There's going to be a wedding here! Everyone heard about it, right? It's so exciting, I really want to go too. I've never been to one before, but I bet they're really neat, and everyone's all dressed up, and celebrating...

I really wish I could see it, but I wouldn't mind just being able to be there at all.

I've never been to a wedding before, but what's it like? There's lots of food and dancing, right? And everyone must look so nice, too! It's really great, isn't it?

Imagine this:

You're stuck in a room full of adults. All of them basically ignore you until they find it convenient to bend over to your level and give you patronizing comments. Then, when they're finished treating you like an infant, they go back to talking over your head. Some of them get really loud and drunk at some point. Someone inevitably asks you if it's past your bedtime.

It's a waste of an evening.
