof.]

That's dangerous shit, you know. You smell like a human, so I'd suggest you be more careful.

Well, you don't all have the exact same scent, but there's some commonality at the base. Minute body chemistry differences can make a world of difference.

I kinda' smell just about everything around me. I'm a werewolf, it's not like I have much choice. The scents just kinda' drift in. I can smell what's cooking from the open window several floors down, through an open window. As a matter of fact, their turkey is about to burn.

[Her slight tension is fairly obvious to him, but he's used to it by now. Thankfully, he stopped before expounding on just how creepily acute his senses truly were. Humans tended to get dicey when hearing someone could hear their heartbeat if they concentrated.]

I can change if I really wanna', but only within a few days of full moon. Silver and all that other shit is just a myth. As useless as normal bullets. Thankfully, I'm not the bad type of werewolf, and when I change, I'm still me. It's not like it is in the movies.

Hereditary, only. Mom was the real deal, pureblood. My old man was as human as you are.

I don't think there are any more left.

Hard to say. Trackin' your history ain't easy, when you're not supposed to exist. Near as I can put together, humans just expanded. Rather than get into conflict, my people chose to simply retreat more, as they did. Eventually they just ran out of places to go. Likely got scattered.

[identity profile] worldweary-wolf.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Natural selection, I guess. I doubt humans had the firepower to outright kill us, they just outcompeted us. They were aggressive and expansionist, and my people seemed to be isolationists who tended to live in tune with nature.

A few days. Moon's still with me. Works the same as on Earth. I could transform now, if I wanted.

I've studied a lot of history, anthropology, and mythology, tryin' to figure out where my people came from. I had to learn what I was by ear.

[He stands up after a moment of contemplation, then stretches out his limbs with a few loud cracks.]

It doesn't hurt, like in the movies. Here, hold this stuff.

[He kicks off his shoes toward her, then his socks, then slips out of his t-shirt and loosens up his belt.]

I keep my pants far over-sized for a reason. I think ahead. It'd be pretty embarassin' to change back naked in the woods.

At least I'm courteous.

[It takes a moment of concentration, but soon he does, indeed, change. It's a smooth one, that rolls through his whole body at a quick pace. The final result is an over eight-foot-tall, bi-pedal, wolfen beast.]

See?

I'll bet. Well, since I can't change back for a little while, what's your story?
